I came here as part of my relaxation bday weekend and wanted to try somewhere different since I have already done the King Spa location. I also found a groupon to visit for like $22 and I felt like you couldnt beat that. The placement of this locations just seems odd to me, like in the middle of a shopping center and not a stand along building. Upon walking in, the place smelled clean and fresh and the front staff was really friendly. They explained everything to explore within the building. After locking away our (me and a friend) shoes, we decides to start with the bade pool. My....we were certainly overdressed in bathing suits. With King Spa, we knew the bade pool was only for nude, however here...it was optional and we were the only 2 people with bathing suits on. After spending some time there, we explored the sauna rooms. To me, they all felt really hot... like there were no in between rooms. There is a ice room but thats it. Nothing in between. After going from one hot room to a another, we got some mats and laid near the TV to relax. We did see that there were food options given but decided we had a big breakfast elsewhere. We also didnt opt of any services. At the end of the day, we spent about 1.5 hours here and I wasnt really impressed. Im glad I was able to visit, but it you go to King Spa and then here, it will feel like a little downgrade. read more

Been here many times over the years. Was my favorite. I recently visited, and traveling from MD, starting off the reception was rude and snappy. The first bath was nice and i went on a weekday so not crowded. Food was good. While relaxing i tried a couple rooms but one was closed off, not a good sign. Went on a Saturday and had an awesome time. The pool and locker areas were clean and quiet. The saunas were amazing. My only suggestion would be for some of the saunas to have lower lighting and that the hot tubs were actually hotter. We enjoyed the food we ordered at the restaurant. I didn't feel rushed during my foot massage and everyone was so kind. Next time I'll be better prepared and will bring my own body wash and a face mask. read more

Okay first off this is a VERY HOLE IN THE WALL EXPERIENCE I'm reading reviews like are you all okay? This is incredibly traditional and you need to be prepared. It's not even expensive it's like 25-35 on groupon, and you can stay there all day. What else do you want it's gonna be a naked experience unless you want to bring a bikini they don't care. I've never had an issue as a black woman in this establishment a lot of peoples issues are a you problem not this place. Obviously bring soap/body wash and just calm down. It's always clean when I go I watch them clean it too, they do a thorough job. The 1 star reviews are so dramatic, it's sauna and steam rooms and you can stay for all day. I'm so over people not understanding traditional bath houses and complaining it's not luxury, it's not supposed to be. Bring some headphones a book and if you want to spend more you can get a facial, body scrub, or a really good massage. If you're just paying the entry fee please lower your expectations it's so cheap. I always come out more relaxed, skin clearer, if you don't like this place it's a YOU problem. read more

This was a very relaxing experience! I had a Groupon, and entry was easy. They gave us locker keys and uniforms for the poultice rooms. While the uniforms were bright orange and not particularly flattering, they were pretty comfortable. The bade area was so relaxing. I especially loved the waterfalls. They were a great shoulder massage. It was a lot of fun to explore all of the poultice rooms. To my surprise, my favorite ended up being the cold room (about 40°). I also liked the decoration of the dome-shaped 140° sauna. However, the floor was really hot and unpleasant to step on. I do wish they had mats covering the entire floor. Such a relaxing and immersive experience at this day spa! I highly recommend going on your exact birthday. You can get free entry if you show your ID. My favorite part of spa world were the Poultice rooms! There were 7 different rooms made of different materials and set to different temperatures. I liked that you could see what temperature they were from the outside before going in. The Amethyst Gem room was beautiful and exactly as pictures. The Red Clay Room was also unique and made me feel like I was in a hot desert cave. My only note would be that they should have the mats cover the whole floor in the hot rooms because the floor got to hot for most people's feet and was not comfortable to walk on. My favorite room was the Ice Room. It was very relaxing to go into to cool off after entering the other hot Poultice rooms. The Bade pools were also very nice. They are separated by gender. Cell phones are not allowed inside. You can go naked or wear a swimsuit. They had smaller pools set to different temperatures as well. Overall spa world was really relaxing and a great place to spend the day. I came here on my birthday in august, 2023. My two friends and I walked in with awe of how cute the long hallway to get back was. We were greeted, and paid for our entry (mine was free for my bday, which I think they do until September, but bring your id!). We put our outside shoes up in our lockers, and put our fresh flip flops on to walk inside with. We immediately got naked and got in the warm pool and tried out some hot tubs & the steam room (hot!). We then made our way back to the locker room to put on our KSpa issued prison 'fit to go in some of the mineral rooms/saunas. We enjoyed bouncing in and out of the different rooms. We then got some drinks at the snack bar, went to sit/lay down for a little rest, and then decided to get food from the restaurant. The food was so official- it tasted like Korea (from the two of us who lived there before). I was shocked and felt so nostalgic. I got the Spa Special, which included a scrub, deep tissue oil massage, jelly-like