Love this Salon but even more than the salon are the people who work there especially Carlee. Carlee is so amazingly talented and such a joy to have work on me. Her waxing technique is perfect. Today I was lucky enough to have mad an appointment at Soleil Salon in Windham NH with David! After a relaxing shampoo, David begin to style my hair, this is the first time that I had met this stylist. Only one word was said when I was asked what I would like. Volume. I was absolutely amazed at the fact that I hadn't said anything more. I trust this salon implicitly. Believe me this is the best Blow-Out that I have ever had. David is simply amazing. He turned my average hair into a stylish do fit for the Red Carpet. I am attending a wedding and wanted to treat myself today. I am so blown away by his talent. The staff were very nice, but the spa had an overwhelming smell of incense, and I felt as though the music was too loud and not relaxing. My therapist was okay, but wanted to chat most of the time while I was just trying to relax. I don't think that I will go back here for massage services, as my massage wasn't anything special. FIVE stars for my facial with Keishla, she was wonderful, asked a lot of questions to be sure she was providing the experience I was looking for and she gave me great tips on how to best apply the products I use. I was greeted warmly and brought back to the Spa -- the Spa space is warm and relaxing, separate from the Salon space. I was surprised at how large the entire space is, and it seemed that they were doing some renovations which was nice to see. THREE stars for the checkout experience, although I couldn't blame the poor girl checking me out, she was trying and she could not have been more sweet. I had an Aveda points certificate (the only reason I chose Soleil was that they participate in the Aveda points program) and she had trouble figuring out how to put it into their system. When she went to find help, she came back and said that they would take the certificate this time but I wouldn't be able to use one again, which was disappointing. I really liked Soleil (although it's 30 minutes from home), so I will have to verify about their participation in the Aveda points program. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Went to get a mani/pedi and eyelashes. The mani looked like my 10 year old did it and the lashes literally lasted 1 day. When the came off they weren't even all the same size or style. Horrible and terribly overpriced! Save your money! read more

The check in process was very friendly, with a nice cup of coffee as a bonus. They ran about 20 minutes behind, though I was so appreciative to get an appt with short notice (and had coffee), it was ok. A bit pricey, but Marsha really took her time to make sure there wasn't a hair out of place; not easy with short hair that has a mind of its own! The only real negative was that Marsha was not in their tipping system, so I could only tip in cash (which limited the amount since I only had about eight bucks on me. read more

Great experience. Katherine did my eyebrows and was awesome. The waxing hurt less than any other time I've had it done, and also nearly no redness afterwards. Usually I'm a lobster after a wax. This time it was so painless, and you couldn't even tell I'd just had a wax. She really knew her stuff. She also was just super cool. Karson did my haircut. I mentioned wanting to try something new, she explained what she thought would look good, and that sounded good to me as well. Well my hair came out fantastic; it looks better than it has in like 8 years. Salon has upgraded majorly in technology as far as booking and completing payment, etc, super easy and quick now. I will keep going because of these two! It's also a very nice atmosphere. All the people there were great, and the decor was really nice, too. My family asked if I colored my hair, which I did not, just because it looked so amazing. The way the cut hits the light brings out a multidimensional shine. Karson used really advanced techniques and did not settle for the easy route when I asked for cut recommendations. She put a lot of work and careful precision into the cut, and it looks awesome. I've been to Melissa a couple of times on my journey to dyeing my hair blonde, and each visit has been consistently fantastic. Melissa is truly great at what she does. One thing that sets her apart is the attention she gives at the hair wash station. As someone with a tendency for a dry scalp, I appreciate the extra care she takes, leaving me feeling fresh and my hair healthy after every salon visit. Highly recommend her! read more

