We arrived at 9pm on a Saturday night and we were seated in a booth immediately. The restaurant wasn't busy, as it was pretty late. The decor was colorful and the music playlist was perfect for this millenial! Our server, Jake, was awesome. He was super nice and kept our drinks full. We started with a half order of classic buffalo wings. They were pretty petite but extremely flavorful and fresh. We went with a 20 inch Philly Steak pizza. It was AMAZING. Queso sauce, real pieces of steak, peppers, onions, mushrooms. The crust was great texture. We definitely fell in love! The menu has the usual apps and sammies but there are quite a few unique pizzas to try. We will be back for sure! read more

Normally go to the downtown location, but we stopped in to the west side spot for a change. They were pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon- though not terribly, and it seemed apparent pretty quickly that they were understaffed and we'd probably be waiting a bit. We didn't have a problem with that- we're patient people. Eventually we ordered 2 pizzas, a cheesy bread app, and a Caesar Salad. While waiting we played some video games located in the back, and noticed piles of dirty dishes on table tops/ counter tops, etc...again, not unusual, especially if the place is busy. But honestly it looked like only 2 people were working the entire time and the dishes piling up were just not a good look. We waited for a long time and when we finally got our pizzas they were cold and tasted terrible. This was probably to worst pizza I've ever had in my life- and I'm a firm believer that even bad pizza is still "good" cause hey, it's still pizza, right? This stuff was disgusting- tasted like cheap, frozen dough, and cheap, highly processed layers of cheese, and overall just disgusting. Couldn't even get my 7-yr old to eat it and he eats everything. Our server didn't come back to check on us until we were done eating (we didn't eat much), and gave us the check. I can't believe we even paid money for this slop, but we were just in a hurry to leave at that point, and the entire service took over 2 hours. Alex our waiter was so helpful and awesome. We had the fresh baked breadsticks and nacho cheese. They were fantastic and the nacho cheese is good too . In my opinion they were as close to the old school noble Roman's breadsticks as you can get. I had the pesto and tomato pizza. I love thin crust pizza if you don't this may not be the place for you. The best deal I could get was five dollars off.when I asked about delivery I wasn't given a price. I was told nothing is free. Then when I picked up the pizzas I was asked if I needed anything. Not too crowded on a Wednesday evening. It looks like the regulars. Got the small Spankey's salad. It comes with croutons, peppers, onions, tomatoes your choice of cheese and dressing. The croutons are perfect, crunchy but melt in your mouth. They are made with all the left over beard that is my in house. The dressing is on the side. Awesome! Wine is five a glass. This place is wallet friendly. The waitress is cute, attentive and serves with a smile. Pizza toppings on the menu are listed in order that they are stacked. I got a small pizza with pretty much everything for less than 9. Thin crunchy crust. Very tasty. Nice single serving size to allow for other menu items to be tried. Music tonight is 70-80s. After watching the salivation-inducing commercials with the funky rump-shaking theme song, I finally made it to the west-side pizzeria. (For those not in town, Evansville views the east, west, and north sides of town, respectively, as "forever" away, even though they are a matter of like 10 miles or so; i.e., a massive small town mentality). The wait was worth it! The food was awesome. First off, the fresh made breadsticks are the best I have had since 1995. I can pinpoint the date because I was in college and there was a pizza place down the street from campus that had these amazing bread sticks and cheese sauce; I basically lived on these for four years as an undergrad. So when you visit, these are an absolute must; also, you have your choice of two sauces, so you don't have to struggle on deciding between cheese or marinara. I really wanted to try their pizza, but I have found the Stromboli is the true litmus test for whether a new pizza shop warrants more than one visit. The strom, like all their sandwiches, comes with three veggies. I added mushrooms, red onions, and pepperoncinis. It was a cheesy, sausagey revelry of flavor! The hand made hoagie bun with the garlic butter sauce was the perfect amount of crunch and flavor to complement all the internal gooey goodness. My daughter opted for the chicken sandwich; she chose black olives, mushrooms, and green peppers. She cleaned her plate so I guess she sorta liked it. Both sandwiches were around $10 each, so a reasonable amount for a meal out with the fam. The owner, Ryan, actually took our order and made a point to stop by our table to see how we were digging the food. Super nice dude! The waitress was super friendly and attentive as well. Heard good things about this pizza place. We stopped in after catching a movie. The restaurant doesn't have any charm. Tables were full and their did not appear to be social distancing so we decided to get the pizza to go. Wait time for the pizza was great. We ordered the supreme. Pizza was very attractive but it looked better than it tasted. It was just average. The middle pieces had soggy crust. I was a little disappointed all and all. I am vegetarian and Spankey's has an amazing vegan strom! Spankey's is one of my favorite places for pizza period. Best in town actually! Such a cute little pizza/Italian joint! Very delicious food with a wonderful menu! A great option for vegans and vegetarians (me)! I had a customized vegan deluxe pizza (I substituted the vegan mozzarella for regular mozzarella, and instead of black olives I got green olives). This pizza also came with vegan sausage which tasted like real sausage! So delicious! The vegetables tasted great, the crust was crackery and crispy! The cheesy bread was so cheesy and delicious.
