Southern Artisan Spirits is definitely a cute place, and I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately it was just a no for me. The outdoor area is beautiful, especially with the views toward Crowders Mountain, and the atmosphere itself is really nice. Our server was also very friendly and the staff was great. That being said, I found the menu to be pretty limited and on the pricier side. I ordered the Caesar salad for $16, and honestly, I was really disappointed with the portion. It was more like the size of a side salad than what I expected for $16. Unfortunately, the food overall just wasn't very impressive to me, and I didn't feel like the quality matched the prices. I can't really speak on the cocktails since I didn't try any, so maybe that's where this place shines. But based on the food alone, I just don't think it's somewhere I'd go back to. It's a pretty setting with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, but unfortunately the food and value just weren't there for me. Beautiful view. Space is child friendly with many wild roaming and better behaved dogs here too. Interesting, they are running out of their rye. Wish they ran out of the oil they dumped on my soup to ruin it. Told when asked I did not like it, not interested it was just a question tossed at us. The coleslaw was a mysterious color and flavor in the tiniest little baby cup. Fries were oily and limp over cooked heavily salted yuck. Ribs were meaty extra smokey fall off the bone good. Southern Artisan Spirits in Kings Mountain is a bit of a drive, but Queen's Feast gave us an opportunity to check it out. The venue itself is quite spacious, featuring bar seating, indoor tables, and a patio area. Plenty of room to spread out and settle in. We started with a couple of cocktails, which were refreshing and nicely executed, which was an enjoyable start to the evening. For our first course, we ordered the Burrata del Monferrato and the Low Tide Firepot. The clear standout here was the Low Tide Firepot. The sauce was absolutely delicious, so much so that we couldn't get enough of it! While the burrata was pleasant, the firepot stole the show! Next came the Belly of the Beast and Low Country Layers. The Belly of the Beast had potential, but the grit cake paired with it was disappointing. It was soggy and lacking the robust flavor we were expecting. The Low Country Layers was just okay and felt like it needed something extra. We ended up adding some of the leftover firepot sauce, and that instantly made it much better. Maybe we just really loved that sauce! For the final dessert course, we tried the Chocolate Surprise and Peach Madness. No competition, the Chocolate Surprise was excellent and easily the best dessert of the two. Unfortunately, the Peach Madness missed the mark. The "puff pastry" was more of a thin pastry sheet that absorbed all the juices from the dessert, leaving it lacking texture and balance. Our server was friendly and attentive, and overall the service was quite good. However, one uncomfortable moment stood out. The manager came out and snapped at our server in front of us. That kind of correction should really be handled privately. It left a sour note in an otherwise pleasant evening. We even mentioned something to our server about it. All in all, Southern Artisan Spirits has some strong offerings. If I'm back in the area, I might stop by again but it's not a place I'd rush back to. read more

I was not impressed with the food. I order a Brisket Sandwich, and I had more fat than meat on it. I did not complain, just did not eat much of it. Also, the bake potatoes must had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. The bake potato skin was crusty hard, and the potato was very dried on the inside. The service very poor and they gave the wrong cooked steaks to people at our table. Not a good night in the kitchen. read more

This is a pleasant and surprising food venue in a very unique setting. Not looking like much more than a warehouse from the highway, when you drive to the back it opens to a beautiful vista sharing the sprires of crowder mtn. The outside patio seats a plenty and inside it doesn't begin to represent the delicious menu and wonderfully prepared food. The staff are engaging and attentive. We had a 12:30 reservation. We were sat at 1:00, ordered appetizers. They took quite a while, two in our party ordered the bottomless mimosas. We had to chase our server down to get refills on any of our drinks. We never received any entrees. They were completely overwhelmed. While this was mother's Day weekend, the staff was not up to the challenge. As for the food, I couldn't tell you because we did not get to eat. We wound up going into Gastonia to get dinner for the mothers in our group as we could not get it here, there were only four of us. I do hope they can improve their service and their kitchen staff to at least get meals to the tables read more

The management finally came to our table making excuses and said yall can leave if you want to. Two men were there i assume were upper management or co-owners and they refused to come to our table to discuss some time of discount on our bill. The food finally came mine was over cooked, with no home fries and several other types of food had too much grease. This establish ruined my Mothers Day!! I know 9 people that will never go back. The two men I speak of should be ashamed . I will continue to tell everyone I know want a terrible experience I had. We had dinner there Saturday Dec 13. They literally brought our food out one plate at a time. We all ordered mash potatoes and ask for them loaded they wanted to charge us 3.00 up charge. Needless to say we all went with just cheese which was a 1.00 . Our steaks were flavorless and all were tough considering half of them were medium to rare . We arrived at 6:00 pm and didn't start receiving our plate till well after 7pm . The chairs/stools are incredibly uncomfortable for the length of time we had to sit there. Also our waitress bad mouth the kitchen every time she came to our table. Rightfully so kitchen staff could not have been on their game at all. Waitress even came to tell us the dish washer got mad and quit during the shift . The actual food itself was mediocre. We won't go back for a 2nd time for sure! I've visited twice. The first time was amazing. Sat at the bar and ordered drinks and appetizers and the place was packed. The food was excellent and so was the service! The second trip we went for the prime rib but they were sold out (Also the mashed potatoes). The service wasn't great. We were immediately seated but waited 20 or more minutes for our drinks and an hour for our food and the place wasn't even close to half full. I will say that the food, again, was excellent. The filet and collard greens were probably one of the best I've ever had. It's definitely worth a visit because anywhere can have an off night. I will definitely be back! read more

Service was slow despite not being busy. It took 45 minutes to get our food. The expensive steaks were undercooked and the sides were barely warm. The manager took the steak back to the kitchen and then we were forgotten. We had to go find the waitress after 30 minutes... we paid the overpriced bill and there was no properly cooked steak, no apology or reduction on the bill. $160.00 for two small steaks and a sandwich, no alcohol, only water.....we will never go back! read more

The food is subpar, the spirits are first rate. Their house made gins are very good. I have only been there twice, but the food I had was not that good. 1. Prime Rib was weird,...smoked not cooked,...it was like eating a raw piece of meat,....tough, chewy and no flavor except smoke and salt, would not order again. 2. Have never seen chicken skins as an appatizer,...a huge bowl of chicken fried chicken skins,..flavor was OK, but not something I would order again. 3. Smash burger was not a smash burger,...patty was tough, obviously not fresh made,.. burger had wayyyy too many onions. Fries were stale and barely warm. 4. Smoked wings were on point,...only food item I liked. Parmesan garlic with ranch. 5. Their collard greens are supposed to be the best around. Not for me,..they are sweet. Collards are not supposed to be sweet,...they are supposed to be savory with that funky/smokey collardly taste. If you want real collards, take a drive to the Smoke Pit in Gastonia,...they are doing collards right. read more

While the service is nice, the way this place is run makes zero sense, I don't drink but the bar seems like the whole reason people come here, I came here for breakfast with four people, we ordered two waffles, a biscuit, eggs and sausage and a waffle taco we got one waffle about 20 minutes after we ordered and didn't get the other one until 15 minutes later and five minutes after that we got the rest of our food, I asked for jelly for my biscuit and they didn't have any!?!?
