Unfortunately, even has owners at the Nanea this place is beyond disappointing. We will not be back. Jennifer (front desk) made an error in booking a male therapist instead of a female therapist (That we confirmed clearly during the reservation process). Instead of assuring us that this would be corrected, Jennifer took the position of "Too bad", and "he's now waiting to begin services", further that "It was too late to cancel, and we will be charged full price should we not do the service". At the end of the day they did correct the situation with a female (as originally reserved) but not without an unprofessional, unpleasant attitude. The manager, Jonnah also does not care. On the way out (this part was funny) there were 2 cockroaches in the steam sauna when walking out. The Westin staff did say they would take care of that but I am not sure if they did. For the prices charged, one could go to the Four Seasons or Grand Wailea and have a much, much better experience. I did give 2 stars because the actual massage was decent. read more

I absolutely loved my experience at Spa Helani. The women's locker room and lounge were very peaceful, clean, and relaxing. They had cold water and hot herbal tea available as well as a selection of nuts to snack on. The spa attendant was kind and made sure we felt comfortable with the process and whereabouts of the spa. My husband and I both received the signature massages which were incredible. Sentina and Chavi clearly are experienced masseuses, really knowing the right pressure points and muscles to target for relaxation and pain relief. I also loved the aromatherapy provided (I got lavender chamomile) and the pineapple oil they used during the massage as it added a tropical touch to the spa service. read more

While staying at the Marriott Vacation Club for a property preview, I took advantage of a fabulous Hydra Facial at Spa Helani. Soji provided my service and was absolutely excellent. This is one of the best facials I have ever had. I have had many facials by the way. Unfortunately the facility was having some repairs done to the steam room, but that was OK. Their facilities are beautiful and gave me exactly what I needed. Soji was excellent and clearly knew everything about the machine that is used for the Hydra Facial. Prior to booking she gave us a little preview of what it looked like and what would happen. My husband got one as well. I can't wait to go back and do it again. Highly recommend. read more

My husband and I had massages here and they were wonderful! Troy was my massage therapist and checked in a couple times about pressure. At the beginning I told him I liked medium with a bit of firm pressure and he did just that for the heavenly signature massage. The only downside of the spa here is that it doesn't have its own pool, hot tub, etc. Like many spas have. There is a steam room and the relaxation room is nice. This is definitely a splurge with your typical resort spa prices, but the massage was worth it! read more

I got an 80-minute therapeutic massage which advertises firm pressure, trigger point release, etc. While it was a pleasant massage, only about 5-10% was firm, and it seemed designed for relaxation rather than therapeutic relief. If you're looking for a true therapeutic massage, I'd go elsewhere. My masseuse didn't ask me anything so I finally volunteered focus areas, which she largely ignored. She was borderline hostile, very odd vibe. The facilities are fine but nothing to get excited about. No food or drinks other than plain water. Make sure you check times when booking multiple services online. I got stuck with a 1.5 hour gap between my pedi and massage. read more

This is one of the best massages I've experienced so far. My massage therapist was Nikki and she did an amazing job during my 80 minutes session. My session was "Hawaiian Lomilomi Massage". Her pressure points on me was right on point. She was attentive but not intrusive. My husband jad the heavenly spa signature massage and he was also very pleased. I highly recommend Nikki. I definitely will be requesting her again for another message at the end of vacation before heading home. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Here is our experience after shelling about 1300$ for our spa treatments here. The esthetician who did my facial - Nikki was great, would definitely recommend her. She employed some great techniques & totally relaxed me. And here is the AWFUL part - Kristi the Masseuse, would definitely not recommend her for anything, esp not for massages. Kristi was almost rude, like she hated doing our massage or something(Our couple's Polynesia ritual - pretty much ruined all thanks to her! And it was my birthday). She was NOT gentle, bumped me in a couple places. Shuffled around the table loudly. I couldn't relax at all. Nothing about this 600$ couples Polynesian ritual was soothing or least enjoyable. My husband had Emily and he didn't have any complaints. Please do yourself a favor & avoid this Spa or at least request a different Masseuse, don't spend your $$$ here. You will thank me! As a 10+ years owner, I come to KOR annually, but only have visited the spa once or twice. Activities & visiting with friends & family usually take precedence. On this visit, I decided to get a long overdue massage. I was non-specific when booking my appointment for male or female CMTs and I got lucky and Luis was assigned to me as my massage therapist. I really needed some R&R and when in Hawaii with the ohana i figured, why not splurge and treat myself. We were staying at the property next there (Marriott timeshare) so this was the spa our property heavily advertised and it was just a short walk to so I gave it a shot. For starters the spa is small. I mean their waiting room is small. About 7 seats for the room so not much privacy there. Refreshments offered were limited to cold lemon water and a hot beverage. For the price I was paying I expected more. Locker rooms were clean and well maintained and I did use their steam room which was clean and had no odor. My massage was also OK. I cam in for some sciatic pain so I opted for a deep tissue and I cant say I walked away feeling a tad bit better. My masseuse (bless his hear) was so nice but chatted with me the entire time and I didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't want to converse with him. Even post massage, they dont really offer you the chance to unwind and soak the relaxation you just had like other spas. My masseuse just led me to the women locker room where I guess I should immediately change to and be on my way. This is definitely not a spa where you can or should expect to spend hours in. I'd say go somewhere else for that price point where you can get more for your money. read more

