As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were asked for our party number and were seated at a table. The front of the place was being used for dinner that night and the back had their lights off. The waiters were all young men who were dressed in similar clothes resembling a uniform. They were polite and diligent. They have small sushi bar where they make their wonderful rolls. Their menu is large and they offer a variety of dishes from appetizers to bowls, dishes and sushi. Our waiter offered advice on what vegetarian sushi rolls were better and what their ingredients were. We ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and a dish of beef and broccoli with fried rice. We also ordered a hot green tea and sweet tea. The sushi roll was beautifully presented in a ceramic and decorated dish with small bowl for the soy sauce. We asked for chop sticks, which our waiter promptly pulled out of his apron's pocket. The table was clean and set with a fork and spoon, and condiments. The green tea was also presented in a clean, ceramic white teapot with a ceramic cup. Our food came out shortly after presented in delicate cream colored ceramic dishes, which enhanced the food colors and overall presentation. The food was delicious and the portions generous. This place stands out and differs from the traditional Chinese restaurants where they serve a large tray of the main dish and a bowl of rice. We loved their food and overall appearance of the restaurant. The waiters were diligent and polite. We highly recommend UME Japanese and Chinese Restaurant is Marianna, FL.

These scores can be seen on Yelp and the restaurant is deceiving the customers. Portions are good but their practices don't make up for it. I remember back in the day as an inspector that fountain drink machines can develop mold around the nozzle so maybe that's the issue. One final note, I almost forgot is the fact that you could hear the owners yelling at each other in the back room from the dining room. Very unprofessional. This place needs a lot of improvement. Just another update. Yelp reached out to me that there was a conflict of interest in my report. Let's get one thing straight all of these things happen while I was there during my visit. Being the Asian food lover that I am, my friends and I had to try it out! First impressions were good. The inside was totally remodeled, and it looks great too. Modern aesthetic combined with a hint of Asian flare give the place a lot to offer. The space is a bit small but they have decent seating and quick turn around time. This place is not teppenyaki style, so they don't cook on a grill in front of you. Rather you are waited on and brought your food. We went only a few days after their grand opening, and I must say I was impressed with the performance of the staff. Everyone I encountered was nice, and our waitress was very prompt and got our food out to us extremely quickly even while being moderately busy. I'm impressed by the prices. I posted pictures of the menu so you can see for yourself, but they are very well priced. I paid a total of $32 for 2 people who both got appetizer/sushi and a main course. The meal could easily be $20 or less at lunch for 2 people depending on what you get. As for the quality of the food, it was also excellent. The Yaki Soba was very tasty, and they give you a house yum yum sauce on the table to add as much as you want. The hibachi chicken lunch portion was good, rice had a very fresh flavor, and the vegetables all around were cooked well. The meat was good, but I felt in comparison it lacked some flavor. The Miami Roll has cream cheese, crab, and avocado, and it was very fresh with 6 large pieces. Very impressed!
