Not only do they have everything for your garden, building supplies, home renovation and repair, etc. etc. but they also have lumber, paint, and candles, hats, and other fun little things you won't find anywhere else. It's a little hidden gem of a hardware store but definitely worth the trip if you'd like to get out of the city, go for a drive, see some cows, horses, old barns, and abandoned rail cars along the way.

The BAD - you walk in to the sporting goods side and the guy behind the counter gives you a look of disgust for daring to come in. He does ask if he can help you - though it's clear that is the last thing he really wants to do. I've been in twice - same guy, same attitude. It's a shame that all the great things the folks in the front hardware side do get cancelled out with what you remember - this guy treating you an unwelcome and unwanted visitor.

I have been redoing the bathroom on Lil Pugs side of house and had a leaking faucet, replaced cartridges and still leaks. Made the trip to Wigman's and talked with the fella about it, he schooled me on spring/seal behind cartridges. He set me up with what I needed and instructions on how to install, a simple procedure I am sure everyone knows but me (I am more auto repair than home repair). Followed his steps and leak gone in less than 10 minutes, no telling what drama and expense he saved me. Every trip here is the same, it starts with a "what can I do to help" and ends with a reasonably priced purchase of ONLY what I need, and tips and pointers on how to do it. They didn't have the handle I needed but it is an older and unusual item, (who breaks a shower handle?) and they do often have those type items. If you need a REAL hardware store, you can't beat Wigman's. Prices are in line with big box, help yourself 'cause employee is former fry cook at local burger joint stores.
