My updated review. So much better than my first visit. A lot has changed . So im break it done. Foremost, go on Groupon and get the deal for Spa World. Its like $26.75 . Its free if you go on your birthday! Now being in the buff is optional now ! Ok after you paid. You get a key bracelet assigned with a locker number. You get 2 lockers. One for your shoes another for your stuff. You will need to bring Flip flops, extra socks. Bring your personal items like shampoos, scrubs etc. Bring a book or headphones. Bring a swimsuit. Bring facial sheet masks etc. They sell it hear too but for $5 each. The bade pools are separate. Their are different tubs by temperature. I recommend jumping in the cold pool. It's cold at first but just do it. So many benefits when you go into cold water. Their are saunas on i could last more than 3 minutes. I would have turned into a strip of bacon. The poultice rooms... their are so many. But my favorite is the salt rooms. So many benefits. But my top pick is the red clay ball room. The Cafe has a juice bar and inside is a restaurant. I got spring rolls and I didnt like. Also there is a long wait time . Please plan accordingly. You pay for things with your numbered bracelet you'll pay at check out. Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated.

My friends and I got a good deal on Groupon and paid 24.66 per person for Spa World. We stopped by around noon this past Memorial Day and spent about 6 hours relaxing at the spa. However, I would not recommend paying Spa World for the full price. This isn't a luxury experience. It's very hole-in-the-wall, no frills but has all the basics. After checking in, we were given a wristlet key with a number on it, which we could use to access lockers and to pay for food and luxury spa treatments. We also got a set of spa clothes to wear in the common area. The clothes we got looked like they've been through a lot. There were at least 5+ holes on our shirt, and my friend pulled a long black hair out of her shirt that was definitely not hers. We spent a couple hours in the gender-segregated area, which is where all the hot tubs, steam rooms, and some of the saunas are. Nowadays, we don't have to be butt naked and can still enjoy these facilities with a swim suit. While there were a good amount of people at the spa, we found our own space without feeling too crowded. Each tub and room had a temperature sign which was nice. The common area was on the smaller side with not a whole lot of seating area. We could grab mats to lie on the ground and take a nap, but I found the mats to be old and not a good support for my back. There were several sauna rooms, but most of them were pretty full. My personal favorites were the Red Clay Ball room (which was a nice place to lay down and watch KDramas in) and the Salt room (probably because it was completely empty when I was there). We ended up getting food at the cafeteria since we were hungry after a few hours. I don't think the food is worth it at all. The pricing is extremely expensive, and the quality was lackluster. I got the SEAWEED AND BEEF SOUP for 16 and it had maybe 3 pieces of beef in there, some seaweed, then very watery and flavorless broth. Overall, it was still a relaxing experience. My friends and I made the most out of it. This is incredibly barebones for a spa, but it gets the job done.

I've been coming here for probably a decade now and I still love coming here. King spa is really good too but it's expensive. Make sure if you come here YOU GET THE GROUPON! The Groupon is literally held the price if you just walk in. This is the perfect spa if you are coming solo or with the same gender AND if you're comfortable being nude in the bade pool. It is totally optional to go into the bade pool but you get the best experience with the hydro therapeutic jets in the nude. The saunas are coed and you have to wear the uniform. The food is also good and reasonably priced. They definitely have upgraded their menu. I like to get the yakisoba and the sushi! Yum! The staff is really friendly and I highly recommend coming here. You can spend a lot of time just relaxing. Spa world is amazing!

The water in the large pool was DISGUSTING! It was so murky there was no way I was going to step one foot in it! The mini pools were fine but that one was so gross I couldn't believe it. This was my 2nd but LAST time visiting here

This remains my "go-to" place to retreat to and reward myself right after I've lined up and completed back-to-back appointments with my longtime massage clientele that's located ALL over the D.M.V. (DC/MD/VA) area. The staff is always attentive and welcoming, and their many amenities continue to contribute to the overall "escape" atmosphere that MANY of us need to indulge in on a regular basis; Had I lived in the state of Virginia, I'd surely be a regular at Spa World! Instead, I religiously use this massive Korean spa establishment as a way to end any and ALL of my trips to our nation's capital with a long-sighing-smile. The ONLY complaint I have about this place is that it no longer is open 24 hours as it USED to recently be. Bring back the 24/7 hours, please! Us travelers would greatly appreciated it!

