It's been over two months since I've visited the spaghetti warehouse. For Mother's Day, I took my mother there as per her request, the waiting, the service and serving sizes was atrocious!!! After approximately 10 minutes, we were seated at a booth and right away, asked what we wanted to drink. Simple enough we'd like two waters with no lemon please. The waitress comes back with one water and no lemon one water with lemon so we asked her for another water no lemon. When she returns to our table, she takes her order and leaves. Never coming back with any bread and butter to our table. After 15 minutes, she comes back with our salad that was so small even both of them combined wouldn't amount to one salad. Then we sat there for another 15 minutes waiting for a knife so that my mom could cut her salad, by the time the waitress came back with a knife. She basically tossed it on the table as she was walking by. After that I was finished. I asked for a manager and waited to talk with him before telling him that I would pay for the salads, even though both of them together would amount to one salad. The manager was nice enough to tell us we didn't have to pay for it and he did apologize. This was so frustrating that I could feel my cheeks flushed, and my blood pressure raising. I've dined here a few times and the good and service is very good. The meat sauce is really savory and thick and the lasagna is one of their top dishes. Our server was really hustling and she did an absolutely fantastic job, I wish I could remember her name. It's a big place but surprisingly not that many tables and they're spaced far apart. The wait time on a Saturday can be up to an hour. But I think it's worth it. It's near the Ohio-Erie towpath trail at S. Main and Rosa parks. They have a decent selection of beers. The interior decor is pretty cool, retro and vintage metal advertising signs. Started in 1972, the spaghetti warehouse has 6 locations in 3 states. It definitely has a warehouse feel as it is located inside an old warehouse. I don't exactly know the history behind the building itself but it may be related to tire manufacturing in Akron. The Spaghetti Warehouse is an interesting place to say the least, the owner has created a work of art that functions as a restaurant so your first visit could be aesthetically captivating. I came here for lunch and found the restaurant to be as nostalgic on the interior as the exterior with its aged brick walls towering high above the dining area. The restaurant was mostly filled during the lunch hour which was a little surprising being this restaurant is quite large but fortunately adequately staffed to accommodate the lunch crowd who comes here for food and not so much the décor. Pasta, sandwiches and salads populate the menu all served in a reasonable time by attentive servers whom depend on gratuity to earn a living so they seem somewhat motivated to get it right. The wedding soup was rather unique with a few sparsely strands of capellini added in but delicious, although it was only lukewarm which was a little disappointing being the outside temperature was in the mid to upper teens. The meatball sandwich could of used a little more cheese and one more meatball but it was toasted perfectly and covered in a flavorful sauce. The fries were just okay, if you like them crispy you may want to make your server aware of this when ordering they were a little under done for my taste. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I'd return but maybe lower my expectations, our group of four checked out for just under fifty dollars excluding the tip. read more

Lets start with our experience. If you get the pasta, you might as well go to a soup restaurant. There was more water in my plate than spaghetti. The Italian sausage (Italian sausage) try Oscar Myer wiener. The Bloody Mary tasted like shit. Not worth it. Better off making it at home yourself. read more

Dang, I'm sad to write this review. Really sad because I used to love this place-have some fond memories. On the positive, our service was outstanding, I can't praise the waitress enough so she saved them from a 1-star slam! For the bad, the food was mildly disgusting and greasy. Not sure how the chef screwed up pasta but blaaargh! Secondly, they are not spending a nickel to repair/fix anything. The table cloth had a hole in it, the restaurant was nearly empty so I'm assuming that was the nicest they had to offer. I've enclosed a pic of the bathroom which shows exposed drywall and an obvious need of a paint job. The file is chipped and terrible. I'm afraid to imagine what the kitchen looks like. I think I was expecting too much from this place. We arrived at lunchtime and it was pretty dead inside. We were seated after a few minutes of waiting and our server seemed unimpressed with having a table to take care of. She never smiled and seemed to care less about being at work. We ordered two kids meals and they literally came out immediately. Almost as if they were someone else's food because there's no way they could have been ready so quickly. I had the meatball sub and it was good. My husband ordered a pasta with chicken parm "side car" but it came out as just chicken. When he asked about the parm and sauce the server said it's just chicken. Overall I was not impressed and have absolutely ZERO desire to return. we have been coming to this location for years. we don't get there as often as we'd like but the food and service has always been excellent. they