Legitimately ill with how much I spent today at this place. Online it says a balayage costs $85-$110, somehow I ended up paying $300+ and I'm not happy with my hair at all. I specifically said no red, and that I wanted caramel tones and I come home and both my dad and husband say "oh you colored your hair red". It is a trashy brassy color at best. I was told the balayage was $150 plus an additional $60 in some add ons that I was told I "had" to get with the service. On top of that- I got the worst manicure of my life. It looks like a 10 year old painted my nails (picture attached). Thanks soleil for COMPLETELY ripping me off. Save yourself the trouble and go to any number of the better salons in the area. Overbooked, sloppy, hectic, & bad customer service. We have been going here for over a year, because it was the closest Aveda salon, but I give up. They are constantly over booked, which has forced us to wait sometimes 30-45 minutes after our appointment time. I typically only see the owner, but her focus is everywhere & she has become very sloppy. Every time I leave I have die all over my face. I have asked politely several times to make sure I don't leave with die on my face and each time everywhere... Incl. my cheek, nose, neck, ears, etc. The last time I got my hair done before a big event I was speaking at out of the country the owner was gone, but swore her replacement would be a perfect fit. Well over two weeks later I am still dripping red die all over my clothes, towels, pillowcases, & rugs. As a regular customer I called when I got back in the country, assuming they would fix me right up, but still weeks later no apology, call, email, etc. from anyone at the salon. I am currently sitting in a different nice relaxed Aveda salon down in Boston, where I used to go before moving to New Hampshire. Well worth the drive. And without me saying a word he wiped all the die from around my hairline prior to leaving my color to set & without fail again while washing my hair. :) relaxing, cared for bliss... Never back to Soleil. :( read more

I made appointments for two days before my son's wedding. Day #1 we had manicure and pedicures with my daughter and her boyfriend. We had Ellen, Teresa and Alicia. It was fun, conversant and pleasant services. Excellent time. Day #2 I went to get hair and Makeup for the Wedding, luckily I had Michelle do my services! I loved my hair (and try to copy it but do not have her brush technique down). also my make up was great! I fwlt very comfortable cause my goal was to look like myself. Joseph is awesome!!!! The incessant talking and laughing from the bridal party in the other room was unacceptable. I am a regular customer, who pays $120 for every massage. Joseph did his best to mask the noise, but it was just too loud. It was certainly not a massage that offered stress relief. Thank you Joseph for doing a great job! I should have known this place would be a disaster when I made the appointment. The girl who scheduled my appointment could barely speak English and gave me wrong pricing. But here is a lowdown on the other more important details: The salon itself- tacky tacky tacky. It comes across as trying wayy too hard. It looks like pier 1 imports and punky brewster puked. Mix matched neon colors, crazy patterns, just awful. I am all for eclectic design, but it must be put together in a way so that the pieces are bold yet complement each other.. This salon failed to do that. It just looks cheap. Or like whoever designed it ran out of money. The hairdresser- I saw Sasha. She was late. I was her first appontment of the day and she arrived 15 minutes late. No apology or excuse or anything. She also looked like a mess. Completely unkempt and had disheveled hair. If you work in the business of making others beautiful then you better look the part! Her eye makeup reminded me of something a drag queen would wear. It was hard to take her seriously. Most of the other hairdressers in the salon seemed more put together, so I really think it was just Sasha looking like a train wreck. Her overall demeanor was rude and she interrupted me a lot. She also did not listen to very specifc instructions I gave on how I wanted my hair cut. I even brought a picture to show her. When she asked if I liked it, I told her "No" and then showed her the picture and told her it looked nothing like my hair. She did not even apologize! Oh and don't get me started on how she washed my hair!!! Good Lord I thought she was going to kill me! First she yanked her fingers through my hair so hard I screamed! Then she had the water soo boiling hot I asked her to turn it down and then she did this massage on my scalp so hard that it felt like she was purposely trying to be rough. There is no way on Earth she thought that was enjoyable!! She then continued to yank my hair while blow drying it and I asked her to stop. She said "I am rough when I blow dry hair".. Ummm what?!? The checkout- No one ever informed me that they do not allow for tips to be added to a credit card, and so I wasn't prepared to bring cash. BUT more importantly- after that debacle (they agreed to allow me to add a tip to my card), THEY LOST MY COAT!!!! They do not have any kind of system to keep track of who's coat belongs to who's.. So they let their staff hand my $300 coat to someone else. Bottom line- do not go here!! Place is a joke read more

