Rick and Erica texted us before we arrived to ask if we wanted an array of coffee from the coffee bar on board and we were greeted with our orders. We also had so many snacks and drinks available. One of the greatest things is that this isn't a preselected tour and you can go where you please during the allotted time. They even dropped us in town for dinner at the end of our time. I had no idea what to expect from Texas wine, but I was honestly pleasantly surprised. The day started at the Austin Visitor Center where we met with our tour guide and other guests. Then we hopped on our sprinter van and headed about 40 min outside of town to start our tour at Driftwood Winery. I really enjoyed the wines and we ended up purchasing a bottle to enjoy along the tour. Next, we went to Fall Creek Vineyards. This setting was beautiful, but I didn't love the wines as much. I did love that they had plenty of snacks so you could make your own charcuterie board. Snacks are a must when drinking wine all day. Last, we ended closer to the city in the St. Elmo District at Austin Winery. The tour is about $70 and then you pay for your wines at each stop. I had a fabulous time with our tour guide and tour mates. Would reccomend this if you're looking for a day excursion in Austin.

On our last visit it was a mix of whites, reds and a sweet wine at the end. The pours are generous and all their wines have tasted great. You can order some snacks like a charcuterie plate on the side. The space is beautiful and I've heard they have a venue on the estate for hosting parties or weddings. The wine was tasty but the tasting itself was only moderately enjoyable. The main reason was the tasting was 30-40 minutes long and we just had to stand at a counter. We couldn't order food at the counter either. We are used to tastings being at a table where we do the tasting, order bottles we enjoyed while noshing on food from the menu. Standing for 40 minutes at a counter was not expected or enjoyable. One of our family members has a disability and is unable to stand that long so he and my husband sat outside while the ladies did the wine tasting inside at the counter. It was really disappointing as the expectation was a nice afternoon at the winery with the group and it ended up being two separate groups and standing the whole time at a counter wasn't enjoyable. The wine was good. We brought two bottles home. The experience left a lot to be desired.

What I like about small vineyards is they have the freedom to experiment and create a variety of wines and blends using different varieties and winemaking styles. This innovation leads to fresh and evolving tasting experiences that keep wine interesting, exciting, and perhaps most importantly, personal. Small vineyards also focus on quality and sustainable farming, and produce smaller quantities of wine. This locally owned small vineyard has bold reds and crisp whites and breathtaking views at sunset. For my partner, I purchased a bottle of the 2019 Mourvèdre. This vino is smokey and bold with cholocatre undertones. This vino will pair well with steak and other red meats. While I am not a fan of reds, the quality and legs on this vino is undeniable. I purchased a glass of 2021 Barrel Aged Trebbiano which was reminiscent of a Cabernet Sauvignon blanc. Cabernet Blanc wines have a flavor profile that's similar to a mix of Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. They can be dry, but some are made to be slightly sweet. This Trebbiano was more dry that sweet which I adore. Aside from the vinos, the sunset views when sitting on the deck are stunning. My partner and I sat and watched the sun go down with glasses in hand. The vino coupled with the views made this outing magical. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it didn't take long to realize that not only is Dale a great tour guide, he's also a very personable and knowledgable man who makes you feel like an old friend. The day lasted longer than expected, but it was a wonderful day and ended up being just perfect. We are planning to use his rental venue for a retreat in the coming months and looking forward to it. First I would like to start with the facts. 1. We booked…read morethis tour months ago but unfortunately had to reschedule to a later date. (due to Covid19) This was not an issue for anyone attending the tour and the company got all $2800 paid for in full. 2. Yes $2800. We had 28 people in our group, It required two buses that were at their max capacity. 3. I would give a HUGE ZERO if I could. The buses arrived at the pick up location 25 minutes early and expected us (all 28) to load up. Not all 28 people were even there yet. The male driver already seemed annoyed at this point. We ended up pulling out at the agreed on time. When trying to leave the 2nd winery we couldn't. The drivers HAD LEFT and weren't there to pick us up. We waited outside in the sun outside for 30 minutes before they even got back. But that unfortunately is not why I am writing this review As we were loading the bus to go home the male driver said that would be charging us for a cleaning fee ($300) because someone spilt something on the floorboard. Pretty steep for a small spill that could be wiped up with a Clorox wipe but she agreed to pay it she sat down. Comments started to be exchanged about the steep fee and how the day had been complete chaos up until this point. The man began to get pretty heated and slammed the door. When he opened the door to his seat he said "who the f**k spilt something in my seat." Nobody had spilled something on his seat. Upon looking at the "spill" it appeared to be sweat from Him. He continued to cuss and yell and eventually told us to "get off his bus." We all piled off and the other bus also unloaded. Now it is important to note the other driver said we didn't do anything wrong and that she didn't agree with how he was handling things. He told her he was in charge and that he would make the call. She became quiet after that. They ultimately left us there to find our own rides. The male driver was rude and didn't speak unless spoken to the entire day. A beautiful day with amazing company was RUINED by this company and I will not recommend them to anyone!
