They called me a few weeks before scheduled delivery & unload of my u-box, and we agreed on 8:30am on the scheduled date. A week later, they called to schedule again, which I thought was a little weird, but I brushed it off as a mistake and reminded them we had already scheduled it for 8:30am, and the woman I spoke with agreed and apologized. Flash forward to the date of the move-in. About fifteen minutes before scheduled arrival, I tried to call to make sure they could find the place, as my place is located on a sort of hidden culdesac. No answer from the number listed here or on the one provided by uhaul. I went back through my call history and found the number that had originally called me to schedule (with a tx area code). No answer, but right after hanging up I received a text from that number. Here's how that conversation went: People's Moving: Hi, I missed a call from this number? Me: Hi! I had spoken to someone on this number from people's movers before? People's Moving: Yes how can I help you? People's Moving: I'm sorry I'm driving Me: No worries! I'm meant to have a uhaul ubox delivery and unload this morning and just wanted to confirm Me (twenty minutes later): They were meant to be here 15 minutes ago & the uhaul storage facility says the box hasn't been picked up. Me (twenty more minutes later): Hello? Those last two text messages weren't delivered. I also tried calling, and after one ring my call went to voicemail. In other words, they blocked my phone number. Movinghelp.com and Uhaul also tried to contact them on my behalf, to no avail. So 4 hours after they were scheduled to arrive, I'm trying to find a moving company available for same day service. This company is run by complete incompetence, if it is run at all. Save your money, time, and stress levels, hire someone else from the start.

I had the worst moving experience with this company. I had a few large pieces of antique furniture…read moremoved from RI to MA. They sped through packing up everything in RI and I was surprised when I heard from my friend that they were already en route to my home in MA. When I returned home that evening (my husband was home during the move), the first thing I saw were 3 large pieces of an armoire placed on top of my trash barrels outside with part of the facade laid on top. The remaining parts of the armoire were broken in multiple pieces. One shelf was missing. A painted bureau that had been in perfect condition prior was found to have a broken base that later completely collapsed. Three of the legs were split with missing shards. Another bureau had black streaks on the front. Finally, they were also unable to move an armoire out of a room, a piece was successfully moved into that same room years ago and that I was to deliver to a friend. This was absolutely the worst job I have ever seen. They do not even deserve one star. I provided detailed photo's of the broken parts to the company, but they made up their own version of the events and did not agree to a complete refund ($1280 with tip). They offered us $100 initially and then $300 when we protested. I now have to pay for the repairs and am not sure I will see any of the money. To add insult to injury I am missing a pair of gold earings that had been left in my room and suspect they may have taken them. My parent's independent living facility required that I select a mover on their "trusted" list. My brother had used Lawton movers the week prior based on the price they offered him and their seeming nice to deal with on the phone. Had they been careful and gone more slowly, they certainly would have made more money. In the end it would have paid off for me.

I think I spent more money (and time) on cutting the tubes of metal into pieces that would fit into my car than what I was given. In total I had 450 pounds of metal and 14 pounds of aluminum and walked out with $19.50. I was expecting a little more. However, I will say all the employees were very nice and helpful throughout the entire process.

We came in and everything was fine but we should have been notified immediately. This year the price has gone up closer to almost another extra 25-30 dollars if I recall and that's a pretty big hike considering it was like 50. Also considering the fact we were *NOT* notified despite them assuring us they sent word out (only after the fact when called) so I'm not sure if that was sheer laziness by not checking all the boxes or if they were just trying to pull the wool over our eyes. We literally only found out upon paying it after the new year. No mail, texts, or anything. We're thinking about cleaning it out and bringing things home because moving everything somewhere else or finding someone to do that would be too much of a hassle as I'm very disabled and can barely get out of the house. Can't fault them for this but not a very good situation to be in and I still hold a lot of grief regarding my father and another relative's deaths which is what forced us to get a storage unit in the first place because of my father's sister locking us out when I was still basically a kid. The good: The facility is clean, well-maintained, secure, and reasonably priced…read more I had to call the maintenance staff twice to open the freight elevator when it was stuck. In both cases they came promptly and were friendly. The bad: The storage lockers are open only from 7AM to 7PM, seven days a week. Maintenance staff is available only from 7AM to 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday. Passengers are not allowed in the freight elevator. The elevator has both an inside door and an outside door, both on ground level and on the second floor. If all four doors are not closed and latched, the elevator gets stuck and you have to call maintenance. You have to climb a flight of 17 stairs to get to the second floor because you can't ride in the elevator.
