    a food truck menu

I have had a good time the two times I have been there. This is a nice place with a nice outdoor sitting area. They have a resident food truck that prepares wraps (great wraps). Regarding the drinks, the old fashioned was really good. We also ordered a Mojito which was good but not what I was expecting for a Mojito. The bar tenders were very helpful and accommodating. You need to visit this place and have a couple of drinks.

Have been waiting to try it here for months! It's a small place inside and hard to get i to the parking lot from 51 but so cute and employees were friendly! We did a tasting, which was free and he was great about explaining the process and all about oak lore! They serve cocktails for purchase, slushies- with or without liquor and some snacks like local pimiento cheese. They also have beer and cider and seltzer for sale i a cooler in cans! Great spot, just hard to park and get into!! Also, seating outdoors is plentiful and a few tables in the loft upstairs inside :)

Saturday afternoon with a whiskey flight. 2 bourbons & a rye
    Eddie F.

I got the whiskey flight (2 bourbons & a rye). She got the gin & tonic with a few snacks. For me all 3 were nice but I favored the amber wheat bourbon and the rye, which is 70% rye but you wouldn't know it. The wife enjoyed the citrus in the gin. Purchased a bottle each of the bourbon and rye, which I found to be a bit pricey for a 4 year old whiskey. That said, we will be back.

Small but cozy feeling inside. Did not try a neat bourbon so cannot speak to the pure quality of the spirits but had an old fashioned that was well prepared. You can see part of their menu on the pictures attached. Does not look like they are distilling and aging on premises, but we are told they prepare the grains and mash and send out to process. I think they are planning on expanding at some point to do all in-house. They have a shop with a lot of brand items as well. You can keep the little plastic/reusable tumbler cups you get served on which is cool. A lot of potential and good start for sure so hoping they get to continue developing and expanding as this area can definitely use something other than a brewery.

Oaklore is a nice cozy spot to hangout with friends and family. They have a bucket of games upstairs and a great outdoor space with a fire place. They have a yummy Old fashioned. You can even get the old fashioned smoked. I have bought a few bottles of bourbon and rye and they are looking great on my bar. Keep up the good work!

This is what I got that was $12 . A whisky neat. Never again...

The business is super new! If they continue as is, meaning when I went there for the first an last time, of the opening, it won't be open long. They give you tasters of the vodka and whiskey. Maybe in a 1oz shot cup you will get a half of that. (Example) Well the vodka taste like the really really cheap vodka it burned going down... I had (3) different Kentucky Whiskey's, they were all mediocre. So I decided to support this business by ordering a few drinks , all Whisky. A Whiskey Neat, Ginger, and a sour. Three Whiskeys later still I left there feeling like I came, (Sober) The neat was the first one . The shot barely covered the bottom of the glass, the Sour was so sour it over powered any whisky that May have been in it? Honestly believe she only put a splash in whisky in it.. the Ginger was the same... My tab was over $40 so me and my co-worker started to add up our tabs and we believe we were charged for the samples.$1. I had 3 $12 watered down whisky drinks and the sample shots I thought were free, only because, I didn't ask for them. Had I been asked to sample I would have asked first and said Sure , only if they are free...If you go to the establishment ask first about the samples. Also watch her(if you get the girl that works there) pour the liquor. She's only pouring the bare minimum...

Grandfather Doodle Sasser was the pioneer moonshiner and they made the business "legal". The GOAT Whiskey was superb. Tried it straight up, then with margarita mix- wow! Delicious. Next up, the REAPER. Hold onto your seat folks. As per our tour guide; 1 reaper pepper is used to make 60 bottles (if i'm quoting her correctly) so that gives you a hint how far that pepper goes and the heat it brings with it. Tried it straight up and definitely reminiscent of a night of spicy Mexican or Indian food... but wait! Next up was the Bloody Mary made with the Reaper and man! Sign me up. Dad bought a bottle for $29.95, big brother snatched up the last of the 1oz bottles for $1.95 to bring back west and I scooped up a couple tees for $5.00 each. What a steal and what a great family. Business has been around almost 2 years and during the height of the pandemic, they moved into the hand sanitizer business; shipping a ton to our women and men overseas/middle east. This distillery is breaking ground and needs to be in EVERY liquor store, and soon! Can't wait to come back, but in the meanwhile... follow them on facebook: @goatwhiskey, online at goatwhiskey.net and I will be flaunting my tee shirt back on Long Island.

