I went to the Orem Community Hospital Emergency Room yesterday morning at the request of my dentist…read morebecause I have a severely infected tooth, a visibly huge and swollen cheek, and so much pain, OTC meds weren't touching it so I was forced to take my back pain meds (which still didn't take the pain away,) as well as a fever of 103.4 earlier in the morning. My dentist thought I should go to the ER for IV antibiotics for fear that my tooth infection had turned into something much more serious because the antibiotics he gave me weren't working. The admitting person was a sweetheart as was the male nurse; both compassionate, empathetic, and kind. The doctor came in and made me feel foolish and idiotic for going to the ER for 'simple' tooth pain, actually pulling faces at the mention of a dentist sending someone to the ER, and rolling her eyes. THEN, when she seemingly, finally decided to figure out exactly what was going on, she sat down in front of me and said, "Hon, tell me what is going on. How did this happen?" All I could think was, are you serious?? I mean look at my ginormous, pink cheek, lady!! She talked to me as if I were a child and was extremely condescending. I just felt stupid and wanted to leave and go to a different ER but I had an IV at that point (for blood tests, mind you, not antibiotics). Then she sent me in for CT scans of my face to make certain that the infection hadn't spread anywhere dangerous, finally taking my issue seriously. She didn't give me the IV antibiotics for the severe infection, she simply 'upped' my antibiotic (from the one the dentist gave me) to a stronger one. How hard would it have been to simply give me even just a injection of stronger antibiotics?? Or better still, through the IV that was already in my arm?!? Then, she numbed my tooth to take away some of the pain, which it did, for about 30 minutes when the pain came back with a vengeance. I feel like the doctor didn't like being told what to do from a measly dentist, or God forbid, me, and didn't do the antibiotics out of sheer stubbornness and pride. No, I did not go to medical school, I am not a doctor and will not pretend to know how to heal someone in the way a doctor can. I do know my body and knew something was wrong. I also know empathy, which this doctor didn't seem to posses, nor, really, did the female nurse who just acted like it was an inconvenience for me to be there. I went to this ER with the hopes of having some relief from my pain and severe infection. I left feeling stupid for going in the first place. There was no empathy, compassion, or even patience from this doctor. I know there are other doctors working at the Orem Community Hospital's ER, some with likely more empathy than was shown me, but I will *never* chance that again. I will drive the extra several miles to AF Hospital's ER where they are kind, respectful, and even humble enough to listen.

I had a Carpal Tunnel surgery done at this hospital. They asked me if I had they copay which was…read more$350. I said no. Instead of getting payments set up right then they did the surgery. They didn't ask after either. I got a statement in the mail with a paystub and a return envelope. I made a payment(what I could). I am on social security with no other income. The next month I got another statement, made the same payment, did this for 4 months then SLAM. They SLAMMED me into collections for the rest. No notice to call, no call, nothing said letting me know the payments I made were not good enough or that I needed to call, nothing just SLAM me into collections, granted my fico score is in the toilet anyway and I don't care because I pay cash for everything. I will never use this facility for anything ever again.

Pam even came to see my baby and I in the mom/baby unit to send us love and made my day. Such a sweetheart!! Mom/baby unit- nurses Elise and Alexa were the most amazing nurses I've ever experienced. Most amazing human beings ever. I'm so glad and grateful to have them taking care of my baby and I. Much love and blessings to those beautiful ladies I definitely recommend going there for labor and delivery and have them on your team! I hope they all get the recognition they truly deserve and earned

The medical staff we get at the lab have always been excellent! Their phlebotomists are top notch for tiny children's veins and are so friendly and kind to my kids. It's the desk staff that could use some more training or people skills or something. The staff at the desk in the lab are always just slouched back in their chairs, don't greet you, don't know the answers to questions, and overall act like they don't want to be there.

Today she started complaining of stomach pain so…read morewe took her to urgent care where she tested negative for strep and they suggested we head to the ER for x-rays and a urine test to rule out appendicitis or a UTI. The ER is very clean. It's about a year old. It's your typical hours long wait time after you get triaged to get a room. Everyone we've encountered has been really friendly and good with my daughter. They' all have offered us a snack or drink. X-rays went well and the exam room was decorated cute and clean. Underwater themed. The technician was friendly and gentle with my daughter. The only thing I didn't appreciate is the Covid tested my daughter without asking and that has never happened to us before usually it's asked first. Plenty of parking.

My 13 year old son was just diagnosed with type one diabetes, I felt really stupid even going in there to ask about it because it doesn't run on either side of our families and I felt like I was for sure overreacting but he calmly diagnosed him and gave us very clear instructions on what to do next THEN gave us his personal cell number in case I had questions and THEN he came to visit us at primary children's that night to make sure we were holding up. I had an awful experience at Reverse Health Urgent Care in Saratoga Springs, Utah. In October, I…read moretook my 3-year-old son there for a second opinion after he was diagnosed with croup at another urgent care. Instead of carefully evaluating him, the doctor dismissed any attempt to diagnose and immediately used terrifying language, telling us our "baby could crash" and urgently needed an ambulance to the ER. This was completely unnecessary and panic-inducing. When we got to the ER, the doctor told us it was just a mild case of croup. They gave him a steroid and sent us home--simple as that. But thanks to Reverse Health's scare tactics, we were left with a $1,000+ ER bill. To make matters worse, Reverse Health told me they would waive the visit fee, but they charged me anyway. When I received the bill, I tried to dispute it, but every time I called, I was transferred and promised a call back from someone in charge. That call never came. I had to keep following up, and to this day, no one has reached out. Even though my insurance covered most of it, the $25 I was left to pay feels like a bigger issue--if they can't honor their word on something that small, how can I trust them with anything more important? This place is disorganized and unprofessional. I wouldn't trust them with my family's care again. Go somewhere else.