have the best Chicken Alfredo the best Sausage Links the best Sautéed Mushrooms and I don't know where they get them but they have the most flavorful Tomatoes on their salads . I always ask for extra tomatoes they are so good Of course prices have gone up but the portions are still generous and that is appreciated. my husband has tried different menu items with no complaints but I always get the Alfredo . We only returned here because of a work gathering. The server was taking our drink orders to start. I ordered The Party Pitcher which is half Bloody Mary mix and half local ale. She came back with a bucket of beer bottles. I explained again what I was ordering. She told me a pitcher of sangria? I told her it was half beer & half Bloody Mary mix in a pitcher. She argued with me that they didn't make anything like that until my coworker showed her on the menu. It was finally delivered but had not been stirred so the top was just beer and the bottom Bloody Mary mix. Being a pitcher, I had nothing to stir with. It was terrible. I ordered the angel hair with pomodoro sauce. It looked great but really had no seasoning. I added salt and it was a little better but the veggies were just bland. The salad before the meal, calamari & bread were excellent. If I have to go back ever, I'll order a calamari, green salad and bread with water. The time I went before, the soup was terribly salty. My husband had a taste for some pasta so we ordered take-out. I picked it up about 20 min. after we placed the order. I waited a little over 5 minutes at the bar before I was greeted by what looked like the manager and then the server. Our food was ready and I paid immediately. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and my husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs with bear batter chilli. My salad was delicious. My son and I really enjoyed it. The dressing was delicious and it had a sufficient amount of chicken on it. My husband on the other hand did not care for his meal as much. The spaghetti had a weird flavor and the chilli was a little overbearing. We will definitely eat there again and try something different read more

Don't recommend. It was my favorite restaurant most of my life, very disappointed with this new restaurant. Right of the bat, the male host was most unfriendly saying 20 minute wait since we didn't have reservations for 2 in the middle of afternoon, never needed reservation before but waited. Ended up being 35 minute wait then finally got a booth which you felt isolated in with walls on both sides. Started looking up reviews that I should've done prior to coming would have thought twice about going since they were all negative. It had been 15 minutes and no server ever came so we just walked out it , just ridiculous never would have had that happen at the old location. Guess we'll have to drive to Akron on special occasions as we went there a few times since the old location closed and it was very good with very good service. I ordered lunch for myself and my coworker for her birthday, I was sooo disappointed. I hadn't been here in a while and I won't ever be back. If 0 stars was an option, I would have chosen it. I ordered the lasagna. First, it wasn't even a little hot (I did use door dash, but I wasn't that far). I open my lasagna and there was sauce caked on top. The problem was it didn't look fresh. It looked like it was last bit scraped from the pan. I ignore it, I'm hungry. Stick my fork in... it was all noodle. No cheese or meat or nothing!!! So I pull the first layer off. Then the next. Then the next. There is nothing in between FIVE LAYERS of noodle. I finally find the cheese. Go to eat that... THAT WAS IT! It was stacked on top of 3 more layers of noodles!! We stopped tonight with a party of six. It has been years since we've been here, so we were excited based on our memories. Our first impression walking in is how dirty the restaurant seemed. When the kids ordered their meals, they were permitted to choose between a salad and applesauce. They had no applesauce, so we asked for other options. There were none. Warm Italian bread came out next. It was actually very good, which in the end was the only good part of our meal. Two of us ordered the lasagna with Alfredo sauce. Two ordered spaghetti and meatballs. One ordered the double down chicken parm and the other ordered Mac & cheese. It took more than an hour to get our food. The lasagna wasn't even hot. The wedding soup side dish was not warm either. The salads looked like they'd been sitting in a cooler for days with wilted lettuce. The homemade ranch dressing was one other highlight. It was delicious. We asked for Parmesan cheese and had to wait until most of us were done eating. The double down chicken parm came out as normal chicken parm. We let the server know to just charge us for the cheaper one, and the bill was never changed. The food was clearly just microwaved, and the server never checked on us. We never got refills, and asked for some when the bill was brought to us only to find out they were out of iced tea. Nothing was offered as a replacement. We wished we had just gone to Luigi's. Oh man. We've tried this location three times now hoping perhaps each bad experience was a fluke. We went the other day and were not greeted at the host stand so we sat at the bar but were not helped there either for about 10+ minutes. Food was very slow, help seemed sparse and the food taste was very average. We actually only ordered apps