I've been here so many times but it's dirtier everytime I come. 1) they don't make ladies tie up long hair in the baths so you'll often find hair in the water. 2) there are bugs in the common area and the floors are often sticky. Not sure how often they clean them. I was casually reading when I see a cockroach just walking by my mat. Gross. 3) they often run out of stuff. They didn't have any more tapioca for the bubble tea but also refused to give another replacement of topping for free. Wish this place took better care, because it's definitely going downhill.

Tried their couples facial and loved it! Staffs skin was glowing itself so knew they knew what they were talking about! Loved that they use korean skin care. The head and neck massage they gave during the facial was incredible. Definitely recommend treating yourself!

Spa World is a great alternative for those who are looking for a spa experience but on a more cost effective option for a day trip. If you use groupon, it roughly totals around $25-27 dollars and that's 1/3 of the cost compared to other neighboring spa places! I went on a Saturday afternoon where I spent majority of my day there. After checking in, you get your own set of Spa Uniform ( I think it's only one size ) and your locker key. There's a shoe locker where you put your shoes in first and then you walk down the hallway to the main locker room which is where you store belongings and change out into the spa uniform/go to the hot tub section. Korean Spas tend to have separated gender hot tub sections so this is nothing new compared to other places. Nudity is an option but people wore swim trunks and that's honestly okay. What I like about the hot tubs/sauna/cold plunge sections is there is a temperature reader that explains how hot or how cold the current water is. It's good to know before you randomly jump into a section and you immediately want to get out because it's not the temperature for you. My only real complaint is just how packed it was, there's just a lot of people waiting to sit down at one of the seats with the water jets or shower heads that had pressure that could be good for a hydro massage. Perhaps I went at peak hours but your mile my wary with non busy days. If you decide to skip the hot tub section and change into your Spa Uniform, walking out leads to a Co-Ed area where it's essentially a hub to meet with everyone else and enter the various sauna rooms featuring different rocks like Clay, Amethyst, Charcoal, Mud, ect. The rooms are flat and there are benches to sit down but you can't really enjoy laying down if there's no pillow or cushion. There's also a food section where you can order drinks/desserts and a smaller section if you want to order food. The food features various Korean dishes and if you are familiar with how you get charged to your key, it's the same where you pay after checking out at the end. I did get the Dolsot Bibimbap which is Bibimbap served in a sizzling hot stone bowl, it was light and refreshing to eat. It's my go to bowl if you don't know what to get and it's just full of vegetables too as a healthy option. You do get some banchan too along side miso soup. I don't think many people mentioned this or noticed but there is a gym to the left of the food section and you have to go up stairs, so this seems like a new addition from what others have told me. Personally this is a big plus for me because I like to make use of my time and while I'm spending hours sweating in a sauna, why not also burn some calories. The machines are dated but they work. I was able to run on the elliptical for an hour and I am honestly shocked that I did not wear socks so it did hurt a bit; that's on me. I honestly was surprised at how much my experience elevated because of the gym and I hope they improve it. For a day trip, I think it's an absolute steal to go if you have the groupon deal. You get what you paid for, but Spa World does offer a lot in terms of options. If you do plan on going there, do make sure to bring your own lotion/soap/towel. Showers only have shampoo and there's not really much at the sink. The towels they give you are very small so best to bring those for a better experience.

Ask the Community - Spa World

Is the bade pool swimsuit optional now (can wear suit)?

Yes there was a guy on the men's side wearing a suit. I asked the attendant about it as I was leaving and he showed me a sign saying either is allowed. Don't like the new policy but whatever- the guy with the suit got more attention because he was… Read more

Are there any vegetarian food options available?

    Yes Kimchi.

Website says they have a kids pool and are family friendly. If i took my kids here on a weekend, Is there normally kids there? My kids might not be comfortable if its all adults.

