What a unique experience. I can easily spend 4+ hours here…read more I arrived on a Tuesday at 6:30pm and it wasn't that crowded. Upon arriving at the front desk, they give you a spa outfit, some towels, and a wristband. The wristband unlocks your shoe locker and your separate clothing locker. The hot tub area is fully nude whereas the common areas are clothed. I went to grab some dinner and had the croaker fish. The service was fast and easy. The food is a little pricey but their meals came with a lot of bonchon so it made up for the cost! After dinner, I checked out the charcoal room, ice room and salt room. All the rooms were clean and had plenty of space for relaxing! Finally, I had a body scrub appointment at 8pm. I booked the scrub with Jenny and it was an experience! For those who never had a korean body scrub before, you have to soak in the hot tub for 20-30 mins. Then your masseuse will call your name and bring you in the side room. Then you lie on your back on the table and get the ultimate scrub down! I felt so much lighter after the scrub. My skin tone was even and felt baby soft. Then she also give you a cucumber facial and wash your hair for you! My hair was super silky and smooth. They have dyson hair dryers in the women locker rooms which made it easy for me to get ready. Then, when I was ready to checkout, I brought the clothes and wristband to the front desk and I was out of there!

Franklin explained the menu very well, and was extremely kind and helpful! Selene did my consultation + hydra moisture facial and I found her to be extremely knowledgeable in skin types. I learned so much from her about my skin and about skin care!! - I found her work to be so relaxing that I legit fell asleep 3 times while she was massaging my face. The hydra moisture facial involves a head or shoulder massage I chose head, and she does a lot of facial massage too when placing the products used for the facial that was super relaxing. Katie did my SO's face and he did hydra moisture facial too and she got rid of nearly all his Black heads and white heads that I found to be very intense. I could clearly see a major difference on his nose and skin after. *I LIKE that they have a small envelope to give you at the end for your option to tip with cash but you can also tip via credit card *THEY GAVE US A FREE FLAVORED CARBONATED DRINK + SNACK for our way out which was sweet. So where do I begin…read more.. I was a little flustered when arriving to Burke Williams. It was my first time there and no one warned me about the parking situation or that I would have to go down an alley to find the spa. I didn't plan for these issues which caused me to be late. I did try to call but the number isn't directly linked to the Pasadena location. However, they did promise to forward my message. When checking in I explained this to the receptionist and he treated me with the utmost care and respect. He pushed back my appointment time by 30minutes so that I had time to settle in and prepare for my treatment which I truly appreciate thank you. I was given a tour of the spa and introduced to all the amenities. My appointment was for the 60min 4-Layer Resurfacing Facial. When booking and confirming my appointment they did give me a heads up and informed me not to use the hot sauna or spa with this type of treatment. They also suggest arriving 30 minutes early to use the amenities but that was not needed considering the treatment I scheduled. After my experience I do recommend arriving early. The Pasadena location is near old town so it's pretty crowded and busy out there. I parked in the structure by Buca Di Beppo but while walking over I saw a small paid parking lot next to the alley where you find the spa. Now when it comes to my spa experience I must say I'm very grateful to have been paired up with Brindle (I hope I spelled her name correctly). They ask you to wait in the main room at least 5 minutes before your appointment. Apparently, I wasn't checked in correctly so I was waiting a little past my appointment time. They noticed me sitting/ waiting and started asking questions to help me. I love that everyone works as a team here. They apologized for the inconvenience and got me all situated with Brindle. I have to say... Brindle is the best esthetician! Now when I saw the description for the 4-Layer Resurfacing Facial I thought it was a chemical peel but if I understood Brindle correctly it's not chemical based, it's a less abrasive peel. Regardless, I loved it! I came into that room so tense and I left feeling like I was walking on clouds. Brindle has a calming presence and a soothing voice. I love that she is not afraid to get in there when it comes to getting those impurities stuck in your skin. Also, she is great with her hands. I find that a lot of estheticians are almost afraid to apply any pressure when massaging face/body. Not Brindle! She was right on the money. Overall, I had a great experience and hope to visit again in the near future. :)