Ok, almost everything was great, but this is an overall review compared to other spas. Scheduling online was a breeze and and the front desk person was very nice. All employees were very nice and courteous. However the spa itself is pretty much just a shower and a small tiny steam room. Spa use doesn't get you Pool use, so there's really not much to do before or after your treatment. That's what's getting the majority of the negative view. The treatment was a scrub which was to last 50 minutes. Except the rooms aren't really equipped to do that so the treatment had to be fast so that I could go shower and get all that stuff off. It came with a mini massage, so the treatment was like 15 mins, then I had to shower, then mini massage for about 15 mins. The masseuse was amazing, but just the treatment, which is structured by the spa, really didn't allow for either the massage or the scrub to be done well enough. There also wasn't an option to just do the scrub, which is what I would have opted for. So it's a bad structure of the treatment. But the employees were so nice and next time I would simply get a massage instead of a body treatment. read more

Muted colors and very knowledgeable and patient massage therapist. I had the Lomi Lomi massage courtesy of Adam and it was wonderfully relaxing and it is normally a medium pressure massage but can be adjusted according to your needs. For the 1hr session in a clean, nice smelling room with a 15%discount as a platinum SPG time share owner it still totaled to $165 with taxes. They include the 20%gratuity in their total. You will be asked to sign that you agree to the gratuity when you check in. I think my therapist deserved her full 20%! Will I go back? Most definitely! Just the location and the beautiful lounge area and the outside lanai if you prefer to read outside is worth it. Top notch shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Cold water garnished with lemon for your thirsty self. A lounge chair to recline and stretch yourself while you wait. A steam room. A locker, robe and flip flops. I recently got married in Maui and needed a Spa to host our "ladies Spa day" for about 25 women. We were staying at the Honua Kai Resort and since they do not yet have a Spa... I was directed to the Westin's Spa Helani. It was a quick 5-10 minute walk to the Resort and was PERFECT!!! Sarah Hisey (Spa Director) was so incredibly helpful and accommodating! As a bride, all assistance is appreciated and she handled all the ladies appointments directly. Also, we were given the private lanai for the morning and I was able to bring in snacks and champagne at NO additional cost! Also, the treatments were amazing and as the bride my 'Hope Package' was comped :) I highly recommend this Spa for any group, bachelorette party or individual. Great service and services! read more

For what I paid, I was expecting a much better experience. The amenities were disappointing. I really liked the idea of the spa & massage experience at the resort & thought it would be extra relaxing but all of my spa experiences back in the states were significantly better & more affordable. You don't really get anything extra. You just pay the Hawaii price for things. My massage therapist was good. No complaints. But the spa itself needs improvements. Also, don't book a 3pm appointment that ends at 4pm when the spa closes at 4pm. I thought it would remain open a little longer for guests who want to use some of the amenities after your massage but I guess I should have asked ahead of time. I wasn't told to show up early for that & an employee told me we only have time to shower after the massage. Then maybe guests should be warned ahead of time that you have to immediately leave when your massage wraps up right at closing. Very disappointing experience for $500. read more

If we return to Maui, I don't think I would return to this spa. The employees are nice, and the spa is relaxing and clean. I got a manicure to treat myself on my birthday. The manicurist was very nice, but the manicure lasted about 24 hours. She did not use a fan, lamp, or spray to set my nails. They chipped and peeled much faster than my average manicure. We also got a couples massage. I get massages regularly at home so I requested the therapeutic massage while my husband requested the heavenly (lighter) massage. The masseurs were very nice but for the price, I do expect them to use their hands to work on tight muscles. Rolling your forearm over my back doesn't do a whole lot to figure out what spots need work, or to dig in where the muscles need it. We are cat people so we were excited to learn about the spa cats which roam the grounds. I believe they are Helena, Westie, and Richard. We met 2 of the 3 during our stay - so sweet! read more

