I cannot say enough about Melanie or Advanced Hair. This is my second time having hair extensions put in by Melanie. The service was phenomenal. I have had extensions in the past and none of them stayed in for the entire 8 weeks. I could have possibly gone another few weeks. That's how well they were placed! Also, because I have had the extensions in for so long, it was amazing that she took them out and then washed my own hair and massaged my scalp. Melanie is truly brilliant. She understood exactly what I wanted. Pricing was the best I have encountered for this service, especially given the fact that she spent so much time with me and ensuring the appointment was booked with an adequate amount of time. I've had appointments here for haircuts and nails. Always acceptable usually exceptional. Expect to wait 5 to 10 minutes for your hairdresser to finish up with her current client. My only negative is how hard they push you to buy products. I don't need to be pressured to buy overpriced brand name products. Haircut and nail fill prices are comparable to any in town. read more

Super responsive on Yelp and got me in right away. Prices are good, I have super long hair and they did wash cut blow dry for $35. The haircut came out very good, they know how to cut extensions which can be hard to find. I would go back. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Sarah on transforming my hair and she was absolutely AMAZING! She was so friendly and personable throughout my entire appointment. However, the owner has a complete attitude and gave off really bad vibes, stomping around behind the stylists moving things and cleaning up their stations while they still had clients in the chair! I understand that you want to keep things looking nicely but there is no reason to micromanage your staff while they're in the middle of an appointment, that's how you lose really great talent from a management standpoint. I wish I remembered their names but one helped ease my two year old nerves! And was so fast and patient with him. And the other stylist made my four year old girl feel like a princess! Advanced Hair was always the salon I went to for hair cuts and hair styling while i was growing up. It has been several years since I've gone in but today, on a whim, I decided to drop in and get a hair cut. In the past, I always felt like an inconvenience for all of the stylists that were working. There is no friendly banter. Today, Amanda was the stylist that cut my hair. She was rough and careless, rushed through the shampoo and cut. Combined, it probably took about 7 minutes all together. At which point, she began to rush me out of her chair.... with my hair wet. I had to request that she blew it dry. All three hair dressers at the station were blow drying and blew a fuse. She yanked at my hair with the straightener and was just generally irritated that she was cutting my hair. I've never had a particularly positive experience at Advanced Hair... but today took the cake. I will never go back and am strongly considering disputing the payment of $42 just for the principle. read more

Went there yesterday for an eyebrow wax and top lip wax and it was the worse wax service/job I have ever received. I will never go back again. First off I had wax all over me, the girl didn't tweezers after to clean up any little hairs she missed, asked if I wanted cooling gel and never showed me my eyebrows when she was done. As I was checking out the receptionist asked if I wanted any product, really I just got a wax done. I guess I will just continue going to the high end places I go to where they actually know what there doing. read more

This place is AMAZING! Do not let the exterior fool you ! I can not say enough good things about this salon . I had a terrible haircut/ color job elsewhere, tried to live with it for months, and just could not . I decided I needed extensions, and a color change . I drove over an hour for a complimentary consult on a Saturday morning, and they immediately made me feel at ease . They made a clear, concise plan, gave me an estimate of cost , and even squeezed me in to do some conditioning that day . They did that even though they were super busy; helping their scheduled clients first , but absolutely still attending to me and my freak out !! I returned a week later for my extensions, and color , which is a very long process. They treated me like a princess and completely transformed me. Everyone from the upper level stylists to some younger, newer staff, made me feel right at home for the 6 hours I was there. Danielle C and Vicki worked amazing color magic on me( and I'm red, so it's not easy) and matched my extensions perfectly. Danielle methodically placed each and every strand with perfection! So much so, that my coworkers forgot I had short hair Friday , it took them a good 20 minutes to say OMG you got extensions.. they are SO natural!!!.... ( I had long hair previous to the short haircut) btw, I watched each and every person give amazing cuts, and color, you can not go wrong with any of them ! I will be driving over an hour for touch ups almost monthly , and I don't even care ! I finally have found a salon that does beautiful work , and cares about their clientele. Advanced Hair is a great, quality salon. They have been so good to my mom and I over the years. It's not the fanciest salon in the world, but it doesn't need to be. The employees there really care about how we feel and will work with us to find the best color/ cut combinations. Also, this is the only place to buy affordable OPI nail polish. I've also been coming here to get my eyebrows waxed for years and the price has never changed which keeps me coming back. Some salons charge ridiculous amounts of money for an eyebrow wax. I came here because my appointment at a different salon got cancelled and they were able to take me asap. Thank you so much to everyone there! I will definitely keep coming back. read more

I went to Advanced Hair Ect on a Monday as my regular hair salon was closed and I had very limited availability so I thought I would give this local place a shot. I went in for color and highlights and I got Danielle. Danielle was very rough, and seemed upset that she had a client. She pulled my hair so roughly throughout the entire time that I probably would have left right in the middle of the appointment if I was not there because of a funeral the next day. She also left me under the dryer for an extended amount of time. I should have known this was a bad choice - the receptionist seemed overwhelmed and stressed and when I first sat at Danielle's station I noticed it was not cleaned well after previous clients, there was left over hair all over her work area.