mask, and a shampoo & conditioner with scalp massage. I wish the scalp massage was longer, but I really enjoyed every single bit of it. 5/5 I recommend! I loved every minute of it, and I loved that the men's area was shut down so it was all women. First time visiting a Korean spa, it was so fun. I started with the hot tubs, then got a 25 minutes scrub, then the common area, the restaurant and then the red clay sauna. The hot tube area is very similar to a Japanese Onsen, you first clean yourself at the sit down sink area, then go soak in the hot tubs with different temperatures. Then I went and got the scrub, it was very intensive and I think 25 minutes is a good amount, any longer I wouldn't think I would have a y skin left, haha. I love this Korean spa! There are gender separated locker rooms where in the specific gender areas, there were pools with three different temperatures: cold plunge, medium, hot pools. There were also a steam room and dry room in the specific gender areas where it's clothing optional. Also there is also a common space where you wear the clothes they give you to access the common room. It's co-ed and there are several areas to lay around and talk with one another. There are also several heated saunas such as the clay room with clay beads, charcoal rooms, gemstone rooms, ice rooms, and more! I went with my cousin who had went here as well as their other location in a different city. This was my first Korean Spa experience and overall, I really enjoyed myself. Check-in was rather quick and the facility was extremely clean. You see staff actively cleaning the locker room area throughout your stay. I would say size up on your uniform they provide for you as they have a tendency to run abit small. The coed space where the dry saunas were was great. Areas to sit down or lay down if you please. My favorite room was the red clay room. I do wish it was actually bigger but I like the fact that there were spaces with lower lighting in there. The only room I didn't experience was the cold room. The Bade pool was also a great experience. Their bade pool attire is optional now so there were a few people with bathing suits but a great majority of people were nude. Things to consider if you are going there for your first time: 1. Bring your own slippers to wear in the locker room. I had to use the bathroom and went in there barefoot. Thank God; the floor was clean and dry. 2. Bring your own lotion, moisturizer, body wash/soap. The shower area in the bade pool had bottles marked "shampoo". There was no soap provided. So I had to end up using that to shower. 3. For my thicker girls; bring your own towel. The towels they provide are basically hand towels. I would definitely plan to visit again. I love Spa World and have been coming since it was 24/7 pre-pandemic. I love to lay in the bade pool for hours, then take some time to lay on the heated floors. We did a girls' day here and had a good time. The place is clean, which is #1 most important thing. Check in and check out were efficient. There was a line, but it moved fast. I had a foot massage, which was okay. I have an excellent person that I like and prefer a certain style. This was not that, so you can't make an apples to oranges comparison. If you like minimal pressure and lots of oil, you will like this. The poultice rooms are amazing. We went on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't "crowded" but I wouldn't have wanted more people in there than there were. I was able to get into the spaces I desired without waiting or feeling too crowded. The restaurant features genuine Korean food. I love Korean food and wanted to try something different, so I got the chicken ginseng soup. I didn't realize that it was for old or sick people. It was very bland. It's a whole tiny chicken, so I spent a lot of time picking out the bones and skin. I wish I had gone for a tried and true dish like bulgogi. I did try my friend's food and it was really good. The service isn't fast, but you're at a spa. It's meant to be leisurely. I didn't go into the water. There are tepid, hot, and cool pools as well as dry and wet saunas in that area. You can also get a body shampoo. That section is separated by gender and you can go naked or with a bathing suit. It smells strongly of chlorine, which is why I didn't partake, but members of my party said that was their favorite part. My favorite was the charcoal room and the ice room. The single sex hydro area is very freeing. Everybody kinda their own business and I can just relax. Sometimes it does get loud but all in all it's a good time. I love the Poultice rooms as well. They remove toxins and I always just feel brand new. The massages are pretty good and the body scrub while a little rough leaves you feeling butter soft. The restaurant has good if somewhat price food The only downside is that they close at 10 but they start shutting off the warm bath, hot tub and chill tub at 8:00. I spent a whole day here and really enjoyed it! There are separate spaces for men and women. Please be aware that almost everyone was nude. I wore a bathing suit. I have mixed feeling but my first visit today didn't exactly leave me refreshed. I got the Scrub Special that included a scrub, full body massage, and hair wash. The scrub itself was fine, but the massage was insanely painful- I had to constantly ask for her to use less pressure. The scrub table is also not exactly a massage table so it's awkward lying face down on it. I don't know if there was supposed to be conditioner applied to my hair but I only received the shampoo. When the service was done- she asked how much I would like to tip and I responded 20%, not know that tip was already included??? Why didn't anyone at the front desk tell me this or have a sign when I'm signing my bill. Also- never pay full price for admission- Groupon constantly runs promos for less than $25 for entry. I'm sure I will go back during the week