Upon checking in at around 8:30pm we were looking forward to having a drink and maybe dessert. The website says that restaurant & bar are open until 9 weekdays and 10pm on Saturday. We were told that the bar & restaurant in lobby looked like it wanted to close and in fact we're closing. We were given the option to leave our bags at desk and go over. Not have bags brought to room, not to get settled & come back down. When we got to the floor we were staying on there was a cool enclosed rooftop bar. My daughter asked how late they would be open and was told "we just closed". When she asked what the hours were they just said well it is slow so we closed. A city hotel, holiday weekend one would expect an option to settle in a nice space and relax without heading out. I think we would be more likely to try the graduate hotel during our next trip to New Haven. A little customer service goes a long way.

When visiting there, it feels as if you're travelling back in time to the 1800s. The rooms look classy and timeless, and the beds are super comfortable. The building itself is astonishing and the surrounding land is gorgeous. The breakfast tastes great and is filling. And the wifi is extremely fast. The people that run the place are very nice and accommodating. They make it feel like a home away from home. It's always a peaceful and relaxing experience at the Fitch House.
