    Doorway to Spark Social.

As the leader of Go Gay DC, a popular LGBTQ+ Community group that serves Metropolitan DC, I'm pleased to announce that every Sunday at Noon, Spark Social is the place for coffee and conversation. Go Gay DC gathers there to foster new friendships, and the setting is perfect. Ideal for those who are new to DC and locals who want to be more social in a cool atmosphere. This place will bring good vibes to your life!

Meeting up with a friend visiting from San Francisco, we decided on coffee at Spark Social House since it's close to where he was staying. Just north of U Street NW, it's in a central area with two inclusive rooms and a back patio. More than a popular bar, it's a cafe during the day with plenty of seats, outlets, and Wi-Fi. Going in the morning, we each got a latte. They use locally roasted Lost Sock, which I appreciate. Their coffee is very good. Service and vibes at Spark Social House were top notch.

First off I want to say that I love that it's a bar and coffee spot for our community! Secondly, the customer service is spectacular! I came in this morning and felt good about talking about PRIDE! The ambiance is very welcoming and cute! They seemed to have plenty of seating if you want to work from there! And I believe it's outback seating!

Spark Social House is a delightful sober day-to-night queer space. Iced lattes were on point, mocktail list looked excellent, and the vibes were impeccable. On a Saturday afternoon it was cozy and peaceful, with tons of comfy seating both indoors and on the back patio. We were nervous that it would be geared toward gay men, like so many explicitly queer establishments, but found it to be a true LGBTQ+ haven - staff and patrons alike fell all over the gender expression spectrum. Special shoutout to the large, well appointed unisex restrooms, with tampons and poo-pourri at the ready. Seating throughout the establishment is comfortable for larger bodies, including booths and patio furniture with nice cushions and back support. Open til 4am!!!!

This place is cool! I came during the day but I think it comes alive in the nighttime. I had a spark spritz and then an iced matcha latte. Both drinks sweet delicious! It's a vibey place meant for all...something we need more of in these times.

I loved my visit to Spark Social House. Upon entering, I was pleased by the cozy atmosphere. There was plenty of seating and could be a great venue for friendly hangouts and even as a work from home spot. The overall vibe is friendly, welcoming, and just hip enough to feel special without being pretentious. I tried the "Smash or Pass" from their alcohol-free cocktail menu, and it was outstanding! It was recommended to me, and the flavor was well balanced, refreshingly tangy yet just sweet enough, and that hint of basil brought the whole thing together. It was hands-down one of the best mocktails I've had in DC. You can tell they put a lot of creativity and care into their drinks menu, making it a standout for anyone who appreciates delicious, thoughtfully made beverages. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the prices are on the higher end, especially for zero-proof drinks. Still, for the quality, creativity, and the unique environment, I think it's worth it, even if it's a one-time visit.

I just found the coolest cafe in the city. I was simply walking by and I popped my head inside to see if the place was a bar or cafe. The outdoor sign says Social House but I wasn't quite clear what that meant. It turns out that they serve all various types of coffee, tea, and other cool organic specialty drinks. The Niceee employee who was in the main level was kind enough to explain most of the things that they have to offer. He said it's a huge work from home place, and after checking out the second level, I would agree. It's almost like a house, and for sure just as comfortable as a house. They have free WiFi and people came come hang out and work for as long as they want. This place is wayyy better than your standard cafe, and I am definitely making a plan to come here to drink coffee and work.

Really cute little cafe! Delicious matcha with passion fruit syrup. Looked like they had lots of good spots for sitting and coworking.

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
