Brewery #463 The last stop on my 9-day road trip ended up at Southern Philosophy for lunch on July 4th before my 6-hour drive home. I usually order a flight, but they were really busy, so I just ordered a pint of their Mexican Hazy which was an interesting fusion type beer. Don't make me mansplain that. I then ordered some Chili lime wings. The wings are cooked in a wood burning stove so a few of them were a little to burnt. Other than that, they were really good. I got another beer called Velvet Wonder which was a Belgian Triple. It was pretty good. Next time I am road tripping through Georgia, I will definitely stop back to try one of their pizzas and a flight. Cool place with really cool people working here. read more

Me and my colleague wandered into the quaint town square area in search of a pizza and beer... we found it. Best pizza pie in Bainbridge, along with a variety of beer styles to choose from. My coworker had a crisp Native Light, and I started w a cocktail. We had to get our veggies in for the day, so we each had a Side Salad. We ordered two pies, one Southy and one American, which we split. Tasty and good crust. Southern Philosophy must be the place to be in town, as it was busy. This place has become a fixture in Bainbridge and we are lucky to have them. The staff is always great, no matter how busy they are. We frequent southern philosophy and have enjoyed all of their offerings. You can close your eyes then point at the menu and end up with something amazing but our favorite eats are the Ecuason and southern philosophy pizzas, the chicken pub salad and the chili lime wings. Loved the Southern Philosophy pie, a very creative combination! The pecan-parmesan dusting contrasted wonderfully with the sweetness of local peaches and balsamic glaze. Topped with arugula creating multi layers of flavor. Prosciutto melded with the other ingredients, itself sweet and savory. Crust was perfectly soft with crisp buttery exterior, and smelled amazing. Yogi Jam Pomegranate was my favorite beer out of the five I tried. A sour from blackberry, pomegranate, and cherry, tasted like bright jam, sour and sweet. read more

We met with family here for lunch and beers. The parking on a Sunday was easy beside the beautiful park in front of the brewery. We elected to sit out back in the shade to let the little one run around. We tried like nearly every beer between our group. Everything was GREAT. I don't remember names but I stuck with a Mexican style that was simply wonderful and refreshing. We had the charcuterie board while there and got a few pizzas to go. Charcuterie was 7 out of 10 and I will get it again. I'm always super critical of lazy charcuterie so a 7/10 is really good. Pizzas were 9/10. Crispy crusty and excellent topping recipes. We got the Southy, the Southern Philosophy, and a little classic for the little one. All superb. Staff were very friendly, attentive, laid back. They set the relaxed atmosphere and that's just what we wanted. Can't wait to go back. I'll take pictures next time. read more

I like this place. The service is a bit slow, but they make up for it with friendliness. Just don't go when you're in a hurry. I'm not really a pizza fan, but theirs is really good. Wood-fired oven set in an old, historic building make for a great atmosphere. They have a nice bourbon selection and plenty of beer choices. This was my first visit, but I'll be back for more. Like I said, they were a bit slow getting to me but more than made up for it with warm smiles and great attitudes. read more

Well this was disappointing. I'm here traveling and was excited to try this place a got a pizza to go. I got there and my pizza was sitting on the counter. I stood there for several minutes, making eye contact with each and every staff member - no one acknowledged my existence. After being ignored there for a whole, I went to the cash register by the door so I could be ignored there for several more minutes. I finally literally waved someone down, who got my pizza, but didn't ring it up. Finally a bartender asked me what I needed and he rang me out. I took my tepid pizza and left. I had the Southern Philosophy pie - 9", seemed smaller, and tasted decent. I'm sure it's better when it's fresh and hot. I don't intend on going back. I don't want to work that hard to spend my hard earned money after a long day of work. read more

There are plenty of breweries and pubs in Tallahassee, but we decided to drive up to Bainbridge to check out Southern Philosphy Brewing Co on Saturday. Beer was great with multiple varieties so I had a flight with their porter, Pilsner, Pale Ale, and IPA. They had a few other options including an Amber that was on point. They also offered small plates in slicing cheese boards, salads, and wood fire pizza. We had the cheese board and pizza that both hit the spot. The owners, Gallagher and Nicole, were incredibly hospitable taking time to chat about the new restaurant and plans for the he future. As a fellow beer enthusiast, Gallagher has some great ideas to incorporate local products into his beer including the Georgia peach. Definitely a place to check out. read more