because we didn't have time to wait on a full meal which would have seemed to take a long time. I must say that the young gentlemen who indicated he was filling in at the bar worked his butt off but he can't possibly be expected to gather door dash orders, make drinks, serve dessert and tend the bar at the same time. Luckily the manager was nice enough to comp our apps which took 40 minutes to receive. We definitely won't be back because I'm just not sure it's worth the money anymore. Nope. Not even a little bit with this place. I've lived in Akron most of my adult life and had never been here. We needed a venue that could accommodate about 10-15 people for my birthday dinner and somehow this place was booked. As soon as we parked we realized what we were in store for. Overweight slobs in their finest sweat pants rambling out the front door. Some 20 year old Ford parked across the pickup food parking spot and the handicapped parking spot (no handicapped tag). Upon entering we were greeted with what appeared to be leftover games from an old Chuck-e-Cheese's; skeeball, air hockey, and more. Bubble gum machines and a candy counter vis-a-vis a movie theater concession stand was in front of the hostess stand. The carped it there is black and dirty as tar and doesn't look like it's been cleaned since Reagan was President. Unpolished brass bars, warehouse-high ceilings adorned with kitsch crap, a life sized trolly car you could eat in INSIDE the restaurant, and more skeeball tables further in. For the life of me I can't figure out where there are so many security camera globes hanging from the ceiling as if we were in a Tiffany's! We waited until the rest of our leery party arrived and the waiter seemed to be very overwhelmed when he had to give us the draft beer list; of four beers. I stopped listening after Coors Light. We all basically ordered waters and made up an excuse to leave and left immediately. Am I a snob? Possibly. But the Olive Garden is light years beyond this place. We hadn't been here in over a year but always loved it after a baseball game decided to eat here . Business was slow at 6:00 pm few people there. We were seated right away and saw several employees and a manager ( who looked like he couldn't wait to get out of there ) just walking around all were dressed very poorly except one young black girl who hustled around and looked neat and clean. We wait over 20 minutes we try to get the manager's attention as he has walked by several times looking off in the distance like he's somewhere else to no avail. We finally get our food , oh forgot to mention waiter brought wet bread plates we wiped off . My daughter had a salad I had wedding soup way too salty wanted to exchange it for salad but waiter no where around we flagged down another waitress to bring my daughter a knife to cut up big chunks in her salad of just lettuce and croutons. They ordered flavored teas that had no flavor waited forever for waiter to bring sugar to the table to sweeten no apologies for tea or do you want something else ? The food was still good there,I had lasagna and my daughter had carbonara and husband and grandson pizza . We had finished salad, the soup , bread plates sitting everywhere we stacked them and they sat there till the end of our meal waiter walked away empty handed. We waited again for boxes flagged down another waitress to get them and then it took forever to get the check and pay . The person answering the phone has poor customer service. She got my order wrong. She got my name wrong but that's okay. At first I get there and get my order. She gets smart with me at the bar back and forth about the name being wrong. Then I realize the order was a little higher than what I thought but I was just ready to get out of there. I paid for my food left. By time I get back home which I live in fairlawn. I found out that she didn't hear me and added on a whole another order. I didn't call and complain I just said forget it. è ottimo!....Located on the edge of downtown Akron with it's own spacious parking lot, this place had a visual wonderment of an atmosphere, everywhere you look was something new & interesting, great dining experience for children. The menu was filled with deliciously described entrees and even some non-Italian selections. We thought the food tasted great but maybe not served exactly as described. We were also disappointed with how stingy they were with the pasta sauces - otherwise we'd have given four (4) stars. Our server, Breanna, was on point. She checked on us frequently, kept our drinks filled & bread fresh/warm. The price-to-value was reasonable; we'd definitely make a return trip. I'm speaking mainly on the quality of the dishes themselves. I've had frozen food items that taste better then this. Olive Garden even beats this. The service was fast and friendly. As I read the other reviews for this restaurant, I kind of realize that much of their gripes are very true. This place is a standard stop for a kid's birthday party or a quick business lunch with the office drones... I was planning on giving it a weak 4 stars, but instead with those thoughts in mind, I give it a strong 3. Bear in mind, this place is light years better than Olive Garden (the McDonalds of Italian Cuisine), but most hole in the wall places should be. The food may be a bit over par, but the atmosphere and the overall experience make Spaghetti Warehouse about average. The dining hall is large, numerous big tables for plenty of diners