He assured me he would return to finish work he had omitted, specifically pruning about 30 plants that were left unaddressed. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of paying him upfront before inspecting the work. My advice: either don't use him or, if you do, never pay until the work is 100% complete. Unfortunately, this one was on me.

He explained what was going on and offered a few options with an assessment of how likely they would be to save the tree. Unfortunately the high heat and dry weather stressed this tree enough to attract Ambrosia beetles. They had infested the tree. It was only a matter of weeks before it completely died. Decided to have them remove the tree and grind the stump. Stuart gave me a quote immediately and was able to have a team out the next day. Guys show up a little early, super professional. Got the job done and cleaned up in abounds hour. If the tree can be saved they will. If not, they can remove it before it becomes a problem. Highly recommended.

Since we live on a busy street, I knew this would be a better option. The two-man crew arrived at the end of the day but stayed as long as necessary to complete the tree pickup and thoroughly cleaned the area despite the diminishing sunset illumination. Since it rained the next couple of days, another two-man crew arrived to grind the stump and were in/out in less than an hour. I will happily consider using them again for non-storm related tree services on my property going forward.

Whitwell Landscaping recently completed a drainage solution to help our water drain properly from…read morethe driveway down a hill running alongside our house. The rain water was forcing our retaining wall to begin to collapse and ruining the turf/grass down the hill. I put in a request for a quote and got a response within 24 hours to set up a day/time to have someone come look at the project. Joe came out a few days later and walked the area of concern with me. While he was here, I had him quote another area in the backyard that we were thinking about getting some help with. Joe's suggestion was to cut down a tree overlooking our backyard fence and several limbs on surrounding trees to help get the problem area out of the shade. He also suggested a different type of grass that thrived more in the shade to give it the best chance for survival. We ended up using their services for this area as well. They removed several large rocks that were just peaking through the surface and/or clumped in our backyard, adding fertilizer and sod to the areas and handling the shade/trees. A few weeks later, the project was completed. Donald was the lead on the actual project and was extremely helpful/friendly and efficient. Even after we reached out to Joe and team after the project was completed about an area of concern, they immediately took to correcting it and made sure that we were happy! I would recommend this team to anyone into using their services. I read and researched a lot of companies doing similar work and chose this company based on their reviews and they delivered the quality I was expecting and hoping for with a smile on their face! Thank you Joe Whitwell Landscaping!

They do…read moreongoing lawn service for us, have installed a river rock bed to help with drainage on our property, installed Leland trees, green giants and tea olive bushes as well as decorative slate chips. I highly recommend them. They are consistent in showing up on lawn service and do some extras I really value. For example, they mow and edge and then blow the extra cuttings and my decking around my pool off and make it look nice. Pretty standard. But they also clean up my flower beds picking out debris pulling stray weeds and treating weeds when they grow- that is a big help to me and adds value to me in what they do and what I pay for. I am very particular and have high expectations. When I have needed a change or needed to identify something - they take responsibility and are always willing to work with me and accommodate my request. Every customer has needs and we all need to know someone will work us to accommodate those needs and requests.... and the Beyond the Curb owner and the workers are all great to work with and they work to accommodate my requests. Their staff: They are friendly and if they ever see me in the yard, they turn their mowers off and ask if I need anything. It's good service with good people.
