This place exceeded my expectations in every single way. First of all, I'm honestly not really a BBQ gal but Southside BBQ can definitely change that. I've been seeing this all over IG and figured I would try it. I did a to go order. You can easily call and order to go. The young lady who answered definitely knew her stuff. I told her I didn't know whether to get the hot links or the wagyu brisket. She recommended the latter, she even mentioned that they bbq their meats for hours! I ended up ordering the 1 protein +. 1 side. Wagyu brisket and roasted garlic mash with gravy. It came with 2 rolls, house pink pickles and jerk slaw. Omg!! The brisket was full of flavor and not dry at all. I love how they kept in some of the Fats of the brisket. The roasted garlic mash was yummy. Nothing over salty at all!! You already know I'll be coming here again and try more of their menu. But next time I'll eat there.

Great environment. Delicious food. Great customer service. Place has sports on TVs, soon they will serve beer but not yet. Recommend this BBQ spot.

Tried a new BBQ spot today and it definitely delivered. The baby back ribs were the highlight for me -- packed with flavor and smoked to perfection. Easily my favorite thing on the menu. I also had the brisket burger, which was great. The beef patty was already tasty, and the brisket on top just took it to another level. They offer a good variety of sides too. I went with the mac & cheese and smashed potatoes with gravy, and both were solid comfort-food choices. One thing I thought was really unique was their BBQ potstickers -- a cool twist that actually worked and tasted great. Overall, everything I tried was really good. If I had to pick a least favorite, it would probably be the pork belly, but even that wasn't bad compared to the rest of the meal. Tacos were decent but I will focus more on their BBQ Definitely worth checking out if you're a BBQ fan. their services was great and very friendly and helpful. Great for family and friends.

This might've topped some of my favorite BBQ spots in the 626 area. The Asian influence in the herb marinated veggies and the pork belly are done so well. The meat is cooked phenomenally and the sliders, tacos, and potstickers are so unique. The only dish I wasn't blown away by was the mac and cheese. The ribs are cooked really well but the mac and cheese itself could've done with a little bit more salt. I like savory food so others will probably not mind. Overall it is really good and I am excited that it just opened. Service is great as well so it makes me want to come back more just because how nice they were.

3/8/2026 Came with a large group all our first time here. I had the 3 item combo with 2 sides. Waygu brisket, pork belly and grilled chicken breast. My sides were Cowboy Beans and veggies. If you're carving for a heavy Texas style BBQ this isn't the place for you. The protein has a lighter flavor I especially liked the Brisket. The chicken and the pork belly needed to be drenched in BBQ sauce it just lacked flavor and seasoning. I wouldn't get the veggies again lacked seasoning, the Cowboy Beans was pretty tasty. Service was excellent the staff came around asking if we needed drink refills or anything else.

This is a fairly new spot in an area that doesn't have many restaurant options, especially good ones, so I really want it to succeed. It definitely has potential, but it feels like it's still working through some operational kinks. A couple of menu items weren't available (or at least not that day), which made ordering a bit frustrating. It would be helpful if they clearly listed which items are available on certain days to avoid having to rethink your order. (Yes, I pick what I want before due to lunch time crunch) The place itself was clean, which is always a plus. Service was okay, but there's room for improvement. With a little more consistency and tighter management, this could easily become a go to spot.