in the mornings when it's less crowded; it's less convenient than Balian Springs but a fraction of the cost. My fiance and I came here due to a Groupon deal. It was around $50 for 2 of us. We didn't think we'd stay there long but we were easily there for 4-5 hours and ate lunch in the cafe there. The cafe food was tasty, I got the yakisoba noodles and the portion and taste was just right. They give you clothes to wear and the bracelet you wear works on your lockers and you can also charge it for food and other items you buy while inside so you don't have to worry about your wallet The place is very large and there are a wide variety of poultice rooms that were spacious enough that even though it was getting crowded we were still able to find space (in most). You do have to be fully naked for the pools and saunas but people were respectful and no one was weird about it. I'm only removing a star since the customer service could be better. This was our first time so we were confused on where to go and how things worked and the workers could have been more helpful/friendly. I've been frequenting Spa King since they opened and haven't been to spa world much since. I visited spa world today, Thursday and spent a few hours there. I enjoyed the cold pool, which was closed the last time I visited, also enjoyed using the sauna and steam room. Things I didn't enjoy included the sign in the sauna that said "no urinating" and the sign on the stream room saying the police will come if there is sexual activity. It's a gross reminder of some of the clientele there. Also didn't like that some guys were only there to post up in the pool and just look at every nude guy walking in and around. Made it very uncomfortable to move around. It's too bad this place attracts some deviants and pervs. Plus there was stuff floating on the bade pool surface and other grime that made it feel gross to be in. Also, the male locker room attendant was eyeing up everyone it seemed and wasn't doing his job of cleaning up towels laying everywhere. read more

I went to Spa World with a friend using a Groupon. The Groupon covered: uniform, access to the poultice rooms, access to the Bade pool and saunas for $31.50. Regular admission with those amenities on their website is $40.00. When getting your uniform, if you aren't a small, I'd suggest sizing up. You're going to be in your uniform (v neck cotton top, elastic waist long cotton shorts with pockets) for most of the day and you want to be comfortable and not restrained in the poultice rooms. Quite a few of the amenities seemed to be out of service on the day we went - the cold room, a lot of the jets in the bade pool area and the poor girl at the juice bar was by herself so it took a very long time to get our drinks. Also, the pictures on the website are very enhanced! It was a bit of a shock when I went to the pool area from the women's locker room. With all that said, the facility was extremely clean! I loved that you were assigned a locker and anything extra you wanted to add for the day was just put on your account using your locker number You're given a locker key attached to a stretchy bracelet you wear on your wrist. Also, we added facials to our day and they were super relaxing ($95 for a 30 minute mini facial) and our skin was glowing even days after! The clay ball poultice room was such a unique experience and I highly recommend trying it. Lastly, the food - I was SHOCKED at how incredible the food was. We both loved our dishes and the portions were huge for a decent price. Definitely make sure you leave time for food when you go. read more

I've been coming to spa world since 2016 and have LOVED it. I feel as though with the opening of King Spa and Balian Springs and then dealing with Covid they've been in a space of trying to keep up with their competition rather than standing tall as the most AUTHENTIC Korean bathhouse in the area. The yellow jade floor in the common area used to be heated and it's been broken for years. Was there just today and the bade pool in the women's locker room was FREEZING. There's never any consistency to the temperatures of the pools anymore which is extremely sad. The ice room is broken and closed 50% of the time I go which takes away from my enjoyment of the poultice rooms. Instead of leaning into their authenticity they've instead spent money on new TV's, adding permanent makeup services and body contouring. I appreciate the new website but I'm sure the money spent on the new flat screens could've gone towards repairing the heated floor or the ice room or the temperature controls for the bade pools. I highly suggest management stop trying to keep up with the competition and create a lane no one dare enter. That and go back to being 24/7; those were the best nights! I'm going to give it a decent rating because it's such an amazing space and the pricing (though increased due to inflation and to keep up with competition) is some of the lowest in the area. Upon entering it's a tiny shock that it's full on nude but the spa life is calling and honestly, that's truly all that mattered. The hot tubs hit the spot - all I needed was a neck rest! We got dressed in our spa fits and headed to the coed area. Loved how many people had books and games, plus the ice room was a nice addition. Unfortunately we missed out on the restaurant (closed from 3-4) and the snack shop next to it doesn't have much. Wish it was more healthy choices since it is a spa. My smoothie was okay, just too sweet since I think syrup was used. I had mentioned to the front desk it was my first time and they really didn't have much information to share. This has always been my go to spa whenever I get a day off of work and need some space to relax. The bade pools make for a really relaxing experience and I love coming here to soak and get my mind off things. I love the pools but the hot jacuzzi is definitely my favorite. Unfortunately, there are certain