For Christmas, my boyfriend got me a sweet and thoughtful gift card to Burke Williams. I decided to…read moreuse it to explore new locations. Previously I have been to the Orange and Mission Viejo locations, so I thought it would be fun to check out the Pasadena location. It's in the Old Town area, and the nearest public parking lot is off Green and Fair Oaks. I really loathe paying for parking and having to walk over. For any first timers to Burke Williams, they are a luxury European style spa, meaning the spa area is generally naked. Bathing suits are optional. In the spa area, they have lockers, a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, showers, and vanity tables. There are also quiet rooms for napping in its' own area in the front by the lobby. This location only has the lobby as the co-ed hanging out area. Compared to other BW locations, they are smaller and more busy. I usually spend about 3 and a half hours at BWs and this time was the same. I started off with a strong shower. The other locations has their shaving cream for grabs outside, but this location has a shaving cream inside each shower. And then I went over to the jacuzzi, then the sauna, and then to the quiet room for a little nap. Then I showered again before my treatment time and headed to the lobby before my treatment. When it was time for 80 min Pure Relaxation Massage ($245 regular/$285 member pricing), Pearl came to get me from the lobby and welcomed me up the stairs. Most of their treatment rooms seem to be upstairs. The treatment room seemed to have the same equipment and general layout as other BWs but less square footage. I had an amazing time with Pearl. She started off asking me if I had any areas I wanted to focus on, and any injuries or areas to be careful with. She was thoughtful throughout the massage and made sure the pressure was to my liking. There was a good amount of massage oil used the whole treatment. I was soooooo relaxed. Pearl gave my wrist and forearm the additional attention I requested. When the massage was over, she placed my warmed robed on the table, just as expected with all BW massage experiences. I had such a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The highest compliment I can ever give someone is that I would come back and book another massage with Pearl. After my treatment Pearl walked me back towards the lobby and reminded me to stay hydrated for the next few days. She was super sweet and thoughtful and definitely the best encounter I had with the Pasadena location. After my service I went to take another shower and got ready at their vanity tables. Unfortunately there were MULTIPLE dirty brushes in the clean bin. Which reminds me the showers had a lot of hairs on the wall. Super turn off. There was a lot of staff in the spa area so I'm not sure if they missed it since it was so crowded or if they were more focused on other areas of the spa area. Staff also mentioned that this is the oldest location in the area... and I can see that... in the sense that the layout is less thoughtful than the other locations, such as locker rooms where you change is in high foot traffic areas. I waited for a bit at check out, but staff was very helpful. They were able to give me my day pass and bring a friend that was part of the gift card deal that the Mission Viejo location forgot to give me. Loved the massage and the amenities, but I don't enjoy the crowd and there's room for improvement with the cleanliness. I don't blame the business for doing well, but I do feel like they can maintain better cleanliness of their facilities for how much they charge for our services. Of the Burke Williams locations I have been to, my favorite is the Orange location which is the largest, and then Mission Viejo for an intimate quiet experience, and this places last. Nevertheless it's still a superior spa experience where I've never had a bad treatment at any BWs.

It was even featured in Beef on Netflix, so it already comes with that cinematic, aesthetic atmosphere The moment you walk in, you can feel the difference. The entire spa is designed with natural elements -- crystal chandeliers, wooden walls, and an impressive collection of over 500-year-old antiques. It doesn't feel like a typical commercial spa at all, more like a quiet, curated sanctuary for the mind. They also have separate lounges for men and women, which makes the whole experience feel more private and refined. The essential oils used are from doTERRA -- clean, natural, and not overpowering. I tried their 90-minute "Fresh Ginger & Mugwort Herbal Massage," and the whole treatment follows a very thoughtful, traditional wellness flow: It starts with freshly ground ginger applied to the body to warm you up from within -- you can literally feel the cold leaving your body Then comes hot stone therapy to raise your body temperature and deeply relax your muscles Finally, warm mugwort herbal compresses are used along pressure points, inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, leaving your body feeling light and rebalanced My therapist Tina had a very gentle and soothing technique -- not overly intense, but incredibly effective. The relaxation actually lasted longer, which is perfect if you've been stressed or not sleeping well. And honestly, the resort itself adds so much to the experience There are two 18-hole championship golf courses, plus private one-on-one yoga sessions -- it truly feels like a full-on retreat. The best part? For a resort-level spa like this, the pricing is actually very reasonable -- great value for what you get. In one sentence: This isn't just a massage -- it's a full mind-and-body reset. If you've been feeling drained or just want to escape LA for a bit, this place is absolutely worth saving

He concentrated on all of my problem areas and I felt happy and relaxed afterwards. The quiet room is clean and comfy and I was given a tasty little fruit cup. Now the bad: The price for a massage is reasonable, but you must pay an additional 39.00 if you want a to use their lockers or robe, take a shower or use the jacuzzi. This was unexpected and confusing. Before arriving, I had called for clarification of this policy and was only told that they would charge 39.00 for use of the jacuzzi. I had no idea that I wouldn't be given a robe or allowed to shower without paying the extra fee. I'm in a spa club and I have never run into this issue before. This confusion may have been due to a language barrier. The shower area has a sign saying that you must run the hot water for 10-15 minutes to obtain hot water (!). I did so and still had to take a cold shower because the water never got hot. The only towels available are very small and very thin. They are not large enough to wrap around your body. The jacuzzi area shows deferred maintenance with broken tile, missing robe hooks and mold/mildew on the ceiling between the jacuzzi and the showers (ick). This is a nice facility, but the policies are confusing and it's sadly lacking in general upkeep. (See pics)
