Terrible experience at SF Hospital ER. Felt disrespected and ignored by ER doc Reece Baker. No room here for the full story.

My mother had been detoxing and she has heart failure and kidney failure. I was extremely concerned with her being in hospice rather than getting the correct medical treatment. No one would listen to me. My mother has survived being put on hospice now four time. A security guard with the name Eric demanded that I delete the pictures and audio recordings of my mother health care or be barred for 24 hours. I said, No! I'm deleting anything from my phone. i asked to file a complaint with Sheila, my mothers patient advocate. Sheila demanded that I must delete the recording and pictures as well. I said no! Three days had passed so i was in the hospital and Juan the security guard pulled me from my dying mothers room and demanded that I was criminally trespassing and I not be on the property for 365 days now. I was escorted from the property like I was a criminal. The entire time my mother was in the hospital she was not getting the right care, I was forced from the hospital by security guards that my mother was in. Juan, Sheila and Eric destroyed what could have been something special to be able to spend the last days with my dying mother. Instead our family will always have the memory of Juan, Eric and Sheila enforcing a policy the hospital does not have just to prove their authority over common citizens such as myself. Dutung the two week period I begged over and over please show me this policy that says an individual can be criminally trespass from the property for not deleting a picture. Sheila explained to me that all policy are internal and can be given to anyone. How can a hospital security team enforce a policy that is not shared publicly due to internal policy? Hie many policies have been violated while enforcing a policy that can not be shared publicly?

Also love how knowledgeable and respectful the doctors are. I usually come in with a list of questions, and they always help me understand what's going on so I don't have more concerns later. We normally see Dr. Paxton, but we also have come in for emergency visits when he's not in office. Very impressed each time. When we moved further from their office, we tried a couple other practices near us and didn't like those as much. We felt either under prepared at visits because they didn't have the pre-visit questionnaire, or frustrated at the office being behind schedule - turns out it's because the doctors like to chat a bit with patients during appointments, which some people like but I'd rather get through it quickly. After that, we changed back to Canyon View despite the longer drive.

I was given an IV and also something for nausea. I was given a double dose of something that I didn't recognize. It totally knocked me out. I vaguely remember trying to talk and was unable to. I had no control. I felt heavily drugged. I was not coherent at all. Didn't even know where I was. Then in that state...they sent me home before I was able to function on my own. I don't remember even getting into the wheel chair let alone having my husband help put me into the car. The next thing I remember was waking up at 3:00 in the afternoon in my bed still feeling not quite there. I slept off and on all day. To be honest this experience scared me because I was not conscience enough to function on my own. They should have NEVER released me until I was fully awake and able to talk. I hope they don't do this to someone else. It was totally unprofessional. Joyce Burgener

I was in pain and miserable and knew I couldn't wait until Monday. I had the very unfortunate luck of being seen by PA, McCall Jewett. She was unprofessional. Told me it wasn't realistic that I had Shingles and it was more likely that I had Herpes, Clamidia, or Ghonnorea. WHAT IN THE WORLD?! I told her I had regularly been tested and that was not a concern. After going back and forth several times I asked her if she was even going to look at the spot I was worried about, but she kept saying it wasn't necessary. I insisted she do an exam. How can she treat if she doesn't look and doesn't test. I told her that's what I was paying her for and she finally gave me a gown then "examined it" from about 5 feet away with me sitting in an upright position. There was no way she could see if there were any other concerns, nor test for what was needed. I again asked her to at minimum test for a yeast infection so that I could get an antibiotic if I needed one. She told me she would only do it if she tested me for STDs too. I expressed repeatedly this wasn't a concern and not why I was there. I asked if the list of STDs she insisted she test for presented like what I had told her I was seeing and feeling, but she said no. I told her that I didn't understand why she insited on doing tests for something I don't need, and things that aren't even close to what I'm seeing. Just swab me for what I am asking so I can go home. She still wouldn't test without doing a panel for the 3 STDs. When I finally agreed so I could get out of there, she started explaining how the test was done, handed me the swab, then told me to do it myself and leave after i'm dressed. Then she walked out. When she updated my record a couple of days later she noted that she concurs with my concerns about shingles and that she gave me medication. She didn't even get close enough to really see them or check for more blisters, after telling me it was unlikely that I had them, but she concurs?! This is one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had.