Beer is amazing, bartenders are so helpful and they usually have good dessert. The place is so cool, with old brick walls and a tv playing sports and some movie. I have visited SPB a couple of times with friends. The staff are attentive, helpful, and friendly. They are always happy to offer menu and drink suggestions. The pizzas and apps are really good. I loved the stuffed mushrooms! I have been pleased with each thing I have had from SPB along with the high quality of the food, interesting drinks and atmosphere. This is such a cool and nice place to relax with friends while taking in the views around the town square and it is super convenient to walk around and do local shopping afterward. read more

Went here for lunch since The American was closed and we were disappointed unfortunately. Took about an hour and half to get our 2 pizzas. It wasn't that busy either so not sure why it took so long. This is a small little gem of a brewery in Bainbridge, Georgia, which has really good beer and food. Beer: I tried the Nicole's Wit beer which was crisp with a subtle wit taste. I'm not a fan of heavy wit beer, (thanks to a very drunk night in Vegas) so this was perfect for me. This wit may be too understated for wit lovers, but I liked it because it didn't remind me of puking my guts out. Food: I'm a lover and critic of charcuterie plates, and this was one of the best I've ever had. First of all, the meticulous preparation and presentation was impressive. There were only four cheeses; manchego, blue cheese, brie, and the equivalent of an Irish cheddar. Each of these were paired with grapes, pears, salami, prosciutto, an amazing smoked sausage, and a cured dried beef which was a bit too earthy for my taste. Trying the different combos resulted in an a wonderful variety of flavors. We also ordered the wood fired pizza with smoked sausage and mushrooms, with a crust that was done to perfection. If you ever have the chance, or the need to go to or through Bainbridge, make sure to experience this place! read more

Grew up in Bainbridge. Have been traveling and working internationally ever since I left 20 years ago. Lots of diverse dining experiences. Glad to see a craft brew and pizza joint open up for the locals for when my family and I visit the area. Beer -- Ok. The beers are made to be safe to not alienate I assume. The IPA is definitely missing something as it drinks more like a light IPA without a lot of character. The Brown Ale is good, but a bit too dependent on floral hops and not as much on the fresh baked bread and malt as it should be for the style. The wit is a fine representation of the style, spicy & tasty. However, the winner is the Punkin. I think seasonals of this variety lose themselves in too much cinnamon and nutmeg. Southern Philosophy's Punkin' was a solid brown ale with very complete flavors without the over reliance on pumpkin pie spice tones. Pizza -- Very tasty. I wish they had more ingredient options, especially for spice. No jalapeños. No hot sauces other than Tabasco. The Southy is very good especially with the smoky sausage, but needs a bit of acid or heat which some pepper or a Sriracha dip may have provided. I recommend adding some hot sauce options. The Southern Philosophy signature pie is delicious, but a couple of thoughts... Arugula, balsamic vinegar/Alaga cane sugar were very good. However, the menu says peaches and prosciutto. It does warn that if peaches are not in season that another seasonal fruit will be used. The wait staff should really alert you to the change in case you have any objection. Also, very little if any prosciutto on the pie. However, the pizza was still very tasty. I'd still get it again, but hope to get some peaches and prosciutto and maybe add some blue cheese. Service overall was very good. Add some spice option, and we're all good! read more

So first of all, this place is open on Sundays! Hallelujah! This is a rarity down here in South Georgia. The beer is pretty yummy but the pizza is amazing! We tried the Southy, the sausage has a really good flavor and it has a really nice authentic wood fired Italian crust. The space itself is very nicely decorated with fresh flowers and they play "cool dad" music as my friend described it, aka classic rock but from the B side. read more

We probably waited another 5 minutes before he came back to take our food order. We watched the rest of the tables clear out, and after realizing we were sitting there past closing (walked in 45 min before) with an empty table, we finally asked if our order was being made. Turns out they never rang it in. We have been traveling all day and just needed a bite to eat on the road. This was an hour of our travel time wasted and we walked out with empty stomachs.
