O---M---GOSH! if you havent tried this place, RUN, do not WALK!…read more my group of 6 all ordered different sammies, ALL WERE LOADED down with proteins! AKA MEAT! toppings were fresh around the board - and everyone raved about their sandwiches - all had different breads and they were talked about too. i got the french dip $15 and could only manage to put away 1/4 of it. meat was tender & well seasoned, good cheese ratio (i skipped onions & horseradish mayo) and au jus was very good. cant remember the last time a group order or various dishes received rave reviews across the board! side special of carrot fries was hot, fresh, well salted & surprisingly yummy. i dont like carrots - in any form - but i guess i have now found a form i like! side cheese curls was SO chewy-licious seasoned in garlic butter! and dont skip the desserts! several of us got the lemon bar $4 which was everything bright and good! i also got a NY style b&w cookie $5 that was a big as my hand. service was fast & friendly and amazingly perfectly accurate - important if you are taking food to go. which might be a good idea at peak times. seating at bar, and a few hightops with 2 hightops for 2 outside. also a picnic table outside. we all have other dishes we are anxious to go back and try. and in a town where a lot of places roll up their shops after lunch, its nice that turcotte's stays open til 9. meats by the pound available as well.

It was probably close to a lb of meat. The roast beef was fresh and I ate it all after a 5 mile hike. The venue is super cute and surprising to be in a strip mall. The family who owns and runs it is super nice. I would come back to try their other sandwiches because my friend said the Reuben was really good. I will update my review after I try another sandwich.

I placed the order by email a couple weeks in advance and was told that someone would contact me for payment. No one did, and I called twice before someone actually took payment over the phone. She totaled it wrong when I questioned the high amount, then recalculated and came up with the right price. I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip for the bakers, I said I would leave a cash tip when I picked up the pies. Apparently she didn't understand that, because when I came to pick up there was already a 25% tip added on, which I thought was rude. Every single pie (we ordered 4) had the driest crust and was hard to cut, even with a sharp kitchen knife. I ordered pies because I was on a tight time crunch with a lot of guests and thought it would save time. Hardly anyone took more than a couple bites and it was very embarrassing because I had hyped up the local bakery so much. They were pricey and not worth it at all. Every interaction with the bakery from the time of order to pick up was terrible. We are so burnt on this experience that we won't be coming back here during the rest of the year anymore. We trusted Thyme and Dough with a special holiday meal and it was ruined. It won't happen again.

Nut allergy friendly: I had no issues here with the tasting nor the restaurant…read more Note that Yelp has one listing for the entire place whereas Google Maps seems to separate them into the Bistro and the shop. They are attached, all one building. They are really responsive! I accidentally booked a reservation for 14 instead of 13, asked for a refund, and received it within a day. We arrived 10 minutes early for our appointed tasting time, and spent it wandering around the shop. We were led to the back tasting room on time and seated with a delicious tasting set of 6 olive oils and 4 balsamic vinegars, along with some bread as a palette cleanser. Our host was very informative and each olive oil and balsamic were noticeably different. The Sicilian was a great tasting Olive Oil x Italian Herb type of feeling, and most of the olive oils had the authentic black peppery aftertaste. I ended up going home with some of the Terra Verde to share with people, as well as the fig balsamic vinegar. We ended up eating at the bistro here, too (Order-to-entree: ~25 minutes-35 minutes for the entire table of 13). The flatbread was very sharable among two people. Everyone did comment on how the olive oil notes stood out in their dishes! The prices were extremely reasonable and they set aside a long table for our large group, great service all around. Overall, we had a great experience here and would definitely recommend the tasting for a unique nonalcoholic experience in the area.

