Carly is amazing, as is Maddi, but your hair is genuinely in good hands no matter whose chair you happen to grace. My daughter had the Queen treatment for her prom glow up! Makeup and hair looked absolutely stunning and it genuinely didn't break my bank account. My hair is extremely long, curly/wavy and thick. Due to their idiotic policy they're losing or will lose clients. When you buy service from them on groupon they force you to go on their website to book appointment and pay with your credit card although you already paid by groupon! If you can't make it first some reason it's not enough to call and reschedule...oh no....they charge you $25 punishment fee for not providing you ANY service at all. PURE REAL SCAM and if you believe in real sense stay away as far as possible. Too many other better option to choose in imo.... read more

I went to Spa Essence for a makeup application for the first time. Barbara was amazing, she made me look fresh and natural yet wedding ready as a guest for a daytime wedding and evening reception. My experience with service is not so pleasant ... Poor first impression- I had an appointment scheduled at 3PM and when I reached they said it was cancelled by mother (who by the way had no clue and would big have cancelled). Upon further probing, they had no answer on what had happened. They did something and after 10-15 wait they started my service at 3.30. The person assisting me did my highlights without even bothering to ask any suggestions on my preference and expectations. Her first reaction was I am not sure hightlight will work on your hair. This is my first time going to this spa. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with smile. I felt very welcomed. Clearly the people are Very nice and the full service spa is beautiful. I hate that I have to leave a negative review. I'm disappointed because I still had a lot of hairs after getting a Brazilian Wax. The owner, Barb did my Brazilian and she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I would have given 5 stars if I didn't have to come home and use tweezers to attempt to pulled the scattered hairs that she left behind. I even had hairs on my bikini line. Also she did not wax the butt area. The next day I left for vacation and was not confident with whether or not I missed a few hairs that she left. Sadly I would not return for a Brazilian Wax. This past Christmas I received a gift card for this place and just got around to using it this month. I got an hour massage that was just divine. I was greeted by a few of the employees and was immediately introduced to my masseuse, Carol. Carol was a very sweet older woman who went out of her way to make me comfortable and gave me the most wonderful massage. I could've fallen asleep on the table once she was done, and slept through to the next morning if it had been acceptable. Carol explained that Spa Essence uses a massage lotion instead of massage oil so you're not greasy after the massage. This was true and I welcomed it. The only thing I didn't absolutely love was how small the massage room was. Of course it doesn't need to be spacious because one spends the duration on a single table and once you close your eyes, who cares where you are. I was also excited to see gold O.P.I. (Bling Dynasty) on sale at the front desk because I've been looking for gold nail polish forever. Spa Essence also offers haircuts, facials, manicures and probably pedicures. Will be back to check out the other services. Would definitely recommend for a massage. read more

I just tried Spa Essence's new expanded services and was blown away! Bridget provided a 60 minute massage using Pevonia products that include magnesium. The exeperience was phenomenal. The space was quiet and relaxing, Bridget's technique/skill/professionalism was phenomenal and the result extraordinary. I have auto-immune issues that cause my skin to be hyper-sensitive and to experience extensive joint and muscle pain. I live about 15 minutes away and didn't know about this place until I found them on Groupon! I was able to book my appointment through FB messenger after hours. Bonus! Julie the receptionist was super friendly and able to accommodate me even though the salon was closed. I received a text reminder which it's always helpful and appreciated. I arrived just in time and was greeted by Barb. She was upbeat and full of energy. She was also the one to do my wax. I waited no more than a minute and she took me back. I recently bought the Groupon for the Brazilian wax - and I'm so glad i bought it to Spa Essence. Barb was fantastic! This was my first time experiencing a Brazilian wax and Barb was great throughout the whole experience. She was reassuring, professional, gentle and fast moving -trying to give the least painful experience as possible. I was a little uncomfortable as this was my first Brazilian, but Barb make the experience comforting and made me at ease with the whole thing as she explained to me what was going on throughout the waxing. I also had my eye brows waxed while i was there - Barb was great with this service as well. At first they were a little thick, but when i asked Barb to make them thinner she had no issues and started going back to work right away. (at some places i have been to the beautician gets annoyed when you ask for something different/more) The atmosphere of the spa in general is really nice. A very friendly salon with a talented staff who are all down-to-earth, and not what you sometimes find in the higher end salons and spas. Found this wonderful hidden gem thanks to groupon. I've never walked into a salon without feeling a bit nervous or ill of ease. However, from the moment I walked in ,I was greeted like family. My stylist Dena (sp) was amazing. She really listened to what I wanted and **poof** made it happen. Marie who washed my hair has the magic touch and was able to accommodate my special need. The owner came over to introduce herself and she was just so genuine I wanted to invite her over for dinner. I absolutley love this place. The staff is so friendly and the services are amazing. I always get my mom a gift card for her birthday for a massage and she loves going.
