The crew was very neat, cleaned up after themselves, and made no drips or got paint where it shouldn't be. We hired them to paint the outside of our house and am hiring again for inside painting. Pics speak for themselves. All pics are of the end result -after 2 coats of top tier paint. They were definitely in the low price range for the work, but they were the only ones available for our timeframe. I even paid them extra for them to do a good job AND tipped because they complained the quote was too low, but there's the results. Missed promises and undelivered. Paint splatter everywhere, overpaint drips and bubbles, missed areas completely, didn't tape areas sufficiently so parts of my walls are stained, etc. Frustrated at the "good enough" and lack of ownership and pride with the work. I could've done a better job with the spray gun. This is an absolute mess and I'll need to contact another painting company to redo everything. I contacted the painter, but 0 ownership or accountability. Please don't waste your time and money. Oh, and they also did some drywall repair and "touched up paint." Area was not plumb, and that touch up paint job was horrendous. read more

I just wanted to send out some positive reviews on "Southern Painting company". After asking for a painter in the area I got their contact info and decided to have them give me an estimate. We basically had our whole home inside and even some of it outside done as well. Lots of chipped rounded corners, holes in the wall and a banister that needed to be stained. Mark took care of it all! His crew swept in days later and completed my laundry list of things to do. They were quick and the work was quality with a 3 year transferable warranty to the next homeowners. Very impressed with them and will be using them again on my other homes needs. read more

We had another great experience with Southern Painting. (they also removed entire house popcorn and painted a vaulted den ceiling several years ago- still looking great!) Mark came out to see our somewhat botched ceiling that a handy man worked on for over 2 weeks. Worked us into the schedule and Rene and Lebrodio (sp?) did an excellent job fixing the paint, texture, cracks and unevenness. Will definitely call them for any future work. read more

I want to preface my review with the info that I used Southern Painting 11 years ago to paint my house and they did a fabulous job. Fast forward to February 2019 when I called them to do some paint repairs for me. I found out that the gentleman who owned it had sold to another entity. Well, I went ahead and booked a visit to do an estimate for my repairs. I was told this would cost to do the estimate, but I agreed. The salesman, Mark Hollingsworth, came out and met with my husband and said he would email us an estimate. A week later and calls and emails, and we finally got an estimate. We had a few questions and couldn't get him to respond back. All in all, it took a month to get our responses. Then we tried to schedule a date and went through the same rigamarole. Interesting fact: this Mark Hollingsworth can't be reached my calling their office and using the auto promoter to choose a salesperson by name. We got hold of someone who said that "Mark was out of town" so that is why he was hard to get hold of. I can honestly say I've never worked with an organization this unprofessional. We had to call and complain several times to get the work done. Mark promised to come out the day of the work to show the guy what all needed painting. He didn't. He lied several times to us. The work was done today. This will be the last time I use this company! read more

After getting quotes from 5+ different painters, we decided to go with Southern Painting to do the entire interior of our new home (walls, ceilings, baseboards, crown moldings, and doors). Rob was our salesperson and also oversaw the work. He was responsive to any questions and concerns we had, and his team was professional, efficient, and on time everyday. Our project was estimated to take more than a week, but they finished in exactly 7 days despite a day delay because of an issue with the paint color (which was our fault). Everything looks amazing and we still cannot believe how much a change of paint can make a difference to our house! Should have read some of previous reviews before accepting bid with this company. Same problem with Mark stringing things along, with need for numerous contacts trying to pin down date for painting. Said he would have a date by a certain date and nothing. After another contact, he asked what would be best for me in the next couple of weeks. I replied that any day would work for and for him to select a date best for him. Waited another 8-9 days with no response, and so I cancelled. How's that for customer relations ! read more

Had Southern Painting take all the popcorn off my ceilings, which was a massive and multi-day job. The crew worked very hard and did an excellent, very professional job. It wasn't cheap, but it was a very quality, VERY involved job. A couple years later, we replaced some light fixtures and noticed that the popcorn was still showing below where the fixtures had been (the fixtures were covering them). I asked them to come out and touch it up. It took a number of phone calls to get them to finally schedule someone to come out, but when they did, they had their guys repaint my whole kitchen ceiling at no charge so that MORE than made up for the delay. Southern painted the exterior of our very large home and did a good job at a competitive price. There were some issues with errant paint on our deck, but that is to be expected and it was handled expeditiously. We used them for a small job on the interior and again, it was good work. The price was a little higher than other quotes, but we used them because of the quality. We priced them for a large interior job. Despite our repeat business, and the fact that we brought them a lot of business through references on the exterior work, their price was quite high compared to other bids. We asked for reconsideration of the price because we wanted to use them, but were not able to close the gap so we went another direction. Bottom line, a little pricey but quality work. No credit for repeat business or references to other homeowners. read more