There's a small pool but I rarely see kids and I go often, also remember it's nude. I wouldn't take them if you're relying on other kids being there.

Do you tip the scrub lady before work after service? And do I pay for everything up front when I reserve time?

Hi. This is a great question. I was wondering this same thing. Then I realized, I'm completely nude and I don't have a way to tip her. The tip is included in the cost of the spa service. When you walk in you are assigned a number and a key on a… Read more

Can I go there with my 9 months old baby girl with me?

No, the spa is meant for adults and accompanied children. Babies may be able to be left at the day care.

Can you leave and come back within the 12-hour window?

No, once you leave you cannot re-enter without paying admission again

Anyone know if mens pool is open yet? Thanks!

YES! It opened the last week of October and increased the closing time to 9 pm. It was so nice to enjoy the bade pool again after nearly two years!!!

    Open 24 hours yet?

    No, they're only open 9am-9pm

Is there food available for purchase (meals or snacks)?

Yes, they have a very delicious and Korean based restaurant and there's a snack bar stead that is opened.

Are the pool and cafe open? I've seen reviews saying they're only doing massages and the rooms.

The pools are closed, massages are appointment only. The cafe is open but the restaurant is closed. Yes most of the rooms are open.

Is everything open - including the bade pool and saunas?

When I visited in July, the women's bade pools/sauna/scrub etc. were open, all of the rooms were open, and the snack bar was open. I didn't try to get a massage or eat in the restaurant.

Has anyone gone recently? what is it like with Covid? do you have to wear masks in the pools, etc.?

No masks inside wet area. Some wear masks relaxing in the various saunas.

If you want a scrub down is it mandatory you get in the pool? I'm trying to see if I can skip being nude in public and just get my body scrubbed.

Body scrubs are performed in the wet area where nudity is required. There is a high wall surrounding the area but not really much privacy. You will be seen naked. You should also soak in a hot tub immediately preceding the scrub. If you do that, the… Read more

Does the cost of admittance include the bade pools or just the sauna and the rooms?

It includes the pool and the saunas.

Is there an up charge for staying overnight?

The entrance fee ($40) is good for 12 hours. If you stay longer than 12 hours, they charge you another $40. So you could come at 8pm, soak, get scrubbed, use all the facilities, and the restaurant would still be open - as long as you leave by 8am,… Read more

Is Spa World Disability Friendly or Wheelchair/Walker Accessible?

    Yes. They are accessible.

For the body scrub do they scrub the WHOLE body or certain areas?

They scrub the whole body - which means they are going to go all the way up inner thighs and do your boobs (which I like because my underboobs get itchy from my bras). Never had anyone go completely into my butt crack but they do your cheeks. They… Read more

Should I do the 25 minute ($55) or 55 minute ($95) body scrub? Which attendant do you recommend?

I like the 55 minute because it includes the scrub, a cucumber facial and a scented oil rubdown. You don't get to pick your attendant, I've found they all do the same thing in the same order.

What's the pool area like? Does it look like the pictures? Also do they provide you with slippers/sandals for the pool area?

The spa looks exactly as pictured. You're not allowed to wear any clothing in the pool area and I am pretty sure that includes slippers as well.

Do they have pools/hot tubs in the common area?

No - the pools are in the men's and women's only locker room areas. The common area has a number of hot rooms, lounging areas, and food.