I had a lovely experience at Southside BBQ Co (Montebello). I ordered the Wagyu Brisket Burger ($21 - Medium Rare). It's EXTREMELY delicious! I wanted to scream in joy as I bit into its hefty, juicy meat. I felt humbled. With shaky, eager hands I ravished that perfect burger. I felt happy. (Important: Bring cash. There's a 4% additional charge for card.) I arrived at Southside BBQ Co (Montebello) on Friday (around 1:02PM). Parking is easy; the lot had many empty spaces when I'd arrived. Staff (identified as Jack) is professional, diligent, and helpful. Jack provided useful recommendations from the cheese to the BBQ sauce. Jack also maintained a welcoming, kind demeanor during my entire experience. The food arrived in 19 minutes 35 seconds. Personally, this lengthy cook time for one burger is a little worrisome since there were almost no customers during my visit. Still, it was worth the wait. As mentioned, I ordered the Wagyu Brisket Burger ($21 - Medium Rare). It's Wagyu Brisket AND a 1/4 Wagyu Patty; it included big, fluffy brioche buns, cheddar cheese, and caramelized onions. The flavor of fresh, clean beef radiated lovingly. The brisket had a light smoky flavor, and it seductively fell apart in my mouth. The 1/4 wagyu patty reminded me of a juicy meatloaf. It's BIG. Each bite felt euphoric! Regarding ambiance, Southside BBQ Co (Montebello) is gorgeous! The ugly, forgettable exterior hides an almost magical & enchanting interior with vibrant artwork and charming decor. I felt humbled at the effort this new, hidden business held... If it wasn't from a random visit on Yelp, I'd have never discovered it. Southside BBQ Co (Montebello) has about nine huge, sparkly tables. Everything looked shiny & new. The location is well-ventilated, almost chilly. The restroom is in the back corner. There's also loud, fun upbeat music. I also noticed several flat screen televisions, but they were off during my visit. Overall, I found unexpected happiness at Southside BBQ Co (Montebello). It's one of the best hamburgers that I've ever tasted; the satisfaction is comparable to the Gordon Ramsay Burger in Las Vegas while also being cheaper!! If you love burgers, this is a must try!! 5 out of 5. "GO, GO, GO, before it becomes too popular!"

Southern BBQ done right here in Montebello--huge shout-out to the chef, this place really is the best and definitely worth a visit. Come on Down!!! 100%

South Side BBQ Co (@southsidebbqcola) · Montebello, CA -- At #Southside BBQ Company barbecue is not just food, it is tradition, community, and soul. Nestled in the heart of #Montebello #California, they are serving up authentic, slow smoked BBQ with bold flavors and Southern roots, made fresh daily with passion and pride. They started Southside BBQ Company with a simple goal: to bring people together over good #BBQ. Whether you are here for their tender #brisket, fall off the bone ribs, or lobster sandwich, every plate is made by their chefs with more than 30 years of experience. My favorites are the beans, smashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, blue corn taco with pork belly, ribs, Wagyu burger $11, slide $6, lobster sandwich and bbq plate with 3 meats and 3 sides for $36.

My buddies who I haven't seen in a long time welcomed my family and myself to their cuisine tasting prior to the opening. Slow-smoked barbecue methods are combined with sophisticated comfort food and contemporary ingredients at Southside BBQ Co., a Montebello BBQ-fusion restaurant. This restaurant emphasizes originality, high-quality food, and substantial serving sizes. The Wagyu beef burgers are ordered for us by my buddies. Wagyu burgers are covered with homemade sauces and are thick, juicy, and decadent. Delicious burgers! Slow-smoked meats are made fresh, cooked slowly, and loaded with fries to guarantee their suppleness and rich taste. The menu of Southside BBQ offers a variety of options, including salad, wings, burgers, bento boxes, sliders, Mac and Cheese, and more. Wagyu meats are used in all of their burgers. Every dish that my buddies ordered for us is incredibly tasty and excellent! Expect consistently high-quality flavors whether you're dining in, ordering takeout, or catering an event. The restaurant anticipates opening in one to two weeks. Make sure to visit this restaurant and savor the delicious BBQ cuisine!

Okay I can't believe I forgot to review this place immediately after visiting. The food was sooo good! The lobster bacon Mac was unbelievable, you gotta try it! The tacos were full of flavor, we might even just stop in occasionally just for the tacos! The ribs and brisket were cooked to perfection! The service was great and our server offered a few suggestions on the menu that did not disappoint! The restaurant is family friendly, clean and the decor is fun!

