It's been a little more than 2 years since my first appointment and I'm happy to say... I still love Spa Boudoir! I wanted to update my review since Jenny's spa has moved locations since my first review and I have 2 years worth of services (still mainly wax and facials) to give my review a little more weight. While the spa's previous location was super cute, I find the new location has much more to offer, in my honest opinion. The parking situation is way better with the private lot and the location is easy to get to. Plus I'm a fan of the Mordecai neighborhood in general. The new space is cozy and I still love the warm and welcoming decor. I also love that Jenny offers packages twice a year and I recommend taking advantage when she offers her Spring and Fall package sales. I've purchased the six (6) Brazilian Bikini waxes for the price of five (5) a couple of times now and have been very happy! I love being able to pre-pay for the services so I only have to bring some cash for tip, and by purchasing the packages twice a year, I'm totally covered for the entire year and just add-on other services when needed. Don't be discouraged by it being "by appointment" only. It only takes seconds to book an online appointment thru the website and I prefer being able to do online so I have to chance to review my calendar, rather then going back and forth on possible times via phone or email. Just mentioning so that folks don't get scared away by an online appointment system, it's super easy to use and awesome!!! Jenny, you rock! First, I'd like to say that before I moved to Raleigh, I use to work at the front desk of a private spa. It was a wonderful work environment and I use to receive facials every so often from the head esthetician, but the products were not holistic (even though pretty effective). Once I moved here, I started focusing many aspects of my life towards a holistic, "green" approach. In comes Spa Boudoir and the lovely Jennifer. I booked my first appointment a few months after moving and have continued to see her since. I am 24 and have fairly combination type skin, with the occasional hormonal breakout once during the month that can often leave PIH. Jennifer does a wonderful job inspecting my skin every visit, looking for changes, and then altering the requested facial to suite your skin needs at that moment. The products she uses are gentle, yet effective and wonderfully decadent in smell (aka. the cocoa mask she may use makes you hungry). Her personality is equivalent to a sweet, nurturing aunt who is wise, youthful, and fun all balled up together in one package. The atmosphere she creates for her clients is calming and cozy, giving the client the time to relax and zen-out in the moment while listening to classical music (which is mostly Billie Holiday, whom I adore). I just had my very first Brazilian bikini wax with the extremely (talented?) Jenny! The procedure was still a major shock to the system but I can tell that if she were not so skilled it would have been much worse. From the moment I entered her spa I immediately felt relaxed. There was soothing music playing and the aroma was a delightful eucalyptus scent. She was so friendly when she greeted me and even offered a glass of wine to help me get comfortable. She talked me through the entire procedure and more importantly spoke to me conversationally throughout. That really helped take my mind off of the pain. Afterwards she used an antiseptic liquid to cut down on the risk of bacteria and to slow re-growth. She mentioned that I could purchase the products for at-home use (to maintain and exfoliate) but she was not pushy at all! I will definitely be returning to her for subsequent appointments. Oh and also as a new customer I received 20% off my treatment. At $50 full price (already less than most spas) and with 20% off, I only paid $40! The only small thing I've noticed are that there are a couple of strays (hairs) left, but she might have taken mercy on me (by not plucking) as this was my first time. I just got a chemical peel today from Jenny and my skin looks fantastic! I'd say I look between 5-10 years younger. It's amazing. People are always surprised when I tell them my age, thinking I'm younger, and I owe it all to Jenny- she is the best at what she does. Plus, the Spa is really cute and eclectic and I feel so relaxed when I go. I've had the wax, which she manages to somehow make almost painless by warming your skin first so the follicles are a little bigger and therefore, the hair comes out easily. I've had the facial, which not only makes your skin glow, but it's so relaxing, you feel like you've had a massage afterward. I've been seeing Jenny regularly for Brazilian wax services for almost 7 years and that will NEVER change. If you're reading this and have had bad waxing experiences other places (like I did before..) or you're looking for a more relaxed and hospitable environment for the first time -- LOOK NO FURTHER. Spa Boudoir is it. Jenny magically makes what can be a painful, time consuming and uncomfortable procedure into a quick and pleasant (as it can be) experience. I had an amazing experience at Spa Boudoir and received a great facial. I was a little nervous about the small house off Saint Mary's St. and didn't quite know where to park. Once I figured out to drive through the narrow alleyway next to the house and park in back, I was warmly greeted by Jenny at the door. The house was decorated adorably inside, and Billy Holiday was singing quietly in the background. Jenny was so attentive and expert, and she spent longer than the 1 hour I had booked. Okay, so I'd read the good reviews and decided to give Jenny at Spa Boudoir a go. I had a bikini wax, eyebrow wax, arm wax, eyelash tint and lip wax. Firstly, the Spa Boudoir premises are very quaint and decorated very nicely. Jenny was very friendly and personable and put me at total ease. She talked me through each procedure and did a great job of minimizing the pain during the bikini wax! She helped me to breathe appropriately which actually and surprisingly made a BIG difference! I would definitely recommend Jenny and will definitely be booking a facial with her soon. read more

Ditto to the other reviews as far as location and atmosphere and everything! I felt like I was having a procedure done by a trained professional with years of experience, who is dedicated to her craft (compared to all my other experiences that felt like I could've just talked a drunk friend into doing it for me). Jenny is careful, comforting, and able to gently instruct you through the procedure. I had a complete Brazilian in 20 minutes. The ability to schedule appointments on-line are a plus as well. I did my research beforehand and based on the rave reviews, I booked my first ever brazilian with Jenny. It is a very comfortable setting and she makes you feel at home and she has an awesome bedside manner. I thought it was painful but she knew what she was doing and she is so good she was able to calm me down so I didn't even really think about the fact that I was getting waxed. The booking online is a huge plus. You can call to cancel or change any appointment and it's no big deal. I definitely will get all my waxing done her now!! read more

Spa Boudoir is a super cute and charming spa. I am always amazed by Jenny's soothing voice and her ability to make me feel super pretty after any treatment, whether it is a facial peel, lash tint, or waxing. Jenny rocks! I have never been waxed before so naturally, I was very nervous. I walked into her studio and immediately felt comfortable. The decor is fabulous and music helped me relax immediately. Jenny has a wonderful bedside manner. I didn't feel uncomfortable or awkward. She always let me know what was going to happen next. Jenny is amazing. The spa is in a great location. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The service it's very personalized. I have very sensitive skin which can make a variety of aesthetic treatments uncomfortable.
