If I could give this place a negative review on just customer service I would. I was given a gift certificate for a 60 min massage (no dollar value noted) that doesn't expire until 1/2024. I called to make an appointment with Hank. He was nice but when I asked to confirm if I just show up 30 minutes prior to my appointment to use the amenities he said "yes, but you need to tell me ahead of time because visitors don't really use them". I thought it was odd that he mentioned that since this is supposed to be a "spa" facility. Then Donna called back and said I'd have to pay a difference because the cost of the massage changed. I argued stating that the certificate didn't state a dollar amount but a service and there is no disclaimer of a "not to exceed amount" or "subject to change". The purpose of buying gift certificates for services ahead of time is to lock in the price at the time, otherwise why advertise to sell services at a promotional price. I have been coming to this spa for about a year and a half now, and have been very satisfied with all the facial services. I am 60 and don' get Botox or any cosmetic procedures. this spa offers many different facials to choose from. I have tried several, and have been happy with all the results. They are knowledgeable and skilled at using the wands. They also do extra services as a promotion, so I can experience benefits of services they think will improve my results. Some spas seem to be a bit too careful, not aggressive enough, and the results were not as good. I plan to try more of their state of the art techniques on my future visits. read more

I just had the best spa experience! My friends gave me a gift certificate for the Pure Indulgence treatment which was a lifting and toning facial with an hour long massage. I went early to enjoy the jacuzzi and sauna and I had it all to myself on a Tues morning. The massage was wonderful and the massage therapist found all of the knots in my back and shoulders. I wasn't left too sore the next day, just relaxed. The facial was amazing and more detailed than any I've had before. It included a hand treatment and then a hot stone massage on my arms and shoulders after I had just had a fantastic body massage! I felt so pampered and well taken care of. The facility was very nice and the music during the treatments was so relaxing. Just perfect. All the employees were so professional and communicated what would happen next so I knew what to expect. After starting my journey to getting my groove back, my Pilates coach suggested I need a solid massage, especially my upper back. As often as we are in the area, I yelped a random spot that is actually open and I advantage of the V-Day special on the website - 30 min facial and 30 min massage special for $99.99. Sylvia was up first.... hands down best massage I've had in a long time. She even suggested a few breathing and stretching exercises for when I am at my desk and after a long day with the kiddies. Ruby finished up with a thorough facial, zero frills but definitely well worth all 1,800 seconds. Knocked out the minor blemishes and dryness and I was out the door. After reading Donna's response, it's clear she is not taking responsibility for the actions of her staff. She failed to mention that her front desk did not inform her of my call, which resulted in her not getting back to me until about A MONTH later. During this call she even asked me to remove my review, even though she agreed that it was their mistake. Using the excuse that the receptionist is new, but that's unacceptable to keep a costumer going through hoops who is trying to clear the situation, which is what tried to do before I went to Yelp. It may be procedure to suggest a tip, but my friends said they were pressured even though they said the gift certificate covered it all. She also failed to address that they were given a totally different service than what was listed on the certificate. I have the receipts of what I paid for and THE TIP that I included, which means my friends should not have been pressured tip. I thought about removing my review, but after reading the inappropriate response that clearly shows me the miscommunication between Donna and her staff, it is unsettling that she doesn't take more responsibility. I will not go back and do not recommend simply due to mistrust and lack of responsibility. read more

I purchased a gift card (in person) from Spa Xanadu a few years ago for my wife, when they were calling themselves "Wellness 360" or something like that. When i went in i confirmed that it was spa xanadu and the front desk worker said it was. I spent $150 on a gift card and was assured that it was valid for both "spa xanadu" and "wellness 360" and that there was no expiration date. Then covid happened and my wife had a baby so we didn't use it for a few years. When i then called to set up an appointment, i was told "it was a promotional card for wellness 360 and we can't accept it at Spa Xanadu" or some BS answer like that, even though i was asssured it was valid for both and that it wouldn't expire. I was given no options or any kind of refund and when i requested an email regarding my purchase, i got a receipt showing the manager had overridden my $150 purchase and it was now worth $0. In short, they stole $150 of my money. Do yourself a favor and find a different spa. read more

