BUT... it was only a brief moment of disappointment as they saw us out front and threw open the doors a solid 15 min early and seated us like a member of their family. There were several dinner specials, but we came for the fried shrimp, and special it was!!! Neither of us could finish our plates as the shrimp were absolutely massive. We had also indulged in dinner rolls with a honey butter that can only be described as "dessert worthy". Their cheese grits and collards filled my soul in the best possible way. Large wooden tables, comfy banquette seating, and charming small town vibes were found throughout Big Papa's Chophouse. They even had the ACV Network on TV. The staff was friendly, attentive, and so very accommodating to us despite us arriving like early houseguests. We can't wait to come back for Prime Rib night. 10/10

Instant mas potatoes, cold fries, and the catfish seems like it was frozen fish. I will never return to this restaurant.

If you know anything about middle eastern, Turkish or Mediterranean food this place doesn't have the flavor. Had the chicken shawarma and it's made from chicken fingers, the fattoush was a bit of a joke it was iceberg lettuce (lol) and not one touch of sumac. While the food was meh I wouldn't call this Mediterranean by any stretch of the imagination. If I didn't know Mediterranean maybe it would somehow fool me. Buddy had the lamb shank and it was tender but completely bland. Sorry, won't be back.

The place is located right on highway 90 in Marianna; their parking lot is ample. Their front and side of the building need a fresh coat of paint though. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were asked for our party number and were seated at a table. The front of the place was being used for dinner that night and the back had their lights off. The waiters were all young men who were dressed in similar clothes resembling a uniform. They were polite and diligent. They have small sushi bar where they make their wonderful rolls. Their menu is large and they offer a variety of dishes from appetizers to bowls, dishes and sushi. Our waiter offered advice on what vegetarian sushi rolls were better and what their ingredients were. We ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and a dish of beef and broccoli with fried rice. We also ordered a hot green tea and sweet tea. The sushi roll was beautifully presented in a ceramic and decorated dish with small bowl for the soy sauce. We asked for chop sticks, which our waiter promptly pulled out of his apron's pocket. The table was clean and set with a fork and spoon, and condiments. The green tea was also presented in a clean, ceramic white teapot with a ceramic cup. Our food came out shortly after presented in delicate cream colored ceramic dishes, which enhanced the food colors and overall presentation. The food was delicious and the portions generous. This place stands out and differs from the traditional Chinese restaurants where they serve a large tray of the main dish and a bowl of rice. We loved their food and overall appearance of the restaurant. The waiters were diligent and polite. We highly recommend UME Japanese and Chinese Restaurant is Marianna, FL.
