My car died in the middle of a busy intersection, and Costa Mesa PD promptly came out and arranged for Southside Towing. The officer informed me that Southside would tow my car to a nearby yard free of charge, but they forgot to give Edgar, the tow driver, the necessary paperwork. Edgar kindly suggested towing my car to a parking lot instead so I could call a family member with AAA. He was incredibly patient, understanding, and compassionate throughout the whole situation. I'm beyond furious with this so-called "business." On the Fourth of July, when the streets were packed, chaotic, and there was literally nowhere to park. They decided to tow my vehicle from in front of my own home. Yes, I'll admit I parked somewhere I technically wasn't supposed to, but let's be real -- it was a holiday, the roads were jammed, and it's not like I abandoned my car in a an a place that blocked traffic or prevented any movement. I live there. They towed it a mile away. One mile. And for that, they charged me $600. SIX. HUNDRED. FUCKING. DOLLARS. For a tow that barely went around the block. That's not just overpriced, that's extortion. From what I've gathered, this company mostly operates for the city. But instead of actually serving the community, they exploit technicalities, use public holidays to prey on people, and hide behind their contracts while bleeding residents dry. Their practices are shameless. They are not just inconsiderate -- they are predatory. This isn't a business. It's a trap. They don't care about your home, your situation, your holiday plans. They care about one thing: profit. What they did wasn't just unfair it was heinous, greedy, and frankly evil. I hope others see this and think twice before accepting this companies awful practices, supporting them and tolerating companies like this. I have a Tesla so it has cameras they had my car at the lot already and didn't want to release it when I called them. The guy who towed my car tried to open my car twice!!!! I had to lock it through my Tesla app. They are so sketchy and weird.. horrible place terrible people and when I called they were so rude!!!! I called the police because they wouldn't release my car to me even though it was there and it wasn't busy! So my car got towed last night because I illegally parked it. Definitely my bad and I called them to make sure my car was there before heading over. They were really nice on the phone and let me know I just needed my driver's license, my car registration paper, and either credit card (no American Express) or cash. They don't have an ATM onsite so definitely get your cash beforehand if you don't wanna pay by card. Showed up at lunch and the young man named Sam was able to help me right away. No fuss or hassle. I was in and out with my car in like 15 minutes. They do have a soda machine but not much else. The $392 fine definitely hurt the wallet but it's definitely an expensive lesson to learn. They have 8am auctions every Friday for cars and motorcycles. Pretty interesting and apparently a lot of people buy those vehicles, fix them up and resell for good money. Sam told us some cool stories. Overall, very unlike the negative reviews on here. Hope I don't see them again but at least they're pleasant to deal with! read more

They could clearly see by my provided documentation I was a resident of the complex and I was accepting accountability. David reduced the exit fee for me and I was on my way to work. This place is absurd. Obviously in some kind of deal with Via Lido Plaza where they tow people and make insane amounts of money. Car was towed on a Sunday and cost me $590. A $165 gate fee was there because they're "closed" yet full staff is in there working. They're taking so much money from people I don't understand how these people feel ethical at all. Pulling a car from a public lot I WAS SHOPPING IN towing me in less than an hour and charging me that much. Some people probably can't even afford this or use their rent money because of this greed.