Not a huge fan of getting massages ( yeah, I prefer cupcakes over massages) but I figured it's about time I treated my bf to a nice massage rather than giving him a massage myself. This yelper does NOT do deep tissue massage so I'd rather pay someone $80+ to do that for me=) We were placed in two separate rooms where I received my massage by a male masseuse and he got a female masseuse. It should've been the other way around because my bf barely felt ANYTHING from the female masseuse. My massage was very soft and relaxing and didn't feel uncomfortable considering how he had very VERY soft silky hands. My hands feel like sand paper compared to his hands. I received a full body massage from head to toe which came to an end about a hour later. The part I did not like was how my bf did not feel any bit different from before and after the massage. Being a big guy that he is, they should've placed a much stronger masseuse with him. Compared to other Spa's, we both felt that the masseuse working here aren't that experienced or have the right skills and techniques. For about $100 each person, we expected a lot better. I could've saved that $100 and gave him a similar experience myself!! When it came time for us to pay, I felt like we were at a busy Chinese restaurant where they just want you to pay and get out! Hmmmm, I guess I'll just pay and run and never come back? Overall, if you're only looking for a massage just to relax and kill an hour, this place is perfect. I'm a fan solely because the price was good for the massage (it was a special of $50 for a 60 min massage as they extended spa week through the whole month of May). However, I felt a bit uncomfortable. Having recently just been to Willow Spa in Santa Monica, I was looking for another massage (cheaper), since my back has been hurting for awhile. I really like this place because they do monthly promos all the time, and also have spa packages. Though not super upscale like Burke Williams or the ones in Vegas, it's spa-like enough, meaning it doesn't just look like an office with private rooms. Arrived about 2 minutes before my appointment time and was immediately led to my room, which looked like any other massage places I've been to. I asked my therapist if she liked her job so far since she just started in December and she replies, "eh.....". LOL at least lie about it!!!!!!!!! That just made me kind of uncomfortable my whole hour knowing she was ambivalent about her job, and made me feel bad that I was getting a massage from her. However, the massage WAS good and the tension on my back was eased up. I would probably go back because it's so cheap for a massage. I'm thinking about buying the spa package (starting at $180 for a series of 3 massages) so I can use their amenities. Also I like that it's close to my house. This was the first time I'd ever gotten a body massage and I was looking for a place to take my mother for her birthday. This spa is less than 10 minutes away from my house so I thought I'd try it out. When we walked in, Anna, the receptionist, was incredibly welcoming, she was always smiling and always so friendly. She had no problem helping me out whenever I'd ask questions. Don't be fooled of how small this spa looks on the outside, because I believe there's three floors with more than a dozen rooms! We started off with the jacuzzi and sauna room that was EXTREMELY clean, while we waited for our masseuses. I chose to do the facial & massage package for my mother and I in the couple's room. My mom had Silvia and I had Natalie for our massages. IT WAS AMAZING. I'm usually terrified of massages because I feel like I'm too weak for them and that I'd be in pain and sore for weeks, but NOPE, this was the best massage I've ever gotten! (Yes actually at some parts I wanted to scream but I felt incredible afterwards lol) Right after we finished with our massages, we were asked to wait in this cute waiting room for our facials. They even had complimentary tea and snacks while we waited! Ruby called my mom in and another worker named Ana called me in. She was so honest about everything, I loved how sweet, CLEAN, and gentle she was. After our sessions, my mom and I ran to the sauna room/ jacuzzi and stayed for another 30 minutes. I am in LOVE with this place! I've been to so many facial places and none of them can ever compare to this. You can say I am germaphobic, so when I say this place is CLEAN, it's EXTREMELY CLEAN. I tweaked my back somehow and it was bothering me. A friend recommended this place so I came here a few weeks ago. Turns out this place is legit and it actually helped me. I'd come back for sure but for a 90 minute massage next time rather than the hour. WHAT HAPPENED: I got the Xanadu massage. The massage was excellent! This is some kind of combination massage and I'd say that it helped. What was even better was that spa access was complementary. This is my second time here and it was an amazing experience once again! For 1hr Xanadu massage -came in on a wed 2pm, and barely anyone there! The best is to come 30-45 min early so you can use their spa amenities such as the heated pool, sauna, and steam room. - everything is super super clean. I love the feeling going into the spa. It's definitely a must beforehand. Sadly their sauna was broken this 2nd time I went. - got the Xanadu with aroma with Lisa. She was amazing! It is way too difficult to find a Spa day experience that allows you to stay together as a couple. This place won us over because 1) they could fit us in the weekend of our anniversary and 2) they had a couple's facility. We had the space to ourselves upstairs - it included: Private bath/shower, Steam room, Sauna, Changing room/lockers, Waiting room and we got a couples massage which was in a connected room upstairs as well! It was so nice and private (though I don't now if they book more than one couple or if it is always private like this.... I'd hope not!). Things that made us remove some stars... The bathroom/shower had zero ventilation, the only skin/haircare items provided were body wash/shampoo/conditioner (seemed generic) and hand wash, hand lotion a hair dryer and a brush (which had blonde hairs that looked rather permanent... not a fan). It would have been nice to have some more quality options and my husband asked about hair gel or spray and they did not have any options in the men's facility either (said they were out?). There was music downstairs but we couldn't hear any upstairs and it was just a normal building smell - A diffuser with lavender goes a VERY long way in setting the atmosphere (both in the facility and the massage room). Things that we loved... The privacy of the facilities was great! The steam room was probably our fave and while they do not have a whirlpool they do have a shower inside the steam room which was amazing! The small facilities were comfortable and clean. Our massages were good - I appreciated that Lynn asked me what to work on and she didn't hold back. She got everything done in our hour. Just a side note - everyone is different, I don't get a massage wanting to fall asleep on the bed lol, I want everything worked out! I was sore the next day and amazing by the following day! If you want a gentle/relax massage, say so or go somewhere else. The hot stones were 500% the best decision ever! I desperately needed a massage and was told by a friend to try Spa Xanadu, And to ask for Sylvia or Evelyn. I was able to get an appointment right when they opened and Sylvia was masseuse. I had asked her to focus on my scapular/shoulder area. She was very attentive to my requests. Extremely friendly and even chatted with me after the session and gave me some advice to try things at home to minimize my tension. I've been to other massage places, some in Pasadena, one in Manhattan Beach (massage revolution). And neither of those could compare to the treatment I received at Spa Xanadu. The cleanliness of the facility was superb. I get extremely relaxed during my session. I will definitely be going back. And I might try the deep tissue massage next time. I received the Xanadu massage and what I liked about it was the pressure point technique that focused on my tight areas. Highly recommended. read more

