This is a great place to drop off your shirts to be cleaned and pressed. Nice, if very direct, customer service, convenient location I like to have nice ironed dress shirts, and I travel for work every week. This means I wash and fold at home, and then iron every morning in my hotel. This dry cleaner and laundry is in the McKinney Tunnel under the office building where I am currently working, and I thought I'd give them a try at $1.98 a shirt.. It actually comes to a little over $2 per shirt with tax. I dropped off 4 shirts on the Thursday before I left for home, and picked them up on the Monday that I returned the next week. The fact that they are not a same day service doesn't matter to me. The fact that now I save 10 to 15 minutes of ironing every morning is worth the $2. My only complaint is around the credit card policy. It's a $10 limit, so I need to drop off 5 shirts each week in order to use my card. Since I carry very little cash with me, when I travel, this is something I need to plan for in the future. read more

I would recommend to stay away from this business. I had mixed experiences before but I like to give benefit of the doubt to small businesses. This new lady who started running the business is clueless and very rude! Came here for a shoe shine, she up sell me to do the dye job on the shoe, then try to up sell me to change heels then the whole sole of the shoe which will cost me $80. All I wanted was a shoe shine which they couldn't do they said a dye job is what is needed!!!!! I accepted gave shoes for dye job supposedly ended up getting shoe after a week with heels replaced. Its not about the money its about getting the right thing done quick and if she didn't do it right........or there was a misunderstanding.... APOLOGIZE for misunderstanding!!!!!! Didnt apologize, kept being rude and didn't apologize a single time for misunderstanding the requirement instead kept blaming the customer. Look we go there for convenience but can't handle RUDE and conniving small business owners!!!! THEY LOST MY SUIT!!! Never go here and tell your friends to stay away. They didn't process my drop off correctly, lost my suit, and won't reimburse me for the actual cost of the suit. They said they pay 10x the processing fee which is substantially less than what I paid the suit. I'M OUT MORE THAN $600 because of them. SUMMARY: Went to this place for a simple hem, tuck the waist, and sleeves. They balked three times in delivery, and then didn't even finish the job causing me to bring it back. One of the worst tailors I've been to - so bad in fact I chose to write a review. Bought a suit from Jos A. Bank last week on Mon, needed it tailored by EOD Thursday. Jos was backed up about 2 weeks w their tailor and recommended Sparkle to get the job done, as it was in the tunnels. Sparkle rushed the fitting as they seemed pretty busy and told me the suit would be ready Weds afternoon. Went to pick it up weds and they hadn't even started, it was as if it slipped their mind. They then said it'd be ready Thurs morning, so I came to pick it up at 11am. Still wasn't finished - was still on the rack. They then said to come back in an hour or so and it'd be ready. I came back, picked it up, then about 2:30 got a call from them saying the jacket wasn't finished. What?! They forgot to close a seem in one of the sleeve's liners. Said that they were close to closing time and would take care of it next week. Unacceptable, brought it back to them to finish quickly, which they did. read more

I came to Sparkle with a pair of boots that needed a lot of work and a few business shirts. The staff took care of me and the prices were comparable with most dry cleaners downtown. They offer to deliver to your office and pay close attention to detail. I appreciated the care and ability to deliver on a decent time frame and final delivery. I use dry cleaning and alterations frequently. I was in a jam because I needed a suit for an interview. I brought a suit in that needed to be cleaned and altered. I took to Sparkle in the tunnels downtown. The stor was busy and the owner took care of me personally. She assured me she would get the suit back in time for the interview and even offered to deliver it to me. The quality exceeded expectations. The price was fair for the expedient service. Had a not so positive experience here. 1st time ever getting my shoes 1 pair of Allen Edmond and another of Cole Haan cleaned. Maybe I should have gone to the shoe hospital instead, but I assumed it can't be that hard to clean, condition, and polish shoes. She asked for a 2 day turn around time. I was fine with that. They're busy I get it. Two days later I come and they're still not done. She offers to deliver it by 4 because that's when I get off. Comes around 4:30, I'm not there. On the following Monday they finally deliver it and I would have been fine with this delay in their service cause stuff happens. However the shoe cleaning job they did was not very impressive. Looks like they didn't even use a shoe tree when polishing the shoes as there's distinct unevenness between the creases and the rest of the shoe. White smudge markings on the back of my shoe. I don't recommend this place for shoe cleanings. Maybe their dry cleaning service is a little better but I wish I looked at the reviews for this place before going. read more

