Is there a rating higher than 5/5 stars? Because they earned it. (Not exaggerating even a little.)…read more These ladies are amazing! I hired them for my wedding and lets start with the fact that they'll do a trial with you before signing a contract and putting down a deposit; something that's becoming increasingly rare all of a sudden. The trial turned out amazingly!!! I felt like the prettiest version of myself possible! And the best part was, after a couple of minor tweaks, it was even better on the actual day! I hired them to do hair and makeup for me, my mother, and my 4 bridesmaids and every single one of them felt the same way. The stylists were super professional, so sweet, and so careful to make sure we were getting what we wanted and were pleased with the results! Every single one of my girls said how happy they were with how they looked and felt and how good a job these guys did. We all have different facial structures and coloring and hair textures and lengths and they did such an amazing job with everyone. Not to mention how well it all stayed!!! We started hair and makeup at 9AM and the day wasn't over until almost 10:30 PM. Every single one of us looked as fresh at the end of the night as we did when they first finished. And that's despite wind, girls diving under the wedding dress skirt (these things are intense to get into/out of), vigorous dancing, etc. No one had to touch up fly aways, or add in pins later or wipe off sagging eye liner--nothing. (And I at least always have issues with makeup staying on well. Not a single issue this time!) I don't know what they did, or how they did it, but these women are magic. Go to them. Seriously, you will be the absolute 100% opposite of disappointed. Definitely my favorite vendor out of the entire wedding. At some point I'm finding an excuse to go back to them just so I can feel that pretty again.

OMG okay so listen up!!…read more I just had like the best experience EVER at The Hair Barn with Aleah P. and I'm literally still glowing. No seriously--my skin is glowing, my lashes are poppin', and my soul is at peace lol. First off, Aleah is SO sweet and chill. I was a little nervous at first because I've never had a facial before, but she made me feel so comfy and explained everything. The facial was --my skin feels crazy soft, and it smells amazing. I already took like 12 selfies THEN she did a lash tint + curl and I swear I don't even need mascara anymore?? Like my lashes are lifted and dark and I'm obsessed. I look wide awake and cute without even trying AND THEN (yes there's more lol) she gave me a scalp massage that had me legit MELTING into the chair. It was heaven. I could've stayed there all day. Bottom line: Aleah is a QUEEN, The Hair Barn is a whole vibe, and I'm already planning my next appointment. If you want to feel like the prettiest, most relaxed version of yourself--GO. SEE. HER. 10/10 highly recommend!!!

Then 3 hours later, I get an email stating my appointment has been rescheduled for same day at 11 am. I tried to call the salon to figure out why the change occurred, and there was no answer. The voicemail said a text was better and you'd receive a quicker response, so I did that. But, no response. A little while later, I tried calling again and there was still no answer, so I left a voicemail this time and followed up on my text message. Still no response. I even called a third time, but to no avail. I figured I would still show up to my appointment at the originally scheduled 1:30 time, since they're open 9-5. When I arrived, the door was locked and no one was inside. I called again but obviously no one answered the phone. I even checked all social media platforms to see if possibly they closed for personal reasons or anything stating why no one was answering my call and no one was in the salon. Needless to say, there was no information provided on what was going on. I just wanted a simple, quick trim and was excited to try this place out since I just moved to the area and needed a new salon, and the reviews were great. But after this experience, I can't understand why or what happened. I will not be coming back here, I'm so disappointed.

She's a real vibrant lady, with a great sense of humor and die hard supporter of her beloved New England Patriots football team. Trish does a good cut, even on my odd curly hair with a funky growth pattern and nasty cowlick at the back, but is an awesome colorist! I decided it was time to stop being a hair color virgin. (Conveniently forgetting that time I went box color strawberry blonde in the 90s.) Even though I'm medium range blonde, it was getting darker as I got older and the greys were becoming ever more obvious. Ah Vanity, thy name is Dee. Trish did an all over color that was really close to my lighter blonde days and a lighter halo effect (peanut gallery can stop sniggering now, thank you) around the hair line, to blend in the grey well. I got so many compliments on it, felt wonderful. As does the scalp massage during the shampoo. Now we are doing high and low level foils instead for a little different effect. The foils last longer too, so only need to touch them up every second visit, not the same ugly dark root growth to worry about. She keeps detailed notes about each visit on cut, color(s) used, and styling. If something isn't quite right after, and scissor shock has worn off (takes several days for my curl to sort itself out) I just give her a call or text and she is lovely about squeezing me in for a quick tweak. It's only happened two or three times in all these years. There are several other stylists working there, but each sets their own hours. Sometimes they're able to accommodate walk ins if one of the girls isn't fully booked. It's not a big salon by any means, but it's very clean and organized, beautifully decorated with trompe l'oeil wall paintings and stylish seasonal/holiday decorations are changed all the time. Very classy.

Turns out they didn't specify what time everyone's appointments would start so there was confusion. She did an OK job but not worth what we paid for it and communication was AWFUL.
