The cheese curds app with ranch and pizza sauce on the side was tasty. The salmon dinner was on special, so I tried it with grits and creamed corn. The salmon was superb, perfectly seasoned and buttered. The corn was clearly creamed in house because it looked unusual, but tasted perfect. Even the unexpected hushpuppies were A-1. DW opted for the cheesesteak sandwich. A bit too much of the shaved steak was gristle (which went home for the dog), and the roll was not robust enough to handle the contents well, but the remainder of the experience was OK. The drinks were huge and refreshing. The service was prompt and cheerful. I'd surely come back when I'm in the Chatahoochie area, and so would DW (but she wouldn't order a sandwich). read more

We were pleasantly surprised by Johnny Macs. We got there 30 minutes before closing and they had ran out of pulled pork so we got a cheesesteak and it was not shaved beef but chunks of tasty steak. Salad bar was good. The order of fried pickles was huge and crispy, the ranch that comes with them is tasty. Also got the BLT and it had lots of bacon! I believe it may have been applewood smoked bacon, maybe not, but it was tasty. Coleslaw was awesome! Cheese grits were good also. Coffee was good. Restaurant was clean. Judi was our waitress, super nice! The staff was also very friendly. We will visit again when we are in this neck of the woods again. read more

I went to Johnny Mac's with my daughter recently. I had the Johnny Mac special hamburger, and oh my goodness don't get this unless you really hungry. I took half of it Home. It has double burgers. We went here for dinner on Monday, the food was good and very well priced. The special was 2 pork chops and 2 sides for under $12. Brea was our server, she was great - very attentive. They had a pretty good selection of foods, and the atmosphere was cute (Route 66 kitschy), the restaurant was very clean. I drive from Bonifay to eat here as often as possible. This food is always delicious any staff is always attentive to my every need. My family loves dining here. Yesterday I was in Panama City and had eaten at Outback for lunch. I got a filet mignon and it was delicious. Family wanted to go to Johnny Mac's for supper so we went. I ordered another filet. Having eaten one for lunch the one for supper was held to high scrutiny. But after much deliberation and much eating I had to hands down vote Johnny Mac's filet mignon above the one from Outback. I've never had a meal here that wasn't phenomenal. Every waitress treats you like a king and the kitchen puts so much attention and love in to their skill. I wish I lived closer to dine here more often. I actually schedule work in the area around being able to stop by Johnny Mac's for lunch or dinner. Wanted to send out a special thanks to Johnie for being an excellent host for a private party we booked. He gave us the seafood buffet on a Saturday afternoon (they usually open at 4). Everything was tasty as normal and the crew went above and beyond to make the party a special event. Their buffet features shrimp both broiled and fried.