Sparkle helped me out when I needed them most. I was traveling on the road for business and a button popped off my suit at the airport. I walked in and they were able to sew the button back on quickly so I could get on my way to the meeting. They were very helpful, fast, and accommodating. Sooooo, I've been downtown for 16 years. I've used this place on occasion. Shoe repair several years ago....meh. Dry cleaning a couple of times...no complaints. I noticed the last 2 times I've gone a new face is in there so I'm not sure if it's changed management or it's just a face that hasn't been there before running the show. I took a men's suit in to get dry cleaned and then called as soon as I got back to my office downtown and let her know I just wanted it steamed instead of dry cleaned. Ok no problem....she stated. When I go pick up the suit, I am charged $20.75 instead of $23.00 for the steam....huh? My response was....I could have just got a dry clean if it was only $3.00 difference. Her response...yeah..it's the same thing as dry cleaning basically, we just don't tell people that and take $3.00 off when they ask for just a steam. SMH... So then they tell me there machine is down. No problem...I can go get cash from my office. One of the employees delivers the dry cleaning so they opted to follow me to my office with my suit. Cool. She carried the suit over her shoulder; holding the hangers in her fingers.We exchange cash for suit and I left the office for the day. Fast forward to the next morning when me and the husband are packing to leave out of town. BABE, my husband calls out, there are no pants with this suit. WHAT?? This is the suit he is wearing to the Christening for which we are going out of town for. I call them. This is where the fun begins. I let the lady know there were no pants with the suit that was picked up and of course the refusal of any wrong doing happens. She just kept saying we had two hangers which meant the pants had to be there. Sorry, wrong, there were no pants. She said I must have dropped them. I explained I didn't carry the suit from her establishment to my building. Her employee did. And I let her know that when we were walking, I didn't see anything fall and we all know that walking through the tunnels there is always people walking around. I'm sure if something fell, someone would have said something. From where I picked up the suite at my office, I walked maybe 100 steps to my car carrying the suit in front of me and not over my shoulder. I also had people walking with me and no one saw any pants fall. But she still refused any type of responsibility. It was all my fault by statements. She stated that once the suit leaves the establishment she has no responsibility. I asked her if that is true even when it's delivered. She said yes......WOW. So I then asked her if it was possible that her employee may have dropped the pants while carrying the suit behind her; over her shoulder where she wouldn't have seen the pants fall. She said NOPE, THAT'S NO POSSIBLE. I literally LOL!!! Lady....stop and listen to your logic. PEOPLE, I am a business owner. Honestly, all she should have done was say, How can I make this right? I wasn't looking for a new suit, or a new pair of pants. Maybe a reimbursement or a free/discounted next purchase...but not really even that....just acknowledgement that they may have done something wrong. HOW CAN I MAKE THIS RIGHT? .....would have cured everything. She was very rude! I stayed calm. I get it...there are people that take advantage....but you can't treat everyone as if they are. So I decided to come back to this place just to give it another try, and the lady remembered me not being happy with last transaction. So with the next job I specifically informed the guy what and how I wanted. I think the key thing here is to be patient because I think I was in a rush to get a few skirts done fast. This is the only dry cleaner I have used that actually ruined my clothes. My clothes came back to me literally a different color with creases (wrinkles) pressed into them that I've been unable to get out. Although I thought it would be convenient to have a dry cleaner downtown where I work, it's not worth losing your shirt or tie for the mere convenience. The store offered nothing to make up for this and I ended up having to pay the full amount just for them ruining my clothes. read more

The customer service is top notch. My first experience with them was with a vibrant off white evening gown from BCBG that had been almost ruined by two other cleaners. They were able to remove the dirt and grass stains and restore the dress to it's original color (after the other cleaners had changed the color to a dull grey). They were able to provide free pick-up as well as free next day delivery on all of our items. In a nutshell: My Partner, who works downtown and has used Sparkle for some time, took an expensive and favorite pair of shoes there for repair. They did not complete the repairs in any type of appropriate fashion, and then lost both insoles. Without the insoles, the shoes are unwearable. They denied losing them; the woman up front lost her temper and began yelling and saying terrible things that cannot be repeated here; and denied any culpability in the situation at all. My Partner maintained his cool and did not engage in this immature, unprofessional interaction. She refused to refund any money back, even though Sparkle ruined the shoes and still expected full payment. NOT how a business is run, NOT even marginally acceptable behavior from an owner or manager. She was out of control and hysterical and acted like she could care less about the customer and situation. Well, there are hundreds of cleaners, cobblers, tailors, etc., in Houston and I will make sure anyone who wants to know to NEVER give this unstable and delusional person their business if they expect good service. And yes, they may be great most of the time, but when this happens to you and you are totally blown off, it shows who they really are behind the facade of a 'decent business.'