I heard good things about this salon so when my daughter asked me where I wanted to go for a pedicure I said soleil. WORST experience in my life. They kept me waiting for 40 minutes without an explanation and when I asked what was taking so long the only explanation was any minute now. When I asked for a refund on my gift certificate they told me it was not theit pilots refund and I told to spend my gift card on their products. Loveeeee this place!!! Don't let the bad reviews change your mind. I found this place by looking here on yelp. I was very nervous of getting my hair done, I find it so hard to find someone that actually knows what they are doing. This place is awesome! I walked in with a picture of what I wanted to get done and at the front desk they were able to tell me roughly how much it would be, they were able to see me right away. They took my coat and offered me some yummy tea! I was introduced to my hairstylist her name is Emily. She was very sweet and nice and paid full attention to me. She asked the right questions and got right to work. From the moment I walked in I felt like I was in the right place, very relaxing. I got balayage done with a trim and I loved the results!!!! Their products are amazing! I would definitely recommend this salon! I will deft be back! Already have another appointment set up. Thank you Emily for doing such an amazing job! Went here after my usual spa was all booked up for what I was looking for. I got a pedicure with Claribel, and she is fantastic! Very knowledgeable and does a great job! My friend got a pedicure, and their nails looked great! On the flip side, I noticed that the place is not super organized with their clientele etc. When I came in, there seem to be a few other people hanging around waiting for services or ready to pay out and everything was confusing. All in all, it went well for me, and I would go here again if my prime spa is not available. Parking is kind of hidden around the other side of the house structure (shared with another business there). Oh, and the place is right off of rt 111... and not clearly labeled ... so be attentive when trying to find the place! I think this place got best of nh a couple or few times ... ok! time to stop adoring my toe nails hehehe ... it's painted toe season! read more

I am new to the area and have had trouble finding a good salon. I used to go to an Aveda salon back in NY so I knew I liked the product. I got Hollis as my stylist. She was great! She listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered! We even set out a plan for what we can do for my next visit to go darker! I will definitely be back! Two small reasons why I didn't give 5 stars. First, they don't let you tip on a credit card. That's fine, but I feel they should tell new clients on the phone. I had to leave to go to an ATM down the street and it was a pain to get to with all the construction going on! Second, when you get there, you fill out a little paper asking if you want to add some services and also to pick a complimentary treatment for new clients (hand massage, scalp, etc). I picked scalp and shoulder massage but never got it :( read more

I have been going to this salon on and off for many years, for hair services and spa treatments. Today I went with my daughter for a massage and it was a horrible customer experience. When I booked the appointment they were running a special for a exfoliation and mask, I was told it would be included in my massage appointment booked a couple of weeks away. I called to confirm our appointment and the inclusion of the special, I was told it was all set. Upon our arrival there was a lot of confusion around the exfoliation and mask that were part of the special being offered when I booked the appointment. My daughter was given a mini facial instead of the exfoliation and mask special and I was then charged for the mini facial at check out. The owner came over and was extremely rude and offensive. She refused to look me in the eye, told me the special was only good for the day it ran and that I should have read the "fine print". She continued to argue with me and said I could write a yelp review and did not care that I was a returning customer. I asked her stop arguing with me but she would not stop stating that I should have read the fine print. I should not have had to read the fine print, it should have been explained to me when I made the appointment. In the end she did remove the charge but it was a terrible experience. I will not be returning to this spa, nor will I continue to recommend it to family and friends. I have seen a major decline in the quality of services offered. read more