Well needless to say, we will be on the hunt for a better spot- FOR SURE. Here's what our feedback was to the establishment since they asked, and I decided to share here in case it's helpful to anyone thinking about going here: "The overall experience was disappointing and did not meet the standards expected of a professional wellness or spa environment. The walk between buildings felt awkward and disjointed, and the areas where services were provided were visibly unclean. This immediately detracted from the sense of calm and comfort that clients typically seek when booking spa services. The sauna instructions were overly complicated and nonintuitive. Rather than supporting a seamless, stress-free experience, the setup required unnecessary effort and attention at a time when guests should be able to arrive, decompress, and enjoy the service. One of the facials was particularly concerning. The provider fell out of her chair during the session, left the room for approximately 15 minutes within the allotted service time, and complained openly about missing supplies that had not been ordered. Her presentation and behavior appeared impaired or otherwise not fully attentive, which was alarming in a setting where professionalism, focus, and client safety are expected. There were also sanitation concerns. Gloves were not worn during the sessions- in particular extractions & close facial work, which raised hygiene and safety questions. Given the nature of skincare treatments and direct contact with facial areas, adherence to clear sanitation protocols is critical. Both facials were performed below expected standards. Product application felt careless rather than intentional for both clients. Creams were applied in a manner that resulted in product entering the nostril area for both clients. In one instance, the technician had to awkwardly clean the inside of a nostril during the service, which was unexpected and uncomfortable (and something never experienced prior). In the other facial, cream entered the nostril and remained there throughout the session, creating concern about inhalation; the client ultimately had to clean it out herself after the session. This experience was distracting and far from relaxing. Additionally, massage and sculpting techniques reflected a noticeable lack of refinement and training, particularly for clients accustomed to higher-quality services. Overall, the experience lacked attentiveness, professionalism, cleanliness, and the level of care expected in a premium setting."

*Part 3 Of 3* 2/1/25…read moreTHE MASSAGE EXPERIENCE: Once I dried myself off, I tried to put on the tiny woman's robe again, but the results were a nothing doing. In the end, I wrapped the robe around my waist and headed back into the room I started in. I could have saved myself the time and trouble by walking back to the room B.A.N, but that would be considered inappropriate and I probably would have been seen if I had. I saw no one walking back to the room. Back inside I saw i had missed a largely section of water still on my body. Drying off the water, I choose one of the massage beds that could be set up for couples massage. Personally, I prefer the solo experience of a massage. It's a me time thing. Once on the table, I found myself sandwiched between the fabric of soft sheets and a thin, but warm blanket. As a precautionary measure, I used my towel a a barrier between my naked body touching the sheets. It's just something I do at most Massage Establishments. I don't like putting my face in the face cradle, because people cough while in them and germs and viruses have a way of coming home with the new host. I either use a face barrier or don't use the face cradle/hole in the massage table. If i am asked about why this is, I normally say "I am claustrophobic" and that end the questions for that discussion. Some time passed between laying on the massage table and the next person who would be doing my massage. The Massage Therapist turned out to be a lady named Jen...at least I think so. Jen did not waste much time once in the room. She started with the preliminaries of needing and probing to loosen up my tight muscles. This seemed to take a while and I am not sure how much time was used out of my "50 minute massage." 50 minutes is not an hour massage and its very...oh, well get to that. Jen ended up climbing on to the table doing what I call The Cat Massage. She used her knees, arms and body weight to massage my upper and lower body. I found this enjoyable while it lasted. Once the preliminaries were over, sections of my body were exposed from the sheets to be massage. Jen followed her training of draping for a professional massage therapy session. Jen massaged the arms, shoulders back, glutes, legs and feet. This cover the 50 minutes and did not include the face and front of my body. The massage was okay, but I did not feel completely satisfied at the end of the massage. My body had only had moisturized by massage cream onto half my body. I spend time getting the other half of my body up to par before getting dressed. I still think 50 minutes is not enough and felt incomplete. It like the Baltimore Ravens performance of failing to achieve a superbowl appearance from 2018-2024...depressing and incomplete. Maybe I should follow Kratos's advise of "Keep your expectations low and you'll never be disappointed"...as far as the playoffs are concerned...but I am digressing here. I felt like Strider Hiryū running down the ramp on my way back to my vichele. Thoughts were running through my head. All and all the $210 not including time was a bit pricy, but worth the body scrubbing and Bath for $130...If one chooses that as an option. You also get ten bucks off of you are paying in cash for whatever service you aquire. Keep in mind, it will most like have to be above $60 to get this $10 discount. "I could be wrong now, but I don't think so." I will be back here to do this again, but with the things I talked about in this review. I will have another updated review when this happens. Oh, and the missing ten minutes out of ACTUAL 60 MINUTE MASSAGE can make a significant difference to that individual. You might want to look into that. not a sermon just a thought.