Our first time making the drive out to Texas Hill Country Olive Co came on a Saturday afternoon!…read more It is definitely off the beaten path, and took us just about 45 mins to arrive from Austin. We can specifically for the 2pm curated olive Oil tasting, and we had somewhat of a mixed experience. The tasting started a bit late, and there wasn't much direction or acknowledgment of our crew waiting around unsure of where to go or what to do. Once we were finally invited into the tasting room, they were missing a couple of place settings, so we had to wait while more were prepared. The tasting itself was a very cool experience. We were guided through about 8 different oils and 4 balsamic. We talked about the production, processing, health benefits, and practical application of olive oil! The course instructor was nice, but some of the information she provided seemed suspect--perhaps more geared towards promoting THCOC oil than providing object facts (haha). The room was also freezing cold (a comment made by a few different parties). Ok I'm done complaining haha... the space itself is beautiful, and some of the oils we tasted were sublime. It really was amazing the difference in taste between different varieties and blends of olives. The infusions were very fun, business' story was fascinating. Beautiful, inspiring, and also tragic. Highly recommend visiting just to support the owner and his family. We will definitely buy their oil in the future!

We walked in, told the person at the front our name and were seated quickly. The restaurant is nice. It includes a little market in one section with various food items that you can purchase. There is also a seating area with couches near the market section. The restaurant has different sized tables for seating. Not long after being seated we were greeted by a waiter that did an excellent job taking care of us the entire time we were there. He took our drink order, gave us menus and some time to decide what we wanted. After a few minutes he brought us our waters and took our order. We ordered several items. El Olivo which is a garlic bread. It was okay. The bread was good. It was nice and warm and the garlic flavor was all on top. Whipped Feta which comes with grilled Naan and cucumber slices. The Naan was okay. It was a little cold and needed to be warmed up a little more for my liking but my kids ate it up. The cucumbers were fresh and crisp and the whipped feta was pretty good. It had a slight lemon flavor but not enough to where you could taste the lemon with every bite. Pork belly chicharron which had pork with avacado covered in a sauce. It came with tortilla chips. The tortilla chips were thick and crispy. Perfect for scooping up some of the pork belly. The pork belly was delicious. The sauce that covered it added flavor and the avacado was fresh. The Lamb chops came with Lamb, carrots and a puree. The lamb itself was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and was tender with each bite. The carrots were slightly sweet and the puree was soft. It was a good mix of different textures with each bite. The Truffle mac and cheese was a macaroni and cheese with chives and truffle flavor. This was very tasty. The macaroni was tender, the chives were spread out and added that slight onion flavor. The cheese was very flavorful. One of my kids ate almost all of this. Barbacoa Doughnuts which are mini doughnuts filled with barbacoa topped with a salsa. I don't really like barbacoa but I tried them and was pleasantly surprised. These were delicious. It was basically a soft and warm mini doughnut filled with flavorful barbacoa. The sauce on it added a slight spicy flavor. Patatas Bravas are potatoes with salsa and a garlic aioli sauce. These were very tasty. That salsa and aioli sauce are what gave this dish all of its yummy flavor. The potatoes had a crispy exterior with a soft interior. All of the ingredients mixed together made a very good side dish. One of my sons ordered the Dos Olivos Burger with Tater Tots. He said that the burger was okay. I tried it and I agreed. The tater tots were good. He ate those up with some ketchup. My other son ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwiches with everything on the side. He substituted a salad instead of the fries. He ate the salad up. He also ate the Fried chicken from the sandwich. He said it was good. He is not a fan of sesame seed bread so he opted not to eat the bun. I tried the red cabbage apple slaw that it comes with and it was okay. Lastly I ordered the Beet Salad which comes with beets, pears, and candied pecans. I don't usually eat beets but I wanted to try it. It was very good. The beet chunks were large and soft but not overly soft. The pears and the candied pecans added a crispier texture and the mixture of all of the ingredients along with the sauce that was on it made this a super sweet beet salad. Almost like a dessert. It was delicious. Overall the restaurant is a cool spot to visit. The market is a neat addition that adds to the ambiance of the restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
