The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are fragile or handicapped, you do not want to stay here. The access to rooms are not paved and can be hard to navigate. Our room (#14) was extremely difficult to enter. There were two steps to climb. The first one was OK. The second one was more than a foot high. Very difficult to climb. There were no rails or anything else to hold onto. The first thing we saw when we entered our room was a broom with a wad of hair stuck to it. Then a dust pan just lying on the floor. Then there was the bathroom. Let's just say that I have seen larger in a small motor home. The most redeeming factor is that the beds were very comfortable. If you are young and healthy, this could be a nice place to stay. The scenery in the area was awesome. read more

There are a lot of positives about this resort: the river is beautiful, the "town" is super cute, and the staff is friendly. I've stayed here twice, and our accommodations the first time around in one of the larger cabins was beautiful. Everything was very clean, and modern looking. However, I was significantly less impressed when we came back and stayed in one of the smaller cabins. There were orange stains on all of the linen, the lighting was strange, and it just looked and felt dingy. It also lacked basic necessities to be comfortable in an overnight stay, like paper towels and regular towels (they tell you to bring your own but I still find it strange). The area and town are beautiful, so we would like to return but I will consider looking into alternate accommodations next time. read more

I'm not sure where to start! The accommodations are adorable The "town" like vibe is breathtaking, we walked around just adoring the buildings, statues and scenery, there's so much history here. The pool was filled with awesome people, polite kids and clean water. The grills are new, clean and recently upgraded The RIVER is the highlight, you can tube, float, or drop a shade canopy and enjoy your party Our staff favorite was Patrick, he was so helpful and kind. He even gave us a tour that the kids LOvEd during a busy weekend, I was so impressed he took the time to accommodate. We will talk about our trip for a while! 3 days at the 7A last week. We had a blast and our little house was fanastic. The staff were very plesant and attentive and the pool and river of course also a very good time. Areas for improvement could be addition of sidewalks or walkways to the river where some damage apparently has occured. read more

The new management at 7A Resort is killin' it! I am amazed at the beautiful renovations going on at this Hill Country treasure. I'd stayed here as a kid with my family and smile now, thinking back on all the hot dogs, pillow fights and rope swings. It was a joy to get to revisit old memories and create new experiences with my friends a few months ago in the 'Moonlight Lodge'. It was HUGE, easily sleeping our group of 16, complete with a large kitchen and a great grill and fire pit out back! The common areas feature "Pioneer Town", with an ice cream parlor, an arcade, fun photo spots and the nicest staff around! Overall, I'd highly recommend this spot for anything from a romantic getaway to a family reunion. They seem to have a wide variety of offerings, depending on the occasion and group size. The team at 7A are full of care; showing a truly hospitable, authentic attitude in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. read more

Love everything about 7A! We are "local" to the area and 7A is such a great place to spend the day with our family and friends. Our younger boys love the rope swings and playing in the rapids. Our older boys love skippin rocks on the water and throwing their football near the river bank. All 4 of our boys love the arcade, shuffle board table and ice cream parlor. I love that I can bring my own food and drinks . There is also a space where they sell water shoes, tubes and really cute/fun T-shirt's and swimwear. The staff has always been super friendly too. We love this place and highly recommend it! read more

For $5 per person we parked, took a quick swim in the Blanco River, and walked around the camp. It's a very low key 60s feeling camp (resort must be ironic) with a Potemkin village 1870s western (pioneer) town, with an opera house, jail, chapel, an actual restored house from the era (nice!). The crowd we saw looked like friendly bikers resting after a tiring trip. Lots of Bud Light, inner tubes, rafts, and fun. No sign of kids though they may have been in the retro arcade. If you want to swim and it's hot bring suits, towels and grippy water shoes. It is very difficult without the shoes, slippery. Bring your own food or eat at the nearby awesome Leaning Pear, a modern masterpiece of a restaurant, well worth an hour long drive. read more

Hidden gem. Discovered after finding Blue Hole closed due to capacity. Open to public for swimming on the Blanco river. Nice mix of shallow and deep. Easy water access but being water shoes for the kids. Coolers allowed but no booze unless your a guest. Pets welcome on leash. Came on a weekend and was moderately busy maybe 30 ppl but plenty of space to spread out and get shade. Cabin rentals and party rooms on property. Cabins are super cute vintage 50's style. Rustic but have charm. Water front access for most cabins. Pool on property which is well kept (guests only). Vintage arcade! Yes! And a cool pioneer/cowboy town on property with shops. Overall cute day trip or fun weekend hangout. read more