I found out about this place from Spaweek.org and got the acupressure facial. Spa Xanadu is doing a special with Spaweek were you get a 50 minute facial for $50. I've gone to other Spaweek spas before, but this was the first one where they charged 15% gratuity (based on the full price facial of $100) automatically onto your bill. The other spas just let you write in the amount. Also, this place charges your credit card immediately. My biggest complaint about this place was the length of time they used the steam machine. She only had the steam machine on for about 2 minutes before she started doing her extractions. Pores do not have enough time to open in 2 minutes; thus, it makes the extractions more painful. My second complaint about this place was the inconsistently in service. I went with two other girlfriends and each of our experience was a bit different. The other 2 got full arm/hand massages while I only got the shoulder and neck. Street parking. read more

It's definitely smaller and more intimate and the hot tub was busted, but I enjoyed everything from their yummy flavored water to their relaxation room. I was in town for a visit and noticed that my eyebrows were getting...well, quite horrible. I stopped in here on a whim, as I'm still not really -that- comfortable walking into a place for an eyebrow waxing. But, like I said, it had to be done. I was told that there would be a twenty minute wait or so, so after going back to my car to get a book, I returned to find that they were able to take me right away. My requirements were pretty simple: Cleaned up and nice, without making me look startled all the time. It took about half an hour, with the waxing and the tweezer plucking, but it was very relaxing. There's light, asian-style music playing and the woman just did what needed to be done. I don't know if it's just me, or if that's how it's done, or what...but I don't want to have conversation while this is happening. The whole experience is an odd sensation, what with the ripping and the plucking and all that, and I guess I like to pull a zen-like thing of focusing on what I'm feeling at the time. I felt very good when it was done and with all the attention she paid me, in terms of plucking carefully, I expected a much larger bill than the $20 I paid. In my hometown of Salem, OR, I usually pay $10 to get it done. But it's never been done as meticulously as at Spa Xanadu and I was okay with it. I walked out feeling rejuvenated. Pretty pricey, but very nice facility, clean environment, very friendly and professional staff. Got the couples "Just The Two of Us" package which was a good 2.5+hrs. Starts off with your own personal spa use with sauna, then an hour massage together, individual facials for another hour, then use of the spa again until you feel fresh and new. The hot stone massage was great, although I could have done without the cold stone hahah. Overall, highly recommended! PS, the receptionist lady is extremely hot!