TLDR: Great company, ON TIME, good price and great final product (exterior of my house). I'm very happy w/ my experience w/ Southern painting, specifically Rob Ellis and his crew. I got about 4 quotes when shopping to have the exterior of my house pained. They were tied for lowest, but their communication was way better than the other companies. I did a walk through w/ Rob, so it's always nice to be able to meet the owner face to face. He put me on the schedule and got started on the date promised. It was a big job, but they got it done ON TIME and CORRECTLY. I did a walk through and found some very minor issues which Rob addressed right away. Terrible experience! Incompetent crew. Ineffective salesperson (Mark). Project lead (Rene) was a ghost. A 3-4 day external house painting project turned into 3 weeks (3weeks!) of a trashed worksite. The crew was left unsupervised to handle prep work (repairs, primer, caulk, etc) and seemed reluctant to finish prep before painting. Called our point of contact (Mark) numerous times to ask for corrections and where was the project lead (Rene)? We actually had to lock up the paint because the crew just kept painting before all prep was finished! Lots of wasted paint, time, and materials. It came down to us finally asking for the owner's contact info. Suddenly the project became important enough to complete & the project lead was onsite for the final 2 days. Owner (Ellis) said; "If I had known sooner, I would have sent different crew." What??! You sent us your D-team? Does another competent A-team exist? How effective is your salesperson as our point of contact? Why didn't he keep you informed of all progress? Why did we need to call you? Not surprisingly, both owner and salesperson seemed very interested in NOT receiving a bad review. Right.... Job finally finished. Not worth the pain. Would NEVER recommend Southern Painting. A huge waste of time! The company was responsive at the beginning until the consultation and it all went downhill from there. Mark came for the consultation and the service was scheduled quickly. During the consultation he actually pointed out how straight the edges of our bedroom collar were so I figured they would match those finishes, not even close! We had some cracks to repair in a bedroom and living room and some patchwork on a bathroom wall. All but one of the repairs were done poorly, the paint in our bathroom was sloppy and the edges were not finished well at all. The bedroom was painted the original color rather than the color we wanted, and the repairs there are very noticeable. Mark actually came back to look at the poor work and admitted it needed to be redone. I refused to have the same crew do the work due to their unprofessional behavior and shoddy work so I was supposed to get a different crew last week, which never happened. Work was scheduled for today and they are a no show. Mark is now unresponsive. Save yourself the hassle and hire a different company. read more

Lee P Had Southern Painting to come out and give estimate on repair to stain outside shutters and sand/stain inside banister. The bid was fair but the work crew was a disaster. The crew apparently was not properly informed on details of the job and I had to review work order with them. The quality of the work was horrible. Had to wind up re-coating the banister myself to give in the smooth feel and gloss it originally had. The workers left stain on my interior walls and on my exterior stone from the shutters. Love these guys. Have painted two houses for me in the past,most recently in the last week. Super courteous,professional and their approach was focused on the customer. Philippe and his crew were awesome. They worked incredibly hard in really hot weather and got my job done quickly. We had stucco repair and concrete staining estimates that were outrageous (from another company). Southern came out gave me many options to consider - all of which were less than the other company. At first I thought this company was legit. Chris came out and measured and gave me a bid. We agreed and then he brought his foreman to look at our deck and advice on sanding the scratches. The bid we agreed on was $700 and included stain plus labor and using their sander to sand he deck about 1/8". The foreman said they would need to sand deeper so Chris was going to send me another price w a slight increase due to sanding deeper. The bid I got was $1750. So it was a 2.5 times increase. I told him it was unacceptable to mark up the price that much more and asked him why it went so much higher. He never would respond with why. He was not able to be direct about it and that is unprofessional. read more

Zach gave us a very competitive bid on our home's exterior painted surfaces. This was a fairly large job, and required some scraping and re-priming. Jose and his crew worked very hard and showed tremendous attention to detail right through the finish. My wife and I are very happy with how it looks and look forward to years of its beauty. I heard from many neighbors about the reputation of Southern Painting, so I called them for a home estimate. They sent out one of their managers, Zachary Joseph, and I immediately felt his interest, honesty, professionalism and knowledge about my project. I had many different color preferences for each room and he helped me decide on the best color selections for my home. They finished painting my home in two days or less. The paint crew was so meticulous with no drips, spots or spills, that I decided to have them paint my garage also. The crew immediately and carefully emptied my garage and prepped it for the paint. They cleaned out all the dirt and cobwebs and began painting. I was overjoyed when the entire project was complete and the manager, Zach Joseph, was a complete gentleman. They were horrible! The crew was slow and, arrived around 9:30, took long lunch breaks and left early. They managed to take three weeks to paint my 1900-square foot house, were supposed to put on two coats on the walls but only did one and all walls are streaking and blotched. They used water-based paint on the cabinets and the steel door and they started peeling within weeks. They had to redo three interior doors twice and finally had to replace them and repaint the replacements. It was the worst paint job I have ever seen and I am sorry that I will have to live with it until it's time to repaint. I've already had someone come in and repaint the doors and some of the cabinets. read more