Hands down, this is the BEST place to buy a hot tub in the Washingron-Metro Area! I was desperate…read moreas my 20 year-old one kept giving me problems so I decided to get rid of it. I wanted a hot-tub by Christmas when looking at options in November 2020. I didn't want to overpay and I wanted specificity details with mine - small details, trust me. After extensive Google searching and talking with people I stumbled upon Capitol Hot-Tubs. I gave them a call immediately after pursuing their website and got the best salesman ever! Jason Strom, was super polite, fun, and eager to help me find my Nect hot tub for a value. Well, he delivered and although I did t get my hot tub by Christmas, he promised it would come mid-January and YES it did! I'VE BEEN ENJOYING IT FOR ONE MONTH NOW AND ITS ONE OF THE BEST PURCHASES I HAVE MADE IN MY LIFE!

Sorry to have to write a bad review. Bought the Grandee from the Fairfax store about 5 years ago,…read morehas worked great except for the cover lifter. Getting service this year has been a nightmare. I replaced the entire mechanism for ~$1200 last year. This year (in March 2026), it detached from the hot tub, rendering it unusable in the prime spring weather. - I spent the last 10 weeks trying to get someone to come out to repair it (offered to pay full price) but no reponse. - Initially spoke to someone in the service center, who told me I needed a "bracket", and that it was on backorder. - A month later (in April), I reached back out to service center to check on status. I was told the original person I spoke to was no longer with the company, and the part wasn't the issue. - I asked to speak with a manager; was told to speak to Jeff. - Left multiple messages with Jeff, but he never got back to me. -Filled out the "service form", also no response. After 10 weeks, I got fed up waiting and went the DIY route. Located YouTube instructions on how to remove the panel. Once I did that, I saw the plywood they used to re-install cover lifter last year (which bears ~150 lbs of load btw) was only 1/8" thick, which would explain why the mechanism failed. I installed a 1" board, then remounted the screws on the lifting arm and closed up the panel. Fingers crossed, this will do the trick. As mentioned, the tub works mostly as advertised; Hot Springs equipment is great. However Capital Hot Tub doesn't seem to care about customers once they've made their purchase. The whole point of paying a premium price is to avoid this kind of hassle, and not have to DIY fix your stuff on the weekend.

Just doing an update because a lot has change…read more Right now they have a spring special $30 for the month of May only Monday- Friday ( not Memorial Day) Its still clean as compared to their competitor. The Bade pools ( yes you have to be in the buff) The jets aren't strong as I wanted. The steam rooms are cool. I love the cold plunge pool. The sauna rooms have a lot to offer. Hinoki room is my favorite. The outdoor pools. There aren't enough lounge chairs .. A lot of the jets dont work...and most of the time women are kiking forever on the jets stations ... The jacuzzi is small but very relaxing. As far as food, it's not worth it! Almost $30 for bulgogi??! I got scallion pancakes and it was dreadful! It's supposed to be crispy! It seemed like they microwaved it. The empanadas was ok. They sell these cute bear drink that had your choice of Sorrel ( hibiscus? Or ginger lemonade. I got sorrel but it was too sweet!! For $9!! At least the bottle is reusable. I definitely prefer this place over Parkside/Spa World. I recommend coming during the weekend, and get here early!

Still a very nice and clean spa. During Mother's Day weekend it was very busy. So, its kind of…read morenoisy if you're looking for "quiet" time. Every now and then you get noisy groups in the sauna... so you know the first timers! The onsite dining is still pretty good but prices have spiked. The 7-piece wings was good but cost $23 before taxes. We tried the Kalbi bento, which was ok. It cost $35 before taxes. Again, still a very nice and clean spa that has gotten popular, which draws in large groups along with loud conversations, even in the saunas. Recommendations: - if you are getting a massage, book early because it fills fast. - a water bottle - socks to wear indoors - slippers for the outdoor pool area - noise cancellation ear buds or headphones - eat a big meal before showing up