Came on 2/14. I believe this is a fairly new establishment. We ordered the 3 Proteins and 3 Sides for the bbq plate. We chose Wagyu brisket, pulled pork and hot links. And for our sides, Garlic mash, Mac and cheese, and French fries. It also came with 2 dinner rolls, a side of coleslaw and pink pickles. The Wagyu brisket didn't have the WOW factor for me. And it needed more barbecue sauce as it was kind of dry. I really enjoyed the pulled pork and the hot links. Service was good. We kept getting checked on (which is a good thing) and asked if we needed anything else, or how the food was tasting.

We drove down and ordered the '58 Classic and another tuna sub, both as combos. The sides absolutely stole the show. The purple cabbage was so good, the coleslaw wasn't my personal favorite but my husband loved it, the four bean salad was absolutely mouthwatering, and the marinated mushrooms were also delicious. I'm genuinely so glad we have leftovers for tomorrow because I'll definitely be thinking about that bean salad again. We'll absolutely be back!

.., meet Whittier's Uptown hero!…read more My experience here was from 6/26/26 & it did not disappoint. Though I've been to Uptown Provisions twice before to support my friend Andrew M, as well as my other friend Andrew P. with Satori Coffee Project, this was my actual visit where I finally ate! Third times the charm! Tucked nicely into a Penn St. neighborhood, Uptown Provisions can easily be spotted by the loyal patrons waiting/dining outside. May the street parking gods be kind to you as they always provide me with a spot nearby. Knowing what I already wanted from doing my menu homework the night prior, I was practically drooling on my way in. Greeted by a great staff & friendly fellow patrons, I felt right at home. I went with the "Tom's Way" sandwich. Dedicated to one of their favorite customers, it's a crossover between an egg sandwich & a pastrami. It was perfect! Chef Aaron describes his sandos as the perfect West Coast sandwich, & that I can totally agree with. Tom's Way provided me with a robust sandwich blend that never knew I needed until now. Each component's flavor profile blended together nicely. I'm usually hit or miss with rye bread, but this rye hit the mark & held the ship together. The eggs were made with care & prepared in a way I've never tasted before, very delicious. Pastrami was tender, pickled onions provided the bitter tangy component while the broccoli slaw became the soothing blanket that nestled every flavor together. I absolutely loved my sandwich. They post a 20 minute wait time but I got mine in 15. Great things come to those who wait. They do not have a public bathroom so plan your visit accordingly. They have a few counter seats inside with plenty more outdoor seating in front with friendly locals chatting it up. Don't be shy with the napkins. Thank you Uptown Provisions for a great experience, I shall return!