Horrible, unethical Dr. came in on a Saturday to have an x-ray of my son's wrist. It's two days…read morelater and Dr Gibby has still not read my son's X-ray. If you offer x-ray service on a weekend it should be read on that same day! Never experienced anything like this in my life. This Dr is happy to take your money for no actual result. I sent the pic of my son's wrist to my sister in law who is a Rad tech in California. She and her coworkers were appalled that an x-ray of the entire hand was taken and not focused on the wrist. Even the techs here are a joke. Utah healthcare is the absolute worst. Going to another facility where the radiologist actually does his job.

I took off a star because I didn't like the check in process or the questions asked that I was told I had to answer. It felt like an invasion of my privacy. First I shouldn't have to disclose either my SS or my religion for a simple yearly breast exam, but the young lady at the counter told me I wouldn't get my bracelet or access unless I answered them. I had my young daughter with me and I wasn't about to start a fight in front of her but when I explained that those items shouldn't be necessary to get my exam she said it's hospital policy. I didn't want to reschedule or go somewhere else but I was pretty upset. Also they require you to wear a medical bracelet as if you are being admitted for a hospital stay which is a bit crazy as the beast center is on the 1st floor just behind reception! Also, on his particular day the lights needed to be replaced so there were men working in the breast center area while I was being examined. While they didn't see me half naked they were there as I walked thru and I'll tell you this... the "gown" is a midriff weird shaped thing and not good for bigger gals as it doesn't cover your waist really. Personally I've had way better experiences elsewhere.

I had to be transferred from my midwives to the hospital for induction last week. I had been…read moreplanning on a home birth until experiencing high blood pressure that I couldn't get under control in the last weeks of pregnancy. Common Spirit Holy Cross is not far from home and in network, plus I saw they had birth suites with shower and tub and I wanted a water birth. Unfortunately due to the high blood pressure there was a chance I'd be put on a magnesium drip, which could make me feel nauseous and lightheaded and getting in and out of the the tub was too risky so I was confined to the bed and room. While I was here I interacted with at least a dozen if not more members on staff from doctors to nurses to certified nurse midwives to lactation consultants and dietary staff. Right off the bat I felt super comfortable. I was already nervous about having to be induced, but felt I was in a positive environment where the employees cared about their patients and their experience. Having an unmedicated birth was important to me as well as rejecting certain procedures and treatments for myself and baby. I never felt guilt tripped or forced into anything I didn't want to do for the most part (there were a few negative interactions with one person specifically). I was just met with questions for understanding my choices and provided with additional info and allowed to make my decision. With respect to those negative interactions I felt like most of the Holy Cross team advocated for me against this person to ensure I had the best possible labor and delivery experience, WHICH I DID. It was all hands on deck, and I had a beautiful unmedicated delivery. Now on to the negatives...this one person, instead of introducing herself with the same bedside manner like everyone else to make me feel comfortable and understand what was going on without making me worry, she came in guns blazing and seemed adamant about wanting to put me on the magnesium drip right after telling me how much it would suck, so much so that I would ask for the epidural. Also, she dropped this on me while I was in the middle of a blood pressure reading, which is only going to keep my blood pressure even more elevated to justify her desire to put me on the drip... the rest of the team decided I could attempt to labor unmedicated without the drip and low and behold, my beautiful baby girl was born five hours later. Also a couple of staff kept trying to say that Pitocin is the same thing as oxytocin, which it's not! Oxytocin is a natural labor hormone. Pitocin is synthetic. Oxytocin builds naturally as labor progresses, when your body and baby are ready. Pitocin can just be turned up regardless if your body and baby are ready. Oxytocin releases endorphins to reduce pain. Pitocin does not cross the blood-brain barrier and so you feel pain more. The only way they're the same is that they cause uterine contractions. Overall, I was impressed with the facility, with the staff, and with the quality of care and follow up during rounds. I felt encouraged and despite not getting the home birth I wanted, it turned out as great as it could be! I did have to go back a few days after discharge, to the ER, due to BP and it was another pleasant experience.

My appointment was at 11:15. I was told I would need to reschedule because there's a 10-minute window. I've been coming to this for over four years. I'm extremely disappointed that right before Christmas I was turned away for being one minute outside of that window. I needed a RX refilled before I travel. I've left a message to see if they're going to be able to fill my prescription or if I'm going to have to go off of it cold turkey which I'm not supposed to do. In the past I've been happy with this office. The receptionists are nice and I've had good experiences with the doctor, PAs and NP's. That's why I found it so surprising that I was sent away for being 1 minute outside of their window

She listened & addressed all of my concerns, and finally diagnosed me properly! Their office staff were also super friendly, including the guy who took my vitals. I will definitely be going back to Jennifer as my Primary care physician!