Emily is the best massage therapist I have ever had! I treated myself to the HoOla Ritual -a mud mask body massage, scalp and neck massage with oil , a shower then a full massage. I have had dozens of massages, some with good therapists, some with just ok therapists. Emily took the time to understand my shoulder and back issues and worked diligently to resolve and sooth the issues. She truly cares about your needs and puts 100% into your service. Super clean spa with nice steam-room, showers and gender specific indoor lounges. While changing the ritual type two days ago,I forgot to change the duration to 50 mins, I understood that after reaching the spa today and requested them to adjust the duration, they simply rudely declined. I would say the charges($625) are too high for a 80 mins couple's ritual. We reached a little late and ended up having a less than an hour massage. They did not try to accommodate or compensate by any means. They charge 20% service charge over the price but they clearly do not put customer satisfaction on top of their list. read more

Because we ended up with a free day on our honeymoon with no activities or excursions planned, I booked a couples massage in the cabanas outside. I asked for the "therapeutic massage" upgrade, because both my husband and I have a pretty high tolerance to massage/pain and really wanted to feel a difference from the massage. I don't think my expectations were overly high when I asked for the theraputic massage, but I honestly feel pretty disappointed in what I received- the pressure/technique just wasn't anything notable, nothing that would separate it from a typical basic swedish type massage (which was cheaper on the menu). I know the therapist knew I wanted a full-strength massage, but I feel like I wasn't getting much effort from them for most of the massage. It was neat getting a massage outdoors, but it's not like I could really even see the ocean or anything while my head was in the donut headrest thingie on the massage table. Like the restaurants and most of the resort as a whole, I have to give Spa Helani a solid 2 stars. "Meh. I've experienced better" definitely sums up my experience here. read more

While vacationing in Maui I developed an extreme pain in my middle back area. Finally, one afternoon, I decided to see if a good massage would help. Wow! It was amazing! I explained to the therapist what the problem was and where it hurt and he spent the entire hour working only on my back. He knew just what to do to alleviate the pain. After I left, I was a little sore and wondered if it would help.l Within a couple of hours I felt like a new person. No pain! No soreness! I had just 4 days in Maui to try to relax and get all the kinks out. Knowing we'd be at the Westin Kaanapali I made an appointment to Spa Helani for a massage. I went for the Heavenly Massage which incorporated mostly swedish but also any other forms as well. We (my sister and I) were running late to our appointments. We were there about 5 minutes before (though they tell you 15 to give you prep time). We were ushered into the women's lounge/locker rooms, instructed to pick a locker, grab the robe, grab a cup of tea or a glass of spa water (I love spa water) and have a seat in the waiting area. As soon as we stepped into the waiting area our masseurs were patiently waiting for us. Gil was assigned to me and he did an excellent job. He's very knowledgeable, too. So if you have questions about different techniques or why this works that way, he will definitely have an answer. The tea was chamomile-y and soothing. The water was citrus-y and refreshing. The steam room was small but since they were pretty slow that day, it was just me and my sister. Chill'n and get'n the toxins out. The showers were great with rain fall type heads. I think my only issue was the smell of the body products. I'm more of a natural clean product type person and everything the Spa provided was fruity. But outside of smelling like a tropical fruit salad (faint), the rest of the experience was quite nice. If you are staying at the villa, I would definitely recommend making an appointment. It really was nice and relaxing. I wish we had planned it differently though. I would've allowed more time to sit back and relax here and I probably would've brought a book to enjoy some quite time in the waiting lounge area, too. read more

We are returning guests to Spa Helani & have ALWAYS had a great massage. This time I had Yumi & my wife had Rob. Our couples massage in the treehouse was super relaxing - especially with the addition of the water feature. Rob was super attentive to making sure my wife was comfortable; applying the perfect pressure to loosen tight muscles without overworking them. Yumi's technique was super innovative & a refreshing change to a standard deep tissue massage. We enjoy all the therapists here - each one has a different personality & technique to help you relax & get into the Aloha spirit. CHILL-AXING!!! Lastly, Chantal & Arlene are ALWAYS SO welcoming! I had a great massage. She found the knots and I'm happy. The music was unusual and rather distracting but overall I can't complain. Everyone is very nice. I also had a pedicure by Maggie. I explained that I was put off by a painful massage about ten years back and she encouraged me to give it another go- since I couldn't hang around and enjoy the full spa amenities (small steam room, heavenly shower, lanai) that day, I returned on my last afternoon before the redeye out of Maui. What a great decision! Splurged and used our SPG star points on an 80 Minute massage by Shelby who was awesome- beautiful choice of massage oils and great skill on Shelby's part and I now love massage! I usually don't get massages at hotel spas since they are overpriced and treatments are just ok. However, I was suffering for migraine and shoulder pain 2 days in a row that I was desperate for a massage. To my surprise, Kim did a wonderful job getting rid of my knots! Pressure was perfect the entire time and the lotion she used smelled yummy :) The spa itself could use a little bit more amenities than a steam room. I guess when you're in Maui...you would rather be outside sipping Mai tai by the beach than sit around inside a spa. FYI-some of their products are 20% on Mondays and ask for $15 off coupons for treatments over $100. read more