Buy at night, I'm not so sure I'd take my mother-in-law there. We ordered 1 Chicken Sandwich 2 Chili dogs with cheese 1 Chili fry 1 Soda for a total of $38.51 (cash) My first mistake; not taking a photo of the current 'Menu' board; it is different from what's shown here; it has been updated. However, there is a 'Grilled Chicken Sandwich' on the menu board that is not offered... instead, they offer a tiny fried; breaded, processed chicken disk patty, sandwich - honestly, not worth buying... stick to the chili burgers or chili dogs. My honest opinion on this is, they should simply remove the chicken sandwich altogether - it is of no real value to the customer. The Chili, however, is this places Strong Point -- thick to that, and they'd do well. Chili dogs are good; a decent, long, slightly snappy dog on a regular small bun, but lightly smothered with a decent portion of chili; not too messy and easy to eat. The Chili Fries were also good; not great but good. The portion if generous but the fries quickly turned soft before I could plow into them. I do like some crispy fries with my Chili. But the flavor was good. I can't make a recommendation on this until I try another batch of chili fries. If, however, the fries remain soaked and soft, then I'd probably pass them up but just buy straight fries instead -- I hate soft soggy fries. As for the soda; a large is an OK size. I cannot say if they offer a refill; I did not go back to ask for one. But I'd hope a refill is available for the price. Pastrami: I got to taste a sample of the Pastrami, and it is really good. Here is where Chroni's could kick it up a notch; Chroni's does not have Bacon - Huge Disappointment and Missed Opportunity. With the Pastrami, and with Bacon, they could add one more menu Item that I know for a fact would sell: The Monster Burger - it is simply this: Bacon Cheeseburger with Pastrami, Chili, Onions & Pickles, and mustard. If they'd add this to their menu, I'd be back for sure. Just saying; something for Chroni's to think about. Get rid of the chicken, add the bacon. Seating: Oh, yeah; seating; Lots of outdoor seating... we were there on a Sunday and there were plenty of open tables. Parking: Lots of Parking too... for most parts or time, parking should not be an issue as I had thought. I nearly parked 3 blocks away when I saw the parking on the street; not knowing Chroni's had its own parking. But then discovered, they had plenty. I cannot say anything about restrooms; I didn't need to go nor looked to see if they had restrooms. My take-away for Chroni's is this; it is a throw-back to a early time when Snack Shack foods was a regular thing in L.A.; a nostalgic place with Lots of Promise and Potential. Pricing is a sign of the times; a bit high for me but it is what it is, but the staff are friendly & nice. My hope for Chroni's would be to focus on promotions & higher sales volume with an emphasis toward lowering prices as demand begins to grow once again. By minimizing the menus and just focusing on turning Chroni's back into High Quality Chili & Chili Burger Shack will definitely help increase sales once prices come down a bit. And if done right, there will still be lots of opportunity to turn a nice protfit. 5 Stars for Friendly & Nice Service 2 Stars on the Chicken & Soft/Soggy Fries 4 Stars for Seating 4 Stars for Parking 3 Stars for Cleanliness/Outdoor Dining/Restrooms (???) and bus bench/streetside characters. And, 5 Stars for Potential Overall - 3.5 Stars for now.

Prices are much higher now than before; more than doubled so this would be considered a special treat for me if I am in the area.

Pillowy soft and toasted bread with thick cuts of lengua, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and mustard nestled inside. The flavors are phenomenal! It also comes with a side and I always choose the Ham and Cheese Macaroni! I'm not kidding when I say I can eat the Ham and Cheese macaroni every single day and sometimes I order just a large bowl of it! I love that you can also upgrade the size of the sides to a bigger bowl. The sandwiches can be pricey, but honestly so worth it because of how big the portions are. Customer service is always top tier! The staff are always so kind and will answer any questions you have. Huge perk that you can also call in ahead of time to place your order and they offer curbside pick up. If you want to dine in, simply order at the cashier and they'll call you when your food is ready. Lots of seating inside and very clean. Free parking lot available too. Cook's Tortas will always have my heart and I will continue to recommend it to everyone I know!

I've tried their signature The Melrose, which consists of black forest ham, oven roasted turkey, bacon, melted White American cheese, topped with house slaw (lettuce, red onions, pepperoncini tossed in their "Melrose" spread) and tomato. I absolutely love this sandwich!! It's packed with so much flavor, and the bun absorbs all of the juicy goodness, making every bite incredibly satisfying. Runner-up for me is the Uncle Nikki. This one has Genoa salami, pepperoni, capicola, provolone cheese, also topped with their house slaw. I've only ordered from here through Postmates, and every time their packaging is excellent--they wrap each sandwich in this cute wrapper, which adds a fun touch and keeps everything neatly intact and fresh by the time it arrives. Each sandwich is around $12 (as of June 2026), and I honestly think it's worth the price because these sandwiches are huge and so good!!

Probably wouldn't get it again though as it did not have enough buffalo flavor for me. Wouldn't mind coming back to try another different one though. Service was friendly. Restaurant itself and Bathrooms were nice and clean.
