I'm extremely disappointed with the experience my mother and I had today at Exotic Nails in…read morePepperell, MA. We both went in for gel pedicures, and my mother also received a gel manicure. To be clear, this review isn't about the quality of the actual nail work, which was satisfactory--it's about the lack of accountability and poor management surrounding a clear pricing error on their end. When my nail technician asked if I wanted the spa pedicure, I requested to see the booklet listing all pedicure options. The spa pedicure was clearly listed at $39. I confirmed that's what I wanted, and my mother said she'd have the same. However, when it came time to pay, my total was $82. I paid by card, sent the tip to my technician separately via Venmo, and then returned to my car, where I began to realize the math didn't add up--even with extras like callus removal and the gel polish upgrade. I called the salon to inquire, and I was told that we had actually received the deluxe pedicure, which is $65, that the wording was "confusing" and that we should have known we were getting the deluxe because we've had pedicures there before. I explained that we based our decision on the menu provided to us during the visit, which clearly stated $39 for the spa pedicure. We were not informed at any point that we were being given the more expensive deluxe service, nor do we know the specifics of how their packages may have changed. I requested a refund of the difference between the 2 pedicure packages --$26 each--for being charged for a service we did not knowingly agree to. I was told that a refund would not be issued because the technicians "used more product," and again, that we should have known what service we were getting. Instead, I was offered a $10 discount for each of us. This response is unacceptable. A reputable business should take responsibility for its own mistakes, especially when the error stems from unclear communication and inaccurate menu information. We will not be returning. If this is how Exotic Nails conducts business, I encourage others to explore the many other salons in the area that value customer service and transparency.

Called looking for a base pedicure - mentioned I did not have the extra money for a spa pedicure -…read moreso could I have an appt with a person that is cool with that. I came in at the time they provided. The manager walked me over to the chair for my pedicure and asked - you want an upgraded spa pedicure? People around so I did not want to say I could only afford the base pedicure and just said no spa pedicure. Got my feet in water and the tech came over and asked what do you want - I said base pedicure. Not to take that as an answer - she said why not a spa pedicure, a lot of men get them here, etc. I understand that they run a business and want to upsell, however I did not appreciate the repeated upsell pressure. she has not started the pedicure so I said I no longer wanted anything and left. I won't be back

**Update 8/17/22:…read more The owner of the spa, Rupa, had reached out after seeing my review. Her text to me did not address my issues/ how they could've been handled differently. When I tried to politely respond to her message, I received a message that my number had been blocked. I was really hoping that I would have had the chance to speak to the owner about my experience, but this has added further to my poor experience. I hope that moving forward, the business is able to take my experience into consideration to better serve their future customers.

I actually work out in this area and have seen this spa before. It's close to north end and to the water as well. Adara is actually under new ownership now- and the spa has been renovated and looks fabulous. I believe it was earlier this month that they finally opened again after changing ownership. They have some soothing water sounds coming from the entryway right when you walk in. There's also some yummy Lindt chocolate on the table for when you are craving something sweet. I was offered a drink upon arrival and everyone was really sweet. I got the Adara Signature Facial and it was a very relaxing hour. There is some extraction though...but beauty is pain right? Grace was the one who gave me my facial and my skin got so much softer after I came out from there. She used G.M. Collin products on me and basically personalized which product of that line to use when I told her my skin troubles. Everything smelled really great and I've had a bunch of facials before from everywhere I've traveled to. I usually treat myself to one since it's such a staple of a vacation. I found the experience very peaceful and quiet, no crazy noises from outside- felt like i was in my own world. I saw that they do mani/pedi's and the pedicure station LOOKS so nice!!! They have OPI and essie products from what I saw. There's also a fun swinging chair you can sit on if you happen to arrive early. I would definitely recommend since if you compare the pricing to other spas, this one is much friendlier to your wallet and experience is comparable.