Repost from Google for people that use yelp instead:…read more Here is a long review since I feel there is a lot of things to say. Started off is that for ME this is a five star experience from the first day that I stepped foot in this gym. I am someone who treats the gym like a second home; lift for a couple hours, cardio after, and stretching and recovery. I was tired of all the overcrowded commercial gyms and this place really fit the bill. This gym, in my opinion, is not for everyone though. The $199 price tag per month is over triple the amount of over any other commercial gym in the area, so unless you have more disposable income or really take the gym fairly seriously, then I would think twice. With that said, the price, in my opinion, is well worth it. The staff have all been super nice and Katie was there to hold my hand each step of the way, figuratively, showing everything from the app and amenities, to how to validate the parking. Before I even signed up she made me and my Fiancé feel like VIP guests. Equipment wise there are so many hi-low cables, LAT pulldowns / rows, and leg machines than any other gym 10 times the size would just fill with 100 treadmills rather than equipment people actually use. Machines are PREMIUM and have the best resistant curves and arm paths that I have ever felt. Don't like leg day? I guarantee you'll look forward to them here! Five different squat machine variations, every isolation machine you can think of, they probably have it, and if you don't like machines, well they have five, I think, deadlift platforms that double as squat racks, then and additional two power racks on top of that. I don't think I have ever needed to wait for a machine or piece of equipment besides their gym80 lateral raise machine (oh this machine makes the membership worth it itself) The trainers all seem knowledgeable and are all super friendly if you have a question for them in passing, and I also have seen Tess for their in house nutrition, who was great in giving me the information I needed to reach my goals. Between the gym, PTs, nutrition the only way I can fail is my own willpower to stay consistent. Cardio wise I have never really seen the treadmills completely full, but there aren't too many and there are multiple different brands of treadmills that will spam and minimize your workout until you log in and create some account with them, which is actually super annoying (looking at you technogym!) and I have accidently hit the stop button more times than I can count, which might just be a skill issue, but I haven't had that problem anywhere else so I am nitpicking there. The few times I have used the sauna and steam room it was clean and the people using it were all respectful of space and being sure to cover themselves appropriately. Making it much more comfortable while I am about to pass out while chugging water in the sauna. I have not used the cold plunge nor think I would ever want to so no comment on that. So yeah.... that's it I think. TL;DR: Gym is expensive but if you take the gym and health seriously then it is well worth the price tag, or if you just are in that higher tax bracket lol. So many high quality machines it'll bring a tear to your eye when you first use them. People I have run into are very nice and respectful.

I've been a member at VIDA Fitness for about a year now, and my mom is actually a founding member,…read moreso I've seen the gym from both a long-term and more recent perspective. When I first joined, the experience felt aligned with the "luxury" brand they promote. The classes are still a highlight because they're engaging, well-run, and one of the main reasons I've stayed. I also genuinely like the bar area, and most of the food I've had has been solid. That said, the biggest issue for me, and it's a major one... is cleanliness. It's honestly disturbing to see the same stains on the gym floors day after day. I understand the flooring is a neutral color, but that's not an excuse for it to look visibly dirty all the time. The areas near the windows and equipment are especially bad. At $200/month, I expect a consistently clean facility, and that standard is not being met. The bathrooms are no better. The floors often look stained and unclean, and there are almost never toilet seat covers available in the women's restroom. It feels like basic upkeep is being missed regularly. The cold plunge has also been an issue!! I've gone to use it before and noticed a visible film, which made it completely unusable. That shouldn't happen in a facility marketed as high-end. On top of that, the staff isn't particularly welcoming or attentive, which adds to the overall disconnect between the brand and the actual experience. To be fair, not all of this falls solely on the gym.. many members don't wipe down equipment after using it. But that's exactly why there needs to be stronger oversight and more consistent cleaning protocols in place. During the summer, the rooftop pool gets extremely crowded. The pool itself is nice, but it's clear they need more staffing during peak months. Service becomes very slow, which takes away from what could otherwise be a great amenity. As someone who works in facilities and understands operations, this feels like a management issue. There needs to be more attention to daily maintenance, cleaning standards, and overall quality control. Right now, it simply does not reflect the luxury experience being advertised. I'm willing to give it a little more time to improve, but based on my experience so far, I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5