communities that seem to break the rules of the room, bringing in the cameras and phones and taking pictures while also vaping. The other women were very uncomfortable and we were surprised that no staff stepped in to remove them after several women had their pictures taken within a selfie. It is unfortunate, because this place really is an amazing experience when these communities aren't here to ruin it. That being the only issue, I recommending coming in on a weekday. Very minimal children, and the juice bar and restaurant were not too packed so the options were open and easy to access. I splurged on a shiatsu massage and my god it was worth it! Tina removed what felt like years of knots, and I left feeling lighter and looser than I had felt in years. THANK YOU for that! The most important point I am most thankful for is that the establishment is Trans friendly, and it made the entire experience much easier. I was able to call ahead and get permission to wear a bikini bottom as a consideration for the other women that are there. The last thing i wanted to do was to draw attention or make anyone uncomfortable, so I was able to work with the staff to make myself and the other women feel comfortable. I think it went very well and nobody seemed to mind or pay attention. If anything, the communities who came in and took pictures of the pools and of the women around them seemed to be the biggest transgression. Ever since I visited my first onsen in Japan and learned that there were similar spas in the states, I've been hooked. I recently moved to the DC area and as the weather was getting colder, there have been less activities to do outdoors. I hopped on Groupon and I stumbled across Spa World. A friend recommended it, and it was just perfect timing since I was extremely sore from a workout. Admission from Groupon is extremely affordable considering you can stay as long as you want. There are pools with different massage jets, an umbrella fountain, showers to bathe, two hot wading pools, and one cold pool. In the bathing area, there's also a wet sauna (~123°F), a dry sauna (~200°F), and an infrared sauna where you lie down but don't feel the heat on the outside, but the heat builds from within you (so they say!) NOTE: the pools are separated by sex and you are NOT allowed to wear swim suits; i.e. full nude bathrooms and pools. Be prepared for that culture shock! There are also poultice rooms with different benefits -- see photos posted with the descriptions. You really do feel a difference after experiencing each of rooms! (I may be biased since I'm an energy healer and believe in each of the healing properties of each stone situated in each room) I haven't done any add on services like body scrubs or massages, but if you really are in need of one, they offer them here! They also have a cafe that offers a wide variety of Asian food (mainly Korean since it's a Korean style spa: jjim jil bang / ). They have smoothies and ice cream at a counter adjacent to the saunas/poultice rooms/coed lounge, and they have a closed off room to sit down for hot foods/entrees. Note: admission may be super affordable, but the food seems a bit up-charged for what it's worth. Regardless, if you're staying for the whole day and you can't bring your own outside food... it's worth. I so loved the rappoki which was a mix of rice cakes and ramen, and their bibimbap. I went on a Saturday and the lady who was serving food was the sweetest ! Gotta love people who love their jobs and make you feel at home!! I plan on trying new foods the next time I go (I love me some TTEOKBOKKI ) If you do go, make sure you set aside at least a few hours to get your time and money's worth. You won't regret it. So orange is not the new black! Here are the key take aways from my spa world experience: 1. As I stated at first, orange is not the new black. The jumpsuits (shirt and shorts) they provide are not flattering at all but definitely comfortable and get the job done. 2. You can walk around barefoot or with slippers/slides/flip flops. They do have some for sale if you forget 3. if traveling with someone of the opposite sex (such as myself) they DO NOT have a unisex pool or water area :( that's why I had to mark it down a bit 4. So AFTER the initial shock of having to be nakey lol, the bade water area was really relaxing and none of the women made it weird and did their own thing. 5. This is for those looking a rest/relax/chill. There aren't any bells or whistles but multiple poultice rooms that are truly relaxing and an open area where you can lay out. They do offer massages, facials and scrubs for an additional charge. All in all it was a nice relaxing time and I would definitely come back and try a massage. I tried ALL the poultice rooms and my favs are the clay balls, blue onyx, and surprisingly the ice room. One huge benefit of this spa is they have a children's room/area. Liked the location was near H Mart, Trader Joe's, and Lidl. First impression upon walking in was that it was serene, quiet, clean. Staff at front counter were quick and friendly to issue keys for lockers. As first time going to a bath house, I thought the various types of steam rooms were great and it was interesting to have hot and cold mineral rooms. Size of pools and number of showered were fine. I maintain my view point that Spa World is the best option available but is lacing in truly being a great bath house. I was disappointed by the food I got at the in house cafe/restaurant (tteokbokki - 2* and it does not come with side dishes like all of the other meals) and need to remember to eat at one of the surrounding restaurants next time. read more

Really good spa experience. Had a very relaxing time and a great massage. The check-in was relatively smooth. The staff were nice and helpful throughout the experience. Some cons include some areas are outdated and could use some repairs or upgrades, and the lighting could be improved as well. read more
