Found this salon online and booked an appointment for a cut and style. I chose them due to their proximity to me and 4.5 star rating. My appointment was with Mariella. I was not disappointed! I have never in my life had someone ask me to describe my hair when making an appointment! When I arrived, Mariella sat down with me and asked me what I was looking for in a cut....she told me I would not be leaving with a haircut I didn't like....and she was 100% correct. She did exactly what I asked and I ABSOLUTELY love my hair! The salon atmosphere was very clean and comfortable. I've been going to Stars for several years to cut my hair by a very expensive master stylist there. The last several times a took a picture of what I wanted and she did what she wanted, I would then go home and cut my hair. Today I went to Great Clips in Doylestown, Pa. They did a wonderful job! My hair looks great, I look great, and I aren't even thinking of cutting it at home to fix anything! $18 at Great Clips, $60 rip off price at Stars. They call them selves "high end" and don't even treat you well. I won't be going back to be ripped off! read more

Needed a last minute dye refresh after months of neglect towards my hair. The receptionists were so friendly and accommodating when I called and asked for a same day appointment. I didn't expect them to be able to fit me in but they made room for me with an experienced master stylist. I saw Stephanie and she was WONDERFUL. I love this place!!!! I have been going to Stars for 4 years now and love it. The staff is friendly, the salon is cute and the prices are very reasonable - especially compared to Center City!!! I went to Stars for the first time after a friend recommended her stylist Erica. I'm not fanatical about my hair and generally just get a very basic cut so, aside from my friend who is a stylist in West Chester, I generally went to hair cuttery-esque place for a basic cut. One bad experience changed all that and gave me a hair cut phobia for about a year!! I ended up taking a shot on Stars, because honestly the alternatives were scary long hair or a DIY job. After several deep breaths I made my way into the salon, met with Erica and discussed what I wanted from my cut. I asked for something with movement but not too much upkeep or styling needed At the time my hair was long enough to donate for Lock of Love so with hands locked tightly on my chair my ponytail was chopped...all 14 inches of it. Erica went to work and chatted with me as she styled. The finished product was amazing! I've been going to Erica ever since, until about a month ago. I called to make an appointment with Erica and was told she did not have anything open in the evening in the near future so I took a chance and opted for a new stylist. The new stylist (upbeat friendly red head - who's name I can't for the life of me remember) was friendly and stylish and I felt comfortable right away. They were busy the night I went in and there was a shortage of hair washers so my stylist rolled up her sleeves and did it herself instead of making me wait. I was impressed because I've been left sitting with my head in one of those not so comfortable sinks more times than I think is appropriate! Armed with a few pictures of what I was hoping for we got started on my cut and before long voilà just like the picture!! I've now donated my hair to lock of love twice through Stars and both time the cut itself was free of charge. I've been donating my hair for 10 years and this is the first salon that hasn't charged me for the cut/style. Stars is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the drive!!! read more

This is a wonderful salon! Very chic, clean and friendly! You can tell the staff and managers are very well trained in their craft and there is not one stylist I wouldn't trust here with my hair. They are a full service salon, so they also offer nails, massages, and even brows and makeup. All of which are wonderful! It is a nice to see such a great salon close to home. The salon is very clean and everyone who works there is very personable and nice, but the prices are very expensive. I got an ombre and a 20 minute trim and paid over $200. If you don't mind the price, then I would definitely say to go here. My biggest problem with this salon was something that happened to me personally. When I went in to get my ombre, my appointment was for 7 PM - to begin, I already thought that was relatively late. Also, my hair is very long and thick so I knew the process would take some time. I showed my hair stylist the picture that I wanted and she then went to mix the dye. When we started the process, I asked her what she was putting in my hair and she told a lightener to lighten the ends (I wanted to go from a brunette color to a dirty blonde). The foil process took about 2 hours and then when everything was done (after my wash and cut), it was close to 10 PM. When she showed me my hair, I didn't really like it. It was blonde, but nowhere near as blonde as the photo I showed her. She didn't even dye my hair, all she did was lighten it. Of course I'm not going to question how she works because she is the professional, but I feel like if she dyed it after lightening it, it would have come out to the color I requested. I was upset because it was too late for me to ask her to dye it (we were the only ones left in the salon) so I felt like I left without getting what I really wanted. Also, to note, I know I got my hair washed after getting it lightened, but all she did was trim my hair while it was dry (it took no more than 20 minutes), and the haircut portion of the bill still cost me $60. I thought that was absolutely absurd seeing as I can go to many places in my area and get a wash and cut for $20. It's nothing against the salon as a whole, but I know I won't be coming back here. I am out $200 on something that I am not entirely happy with. read more