I haven't had the opportunity to experience this salon. I've called multiple times to make an appointment and every time they are too busy to let me make an appointment. On the one hand it's a good sign that they are always so busy but on the other don't they have a designated receptionist or want new clients? I am a fan of this salon. I recently went on a whim to get my hair done. Sasha was great, and full of good advice. The experience was made even better by the relaxing atmosphere which includes a hot towel on the foreheads, scalp head and neck massage and aromatherapy while you get your hair washed! Very courteous staff, very clean, the products smell great. I don't think the negative reviews I read are in any way representative of a normal client's experience--those people just don't have anything better to complain about. Other salons listen up and take note of Soleil Salon and Spa and follow their example--at my last salon the stylist next to me was always going on and on about her problems in court, her restraining order, swearing etc...this is not the experience your clients are looking for. read more

I was going to a wedding in the area and was looking for a place that did blow-outs for a reasonable price. Based on my research and reviews, I was chose Soleil. My hair turned out fabulous. Looked great, straight with curls toward the bottom. It last long and was a hit. If I were just reviewing the hair, it would be 5/5! However, the lady who did my hair was not pleasant. I've never had a hair dresser who gave an unfriendly vibe until now. There was also another girl helping and she kept telling her she was doing the curls wrong and acted annoyed when she actually had to show her the right way...I thought it looked great either way done! I feel as though when I revealed I was from out of town they didn't bother getting to know me because they'd figure they wouldn't see me again. After the cold shoulder I don't really feel welcome to if I'm in the area. It was like when I tried to talk about what I wanted,the stylist looked like she could care less. So all in all it was good hair and customer service was good up until I sat in the chair. Secretaries were great, but the hairdresser's attitude was not friendly and if I returned I would request someone else. read more

Scheduled a Sat. morning 1/2 hr upper back massage. I told the girl on the phone I had never been to their location before, she was very friendly and they had a lot of openings for appointments. I arrived 5 min. early, masseuse 10 min. late...and it was a man. I feel like they should've asked if I'd prefer a man or woman when they scheduled me. May not bother others but it was an unexpected surprise to me. I've had the same targeted massage @ 2 different spas prior. The first thing he mentioned to me was a breast/pectoral massage which I have never ever been told of before. I'm not saying it's not a legit technique, but for that to be mentioned to a first time client, thought that was unusual and I quickly declined. I went for upper back, not chest. I get that everything's connected, but really? Asking a first time client about the option to expose her breasts for massage? Little strange. Targeted upper back massage was great but not knowing it was going to be a man, and his mention of a breast/pectoral massage just turned me off entirely to return. read more

Went here for a pedicure and have never been so disappointed. First off I had expected a comfy chair and warm foot bath and instead you sit in way to worn out wicker chairs and dip your feet in a metal bucket they fill with a pitcher. Jan did my pedicure and put very little effort into it. The worst part was the paint job. Huge globs of polish and large areas of no polish at all. I hate complaining so when I mentioned the empty spots she actually argued with me. I was so disappointed to spend that much money for what looks like a 4 yr old did my nails. This spa is wonderful. Not the most peaceful I've seen, but still nice atmosphere... Plus their Avedo tea is amazing. The prices are about average for spa services, and we were even lucky enough to find a groupon! The employees were excellent, very attentive and eager to please, almost to a fault. I wish they hadn't given me the hard sell to buy their products the whole time though, it really took away from the experience as I felt I was making purchasing decisions the whole time. As a bonus, they also have great costume jewelry on sale, for very reasonable prices. I got a beautiful ring for only $10! read more

I love Sasha! She took me from at home box black and pink to a gorgeous caramel blond. She took her time and got my hair to look fabulous! Sasha recommended great Aveda products to help my hair with the damage and breakage issues (self induced, mind you). She was super informative and told me each step that we were doing to my hair and what the possible outcomes with the pink. She was very kind and professional.