A quick phone call got us directions to their new location in Stallings. We got a quick tour of their facility, they were still in the "move-in" stage but you can already feel that they will be a VERY popular spot once they have time to settle in. We bought a bottle after some delicious sampling and even got a tee shirt for just $5. Now that's a bargain!

The small sitting area also houses their original small still they currently produce their gin in. Pretty cool piece of history. So about the juice...They're really got some good stuff. You can do a curated flight for 10 dollars each pour, you can also do single pours of whatever they have available as well from their core products to the single barrels. I really love what they're doing with the "Story" line where they experiment with different finishes and blends. I'm not a huge rye guy but they are certainly doing it right. That says a lot for me to grab 2 to take home of their rye single barrels..my bartender was so cool and knowledgeable I even grabbed the one he actually picked. Overall 10/10. They're giving the bigger names a definite run for their money. You will not go wrong supporting and drinking local with them. Hands down the best in the charlotte area. They do offer shipping but, you NEED to go in for the full experience and the option to grab distillery exclusive bottles. #Foodierunner approved lol

We had paid in advance and made it just in the nick of time to join our group of about a dozen people. The crowd was a mix of adults and children; personally, I didn't quite understand the presence of kids on a jailhouse and whiskey tour, but the group was ready to dive into the history. The tour kicked off with chilling news of hauntings. Our guide mentioned that the show "Ghost Hunters" had even visited the site, certifying the old jail as haunted--though fortunately by "friendly" spirits. The sensory experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. I generally enjoy the scent of bourbon, and the initial aroma upon entering the distillery is quite pleasant. However, the main room where we spent a significant portion of the tour had a scent that was overwhelming and wholly unpleasant. That said, the content of the tour was good. It provided a well-balanced mix of intriguing historical facts about the prison and the technical side of whiskey making. The kids got restless during the tour and actually started brutally kicking each other in the shins. They each had on shell toed Crocs, so you could hear the crunch of bone and flesh beneath each kick. Their parents let it go on indefinitely. The hour passed quickly and was well worth the $14 adult admission. The tasting at the end is not for the faint of heart. They serve hard liquor, and I do mean HARD. My lips were numbing and my face was next. I had to tap out after the third swig! On the bright side, the gift shop is fantastic. They have the most darling items; we walked away with two tote bags and a delicious pink lemonade drink that will be perfect for sharing with friends this summer. This is a unique, affordable way to spend an hour, provided you can handle the heat and the high proof!

It is a small space in a very hidden location (just follow the signs once you park) and the tour is more informative than anything else. They are so generous with their tastings and everything they make is incredible, but the amaretto is where they shine! Their prices for bottles are also very reasonable and you get to keep the shot glass as a souvenir. Plus, Chris, and especially Rick, are so congenial and you can swap stories with them for hours! We were immediately greeted by one of the owners, Chris. This man has such an amazing story! We learned so much about the spirit making process. You can tell he knows his stuff! He answered all of our questions and went into details on how every machine works. What's even more amazing is that he and his partner self-taught themselves how to do this. Genius. To top it all off, we got to taste their rum, amaretto, and apple pie moonshine. Our favorite was the amaretto, which we bought for $24! We even got two shot glasses. I love how everything is handmade from start to finish. Come and bring your friends - ask questions - you'll come out learning so much (and slightly tipsy) lol.
