I'm sorry to say that this one was a BIG fail for me. I went to their new location in Ambler and…read moretook my 5 year old daughter as well for one of her biggest cuts since birth (over 8 inches cut). I thought we could go together, since she was nervous and I needed gray root coverage and a good new cut/style anyway. We saw two different stylists and sat next to each other at the salon. My cut: I had asked for long layers and some shape and to please not use a razor edge to feather the layers (I personally don't care for that method or how that looks on me - I much prefer more blunt-cut layers) The junior stylist I had had no clue how to do anything but the feather/razor edge for layers, and basically acted like there was literally no other possible way to achieve a long layered cut. We went back back-and-forth for 10 minutes with her looking utterly confused at what I was suggesting. (I've had other cut methods hundreds of times. I was confused at her confusion.) She told me she's been out of school less than a year. I simply couldn't get through to her, so I gave in and had her basically just give me a boring blunt cut instead. The color she gave me was darker than I asked too, plus I left with dark marks around my face! My stylist was kind - I'm really not trying to say she wasn't, but she wasn't very warm or personable either. She seemed extremely young and checked out. My daughter's cut was the more heartbreaking one for me. She had gorgeous hair down to her bottom and we finally decided to give it a really good cut (tired off nightly tangles). It took the other gal under 10 minutes and it was completely uneven (see pic). I had to take her somewhere else to get it fixed. :( She was kind enough too but not very great with kids. Do not bring a kiddo here (I thought maybe a "real salon" would give her a better cut despite not being targeted to kids. I was wrong.) I'm really bummed because I had a lot of high hopes for this place opening up in Ambler and for finally finding a good stylist for both me and my daughter, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. The value for what I paid is really shocking to me. To pay $250 for one cut/color with a junior stylist and one child's cut and both were this bad is super disappointing.

Hands down the best Salon I have ever been too!!! I have been coming to both Scott the owner who…read morecuts my hair and Andrea my colorist for over 20 years. The only time I tried another Salon is when they moved and I could not find out where they went. I tried a couple other highly rated local Salons and none came close. Extremely talented, reasonable prices, friendly atmosphere and when I walk in there they treat me like family. Scott always greets me with a smile and hug and they always go out of there way to accommodate my hectic schedule even if it is after hours. One day I called after hours and thought I would leave a message on the answering machine for them to receive first thing Tuesday morning as something unexpectedly came up and I had to get my color done that evening. I was surprised when the call forwarded to Scott's home and his sweet, darling wife said no worries come in Tuesday night at 6:15 and Scott will wait for you. Again, much to my surprise when I arrived Tuesday evening Andrea was there to take care of me. I travel 45 minutes and will never go anywhere else even if it was offered complimentary. Try them out, you will not be disappointed and this is coming from someone who is extremely picky. Fringe is a small salon that gives you exactly what you want, they treat you like family and you receive the personalized attention you deserve!!!

The Blue Sage Vegetarian Grille, which is right across the street from Fringe is the "hottest"…read morerestaurant on yelp in my area and it has been for many months, the Fringe Salon is the "hottest" salon reviewed in Philadelphia and Las Margaritas is right next door to this Fringe location and has been reviewed a half dozen times. I have been to Las Margaritas a couple of times, but have not reviewed it yet... However, I was in dire need of a hair cut and this stucco building clicked; close to home, the reviews for the few other locations were validated as awesome and my very long, over grown mane needed to be clipped, not to mention they were voted best of Buck's County and featured as one of the top 200 fastest growing salons in the USA in Salon Today magazine. I made an appointment and was asked to take a seat in their very tiny entrance way area, which holds two chairs and one table with the most beautiful tall orchid loaded with open cream colored blossoms and new buds getting ready to explode. I hope that I am not the only one who had to play with the leaves to make sure it was real. Once seated with Lisa, she made very little small talk and was interested in exactly what it was I was looking for. I then pulled out a picture of a short bob and said I want it this short and I will put it behind my ears. She loved the fact that I had brought a picture and then sent me off to Kathy to have a great shampoo. Lisa is one cool person, very warm and genuine and once we started talking we found out that we had a lot in common and before I knew it my once very long hair was a fresh and bouncy new bob. I must say in all honesty, I have had better bobs, where the under layer was cut a bit shorter so the full effect ended up all going right under in a full fluff and when I first got home I reminisced about my long hair as I cut off one clump of eight to ten strands that were missed. The haircut, shampoo and blow dry was $50.00, which can range between $45.00 to $65.00 depending on your cut, first time customers receive a 20% discount, so go whole hog with coloring and highlights if you would like. Anytime you refer others they and you will receive 20% off and bangs are trimmed free of charge forever, which needs no appointment and believe me, this will come in handy as my hair grows quick and I am the worst at trimming bangs! Your second visit gets you a 10% discount and a free coloring or deep conditioning treatment, which is incentive to return. They also sell costume jewelry, handbags and scarves and you will be discounted 10% off your first purchase. They do waxing's, extensions, hair relaxing and straightening. The shop is attractive and wow do they ever have the clientele of all ages, they also do nails along with any hair treatments that you would like, this salon does not have a massage parlor. It is not handicap friendly due to the numerous stairs and is decorated with black slate floors and bright yellow walls. The salon is not sparkling clean, but clean enough. I did meet one of the two owners, Scott and he was quite friendly, the other owner was two chairs down and doing an awesome job on a full head of long hair, sigh. They do not take credit cards but they do accept personal checks, they have an ATM machine right inside the front door, convenient, but tacky, put it in the back. When I was paying, the receptionist forgot to take off the 20% so do keep this in mind when paying, so I rewrote the check for $40.00, plus gave my hairdresser a check for $10.00 since it could not be included in my payment, very antiquated system. 3 stars, but hey, they do accept checks, Lisa 4 stars. On your first visit you will also receive a gift bag full of literature on the services they offer, the discounts and a mini bottle of their own shampoo and conditioner. Bottom line, I am so happy that I had the long locks cut off, it was not the 10 inches they require to donate to cancer victims and they were not aware of the campaign mentioned by the shampoo gal Kathy about the hair donations to soak up the oil spills. I'm a dreamer and one day, I envision Edward Scissorhands cutting my hair and scattering the remnants for the birds to make nests in his expressive gardens. 3.5 closed Sundays and Mondays.

