    Polish Redo

Although the salon is aesthetically pleasing, the service is absolutely awful! I got a regular manicure and pedicure. I had to tell the nail tech (EM-station 5) to buff the entire toe nail as one quick swipe was not adequate to achieve a smooth look after applying polish. After the pedicure, I got a manicure which was the worst part of the service. EM did an absolutely horrible job; so much so, that I returned the next day for a polish redo. It's really difficult to see how well a regular manicure is until your nails are dry. Unfortunately, the polish redo was bad as well; it wasn't as bad as the initial manicure polish, but definitely unprofessional. I don't understand why a service provider would do such poor work knowing that their customers are walking advertisements. I do not recommend this business, especially not EM. See the pictures below.

Note: I have my cosmetology license(so I know what to look for). Also, I am very picky. I have now been here twice and both visits were amazing! Covid plexiglass partitions, fresh nail tools, eucalyptus steamed towels, lovely music, quality work... I love it all! 10/10

I don't usually mind paying $60 for a mani pedi but it was a bit frustrating when they have a sign outside that said $35 mani pedi special but jumps to a $60 bill just for the addition of gel instead of just paint. I used to love this place for their great prices and fast service but after being there for like 2 hours and the $70 bill with tip included, I think I will have to find a new place.

I came here as a walk in. Kelly and Sam did my nails. Appearently, they have an all new staff. They are very friendly and professional; did a great job! The shop is clean and nicely decorated. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area. I got a gel manicure and pedicure.

I just showed Kevin what I wanted...very happy...:)

Spa 1 has become my go-to for manicures and pedicures. Prices are reasonable, Stacy cracks me up, and I always leave happy.

My favorite place in Annapolis. Always friendly, good prices, and therefore usually very busy. Always have a good experience here.

My mom and sister were coming to Helen, so I made an appointment one day to make it a girls day and fell in love.

I then asked for bubble bath but was told that color was not good for my skin and it is better for fair skinned individual. I am a black woman for context. I then picked a different color and she proceeded to pick a color outside of the color i picked on my toes. She asked if i liked them and i told her no not really. Then she continues with try something new. My whole service was rushed and she was very aggressive the entire time. I proceeded to pay and once i got to the car i looked at my toes and they were lumpy, lifting, and had a ding. I worked up the courage to go back in and show her hoping they would be fixed. She was very defensive telling me she has done toes for 10 years and no one has ever said anything. I attempted to show her where my whole toe nail was lifting and she attempted to file it which was not the issue. She finally throws the nail file down angrily walks away from me and says if it lifts come back. I feel i was disrespected, discriminated against, and left in tears. In no way shape or form did she ever try to change something so that I was satisfied with the quality of my nail she was extremely dismissive and disrespectful. I would never recommend this place especially not to people of color as I shouldve gotten up and left when she told me the color I wanted was only good for fair skin people in 2026. I'm truly disgusted with this establishment.

I also appreciate that they've stopped charging extra for certain nail polishes. The foot exfoliator they use is fantastic. I've noticed some inconsistencies with the Uptown Pedicure service. My first visit was great -- exactly as described, with a scrub up to the knee, paraffin wax, and a lovely extended massage. That's what convinced me to make the drive from Baltimore to Annapolis for a repeat visit. But on my next few visits, those steps were skipped entirely. I even reached out to the contact listed online, but never received a response. I decided to give it another try this past week, hoping my previous experience was a one-off mistake. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The same abbreviated service again. I also got a gel manicure this time. The nail tech was super sweet and friendly. The dry cuticle care left my cuticles shredded. The description of the gel manicure mentions a lotion massage, but what I received was just a few drops of cuticle oil after curing the polish -- definitely not the same thing. I totally understand if this location has adjusteld their service menu from the national model, but if that's the case, it would be great to have that clearly communicated on the services description for Annapolis

I first came in on 2/15 to get an Annapolis pedicure with gel polish. At first I was very happy used a 10% off first visit from Annapolis moms mention and despite the receptionist making a mistake and charging me someone else balance then changing me a second time to make the difference, that was not a big deal to me. Came in 6 days later to get a basic manicure with gel before my vacation to Hawaii which was 5 days later. Less than a week later (a day after I got to Hawaii and not even touched the beach yet) my toe nail polish had flaked off and my nail polish was catching on my hair. I messaged the salon via DM instagram and they said I could come in no problem when I came back from vacation. Here's when it all went downhill: I meant to say I could come in March 15 (get back the 6th but weekends only work for me getting my one year old watched) however I put the 8th, this was not scheduled as I never received a text confirming the date which would've helped the confusion. The 15th comes and I go in thinking I'm getting my nails fixed, nope! They are too busy and I have to come another day so I say I guess I could come back 3/15 (exactly one month from my first visit). When I arrived I wanted to clarify before getting the service that they were fixing this and I would not be charged for it yet I'd still tip. I got attitude saying at this point my nails would need to be redone but this one time (said multiple times) they will do it. I have never been so disrespected in a business before in my entire life. My heart was pounding and my leg shaking the entire time, honestly I wanted to walk out of here after she started. The tech wasn't going to cut my long nails and when I asked her too she shook her head and said "well of course they are long it's been over 5 weeks". Despite the disrespect I still tipped her $8 for 30 minutes of work of doing my nails and toenails, crazy. My nails are still slightly bumpy along the tips and chipped on the thumb nail chipped only 12 days later. For the price I'd expect more, better massage, definitely better service/experience, and for the gel polish to last longer. Never had gel last so little of time. Very disappointing!