So sad to see this place become what it is today. Our family came out here for 30 years until the flood & renovations were made my the new owners. At first we were so happy to hear someone purchased the 7a and planned to rebuild. We loved this place back in the day, because our large family could afford this place to go to. However this place and the family running it has ruined any chance of my family ever returning to stay or even set foot in the river AS A NOW LOCAL! We used to be able to get in the river by just paying 5 dollars to park our car. Now it's charging 5 per person! This ain't Schlitterbahn OR a damn river you float down. Even floating and parking at the Guadalupe river is free!!!! And I'm pretty sure I'm now blocked from commenting or liking their stuff on Facebook because I've commented on posts where others felt the same as I do. I can't comment or like ANYTHING, yet the hubs can. Go read the low star reviews yourself. Unless you're pretty well off or don't mind staying at "5 star hotels" with a New York price, you don't wanna look here! Also: PLEASE don't reply with a basic ass comment with how you're "sorry to hear about [my] disappointment" or that "you're disappointed in my experience" because we all know that's a crock of you know what! read more

When we rolled up to swim in the area there is no sign saying it was sold out for swimming. When we went in to pay for wristbands, they said they were sold out! Mind you we drove all the way from San Antonio and the front desk could not spare even 5 more wristband claiming to have the river full when there were only 10 in the water. Did not even offer credit for next time or anything. Ask for the manager and no one is there. read more

Nice option to access the river thru the $10 day passes. My only complaint would be that I wished the website had suggested wearing river shoes - the rocks are super slippy, not just accessing the water but also in the water too, all of the rocks are like walking on a skating rink. Other than that, we'd definitely go again, good fun all around. read more

Great family experience! Loved it! Wonderful weekend escape from Austin. We booked a classic cabin and had a wonderful time! Reasonably priced. Modestly, but nicely refreshed Classic Cabins - great access to the river. We felt safe and we really relaxed. Thanks for not skimping on beds! Sparkling (but chilly) pool (April1). The first annual easter egg hunt was icing on the cake. Looking forward to visiting again. Hoping the charming western town gets a facelift. Couldn't put a price on the evening breeze, a family barbeque and a fire-pit for s'mores and a beautiful view from our own porch. Dog friendly. The staff was lovely, as well. One note - there is a road (lightly traveled while we were there) that you (and more importantly, your kiddos) have to cross to get to the river. read more

7A Resort is also home to Pioneer Town. I have many fond memories of performing gunfights in the streets of Pioneer Town with a post-Civil war entertainment group back in the late 90's. This resort offers a variety of accomodations ranging from hotel rooms and cottages to entire lodges that can be reserved for large groups (family reunions, team building, etc). We are looking forward to having our family reunion there in the fall. The property is located within walking distance of the Blanco River. It is set on hilly terrain with cottages nestled among the shade trees. This is a place of relaxation and fun. read more

I originally booked a cabin in the resort to spend a few lazy days on the river with my family. However, after reserving through a 3rd party booking company, we were canceled 2 days before our expected arrival due to overbooking. We ended up scrambling to find another place that unfortunately did not have river access. Due to limited river access in this city we ended up buying day passes to use the river at 7A which, at $10pp was ridiculous. I have to say it is a beautiful facility with a beautiful section of the river. Once we set up we definitely enjoyed our time until, I was hit in the head with a rock by teenagers throwing rocks. Although skeptical about returning the next day, the kids really loved the river and wanted to come back. I let the staff know about the previous days incident in hopes that they would monitor the river a little better that day. The next day started much better until, a rowdy beer guzzling, jello shot taking obnoxious group decided to blast their music (explicit version) so loud that you could not hear the person standing next to you. There was a staff member sitting by the river that never decided to enforce any of the posted rules, that would have made everyones experience a little better. I was pretty much done at that point and we decided to leave. read more

This place is awesome! It's the perfect getaway! From being able to grill out to access the river or spend the day at the pool it's amazing! And it helps that they have everything you need if you were to forget water shoes or sunscreen! The cabins are amazing! If we could never leave we wouldn't! This resort is cute as can be! Wonderful location and great views. Easy access to the river (walk across the street) and about a 5 min drive into Wimberley town proper. We stayed in a Cantina Cabin with 4 adults. There was ample space for everyone, but if you are a light sleeper, you might have some trouble. The bunk beds creek (loudly), so every time someone moves, you're likely to wake up your roommate. And you can hear just about everything in the next door bedroom through the shared wall. But even with all that being said, we would still definitely come back! Next time I would bring a fan or something for white noise to help with sleeping. read more