However, halfway into the cut she started doing her own thing and went way too short. While talking to her she made excuses and did not seem to interested in the fact that she barely paid attention to what was requested. The attitude seemed to be oh well, you can style it differently since it is so short, and never addressed her lack of customer service. The manager did not happen to be there at the time, it was no use to complain to the stylist who did the cut, she was certainly not interested in what her clients want. Other clients being serviced by other stylists at that location all seemed to have gotten great styles. I should have waited the extra time to have gotten another stylist. I will never return to that particular Hair Cuttery, I have been to other locations where the customer service was great, and cuts were done pretty good. UPDATE....after speaking with Karen at this location, I brought my daughter back in, Karen did an AWESOME job fixing what Lauren had done. To top it off the manager Megan not only refunded the last cut Lauren botched and gave us a card to return free for the next cut. And Karen would not accept a $$ tip for the wonderful work she did. These ladies truly saved the day!

This place is in the same shopping center a Maggio's Restaurant in case that's helpful to you. My GPS told me "You have reached your destination" before I was actually there so I was confused for a second. If I had known it was in the same lot as Maggio's, I would've known exactly where to go. With that being said, there is plenty of parking which *I LOVE* because it's in a shopping center. That is a huge plus for me. I like how easy and direct it is to get to ViDa Hair Studio. The inside is really nice, clean and spacious. I love how you're not on top of everyone else in there. I went here for some eyebrow tinting and waxing by Tetiana and I really liked it. Tetiana did a wonderful job. I've had bad experiences before with other places overwaxing my brows so I was nervous at first but you're in great hands with Tetiana. She's sweet and knows what she's doing. I grabbed a menu because I'm interested in trying other services there. I'm looking forward to going back to Tetiana as well as trying out some other services. OH! There is a 6% fee if you use a credit card just so you know ahead of time. Bring cash if you don't want to be subjected to the fee.

"Incredibly grateful--Debbie made my gray transition beautiful!"…read more I recently made the big decision to finally embrace my natural gray, and I couldn't be happier with the results! I was so nervous about what the transition process would look like, but Debbie made it happen seamlessly. My daughter, Stephanie, had assured me that Deb would make the transition smooth and lovely--and she was absolutely right! Debbie's expertise and warm care completely put my mind at ease, and I walked out of the salon feeling super happy and confident. If you are nervous about making the transition to gray, go see Debbie at Fresh Hair Salon. She is wonderful, and I am so incredibly grateful!

HORRIBLE SERVICE, POOR MANAGEMENT, 0 CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS…read moreI had scheduled a cut and color. I told them my current hair color, it's length, what I wanted it colored to. I drove 50 MILES, an HOUR AND A HALF, to get there. They sat me down, and said they didn't have time for my hair. The receptionist apparently messed up and didn't put in any of the information I told her. The stylist got the manager (and never came back to apologize). The manager said they didn't have time for anything- no cut, no color. She was so unprofessional. Didn't offer anything to accommodate me. Just let me sit there and cry. Fucking awful. I had been there before and spent $350, you'd think they'd treat me better. Bad service, would not recommend. Rude
