She took her time during the consultation and really helped me figure out what I wanted based on my past color experiences and my inspiration photos. I am thrilled with the results and will definitely make the 1 hour trip again to see Cynthia. Worst experience at a salon in my life - going to LOVE has completely ruined my hair. I felt prompted to write this review because I recently went to a new salon, and they were horrified at my hair, asking what happened to it, and why it was cut the way it was. I showed my hairdresser this photo and she couldn't believe it, saying she had never seen anything like it. She asked me to show the manager, who was equally horrified at how someone who is a "master cutter" could destroy my hair like this. I had gone back in to LOVE to get it fixed (not much could be done to fix it without chopping off all my hair). The person who did the cut, I won't say his name, said he cut it that way "because of the way I part my hair" (???). He also thinned it out completely. It wasn't okay for him to blame me for why the haircut turned out so bad, and I was too shocked and uncomfortable to say anything to that. Another stylist, Jen, did my color, and she did a great job. She opened the salon early so I could come in first thing which was very nice. But this haircut has destroyed my hair and my hair hasn't been the same since I went to LOVE. The manager at my new salon asked me if LOVE charged me for this, (they did), and told me they shouldn't have, and should have offered free haircuts for a year, or something to make up for this. The price for the cut and color was so expensive - I believe it was around $275, not including tip. I have cried many times over this haircut that, 8 months later, has still messed up my hair. It hasn't been the same since I went to LOVE. I had been excited about this place and was hoping it would be my new salon. Would not recommend. read more

I loved Cynthia. This was my final effort to get the cut I have been attempting! She nailed it! I also appreciated the time she took to talk about what I liked about the cut and was honest with how it will lay and look and mange after she cuts it. I am very happy!! Also which literally never happens - Cynthia asked where I part my hair, like all stylists do. The difference was when she went to style my hair she made sure she parted it where I like it! Everyone else has just ended up doing right down the middle which I can't stand how it frames my face! Cynthia actually listened and took the time to get me what I came for!!! Stay away from this place! The girls at the front desk are rude every interaction I have had with them. I chose this place due to the high ratings..Scott just did what he wanted & after making the appt for a balayage & cut, he told me he did not have time for a balayage. I left there with an awful cut and 1 dimensional color that looked like crap. I thought maybe giving him another chance would be fair. A couple of days before my appt one of the girls from the front desk called me to tell me he was no longer there & we will be putting you with someone else. I had a conflict anyway & told them that I needed to cancel anyway...she said "okay"..did not even ask if I wanted to reschedule. I've always had long hair, but it's always been such a pain to maintain. For the past few months, my hair has been imprisoned in a ponytail-- a frizzy, dry ponytail. So I made the decision to just chop it all off. I asked around for some salon recommendations, I yelped and did some research online. I thought I had made my decision when I called a place in Philly and made an appointment. A week before, I had changed my mind, canceled that appointment and made a new appointment at Love Salon. At Love Salon, I was greeted kindly by the woman at the front desk. After a short wait, I was greeted with a warm smile by Tony. I told him that I wanted a pixie cut, and he sounded confident that he could give me the haircut I wanted. He put my hair into a low ponytail, held securely by multiple rubber bands.... then began to cut it at the base. There was no going back now. As Tony cut my hair, he was explaining to me about the angles he chose to use, and what he was doing exactly. He talked about hair as if each strand were living and breathing-- each strand of hair having a conversation with another. At the end of my haircut, I looked in the mirror and I was in LOVE. Maybe that's where they get their name. Needless to say, I'll be going back to Love Salon for maintenance. I can't return to long hair after this, and next time, I'm going to attempt to go shorter. read more

My daughter and I went to Love Salon for a couple years. Tony is a very good hair stylist but every time we had to pay the receptionists charged us something different. My daughter paid with a credit or debit card but I'm a bit old fashioned and still pay with checks. When I would give them a check they ran with it to the bank. I never had a problem anywhere else. At least give your client time to get to the bank. read more

Jordan cut and styled my hair. I'm always hesitant about getting my haircut with a new barber, but Jordan was nice and listened to my requests. However, I do have really thick hair and when I request that it get cut shorter it usually ends up really puffed because of all the hair being cut so short. Usually if the stylist doesn't "thin" out the hair, it becomes an unmanageable poof until it grows out again. Though, that was partially my fault for not letting Jordan know that I needed my hair to be thinned. read more

I was so desperate for a haircut the other day so I called Love to see who was available same day, as soon as possible. The owner told me that Lauren was free and I booked the appointment. I was a little hesitant at first (I usually see Tony for haircuts) but Lauren was great. We discussed what I wanted and I showed her a picture of a cut that I really liked. My haircut looked great and I was really happy with the results. I hadn't had layers in a very long time and Lauren cut them in exactly how I had pictured. She even waved the ends with a blowdryer and round brush and I walked out of the salon with the hair of a Victoria's Secret angel (that's how I felt anyway). read more