in a family environment; good for graduations, visits with family, and, the before mentioned, birthday parties. They have a couple of unorthodox options for seating, bed frames, the trolley car where we sat, and patio style benches. Such things tend to go both ways when setting mood. We ordered the fried zucchini appetizer. The breading was thin and didn't stick well to the vegetables, which were a bit undercooked, but the taste was definitely there. Plenty of bread with freshly churned butter (which was impressive). I split an order of manicotti with my girlfriend and it was very delicious. Stuffed with an excellent blend of cheese and coated with a hearty spread of fresh alfredo on one side and a very well done marinara on the other. Beautiful presentation and great taste. Her kids' lunches, on the other hand, were a bit disappointing. One had the lasagna, which had 15 layers and was pretty damned messy and just average in the taste. Seriously, when you have such a great tasting marinara on one plate, how does that not translate to the other dishes? Her other son had grilled chicken tossed with garlic and mushrooms and penne pasta. The components worked well together and everything was cooked well, I just would have liked ALOT more garlic and a better selection of mushrooms. Seriously, you can do better than just tiny, white mushrooms. So, don't expect genius things out of this place, but do expect to be well satisfied. It's difficult to make a successful Italian place and even more so when it tries on a scale such as this one. We had high hope being avid Spaghetti Factory fans from the west coast. Decor is nearly identical with a bit of a carnival quiche added to the eclectic mix of signage and decor. Coffee is good, salad okay, bread small but okay. I had the lasagna and my husband the spaghetti fiesta. First appearance the entrees looked yummy, but it only took one bite to know they were reheated from last night or from frozen we had to send both entrees back because they were cold. The other couple in the trolley did the same. Everything did not have a fresh taste and the noodles actually had a stale taste. The 15-layer lasagna had many layers of noodles but not even sauce between let alone any cheese. Basically a dry noodle tower with sauce on top. Shame shame. My dear friend Wyatt asked for sweet tea and instead got unsweetend tea so that's horrible!! We only got checked on once during our entire stay. The food was average the salad was OK the bread was OK the garlic was good and the shrimp Alfredo was OK. Grace, a brand new waitress gave us the best service I have ever had at this restaurant. She was fast and thorough, we never were without drinks or anything else. If she didn't know, she immediately found out. When we we're done, she even threw in an extra loaf of bread and butter. The bread was wrapped in foil and the butter even had a lid. My boyfriend raved about trying this place out for awhile. He said he hadn't been in years, but he always liked going to Spaghetti Warehouse in Akron, Ohio. It is a distance from home, so today we finally found time to give it a try. We were greeted promptly and seated. Our table was on wheels. So, when I rested my arms, my table rolled away. (One way to teach me to keep my elbows off the table). The top of the table was extremely sticky. I got up to feel the surrounding tables. All the tables had the same consistency. (Let me help paint the picture. Remember at your grandma's house how everything looked clean but it had a film on it. And the smell--let's just say if the movie, Cocoons had a smell...bingo). The waitress relocated us to "the kid's table." The table wasn't sticky, but it was really small and short. I am a shorter woman and even I felt like I had to hunch over to eat. On to ordering, the waitress was prompt initially. She asked us three times within two minutes if we were ready to order followed with a "but it's no rush." The first course was next. My salad was more like garnishing for a burger. Meaning, it was lettuce, thin orange tomatoes, and 3/4 inch cut onions. My boyfriends wedding soup was room temperature and tasteless. The garlic butter for the bread made it taste like you were eating precooked, garlic toast fresh from the freezer. It was so gross we did kindly ask for plain butter. The butter came with the meal and all over my arm. I don't know how the server managed to accomplish that task, but I can't help but think it was intentional. My boyfriend even asked me later if I thought he was rude when asking for it. (He was not!) Anyway, I had inquired about the spaghetti sauce prior to ordering. The server's response was that the meat sauce was smooth without tomato chunks and hardy on the meat. The sauce was watery (actual water was at the bottom of my bowl) and there were chunks of tasteless meat in it accompanied with tons of tomato chunks. My boyfriends lasagna was in small portions and his sauce was thicker than mine!! He ate quickly because he said he just wanted to leave and this place was nothing like he remembered in years past. We would have complained, (which I seldom do being a server is how I got through college and my early years of my career) but the once zealous server did not show up again until she asked how was our food and do we want the bill. We went on a random Wednesday, were seated right away. Our waiter was excellent. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and the wedding soup. The soup was a bit salty but edible.
