Birthday Blackout (5/5 NOMs) Vegan alcohol delight with funfettie cupcake infused with marshmallow whipped vodka topped with vanilla vodka butter cream. Its a whole lot of alcoholic sweetness. It was like tasting cotton candy rainbows! Irish Car Bomb (4/5 NOMs) Guinness chocolate cake infused with Jameson topped with Bailey's butter cream. It was like taking a shot of yummy bailey in a chocolate glass. Its a great day to be an adult and sweets lovers. Bacon Cupcake (5/5 NOMs) Holy mother of bacon!!! Get ready to enter becany pork heaven. Its a very soft and light cupcake filled with jello and bacon flavor goodness. Great mixture of sweet and salty smoky flavors. Its not bacon awesomeness until you stick giant piece of bacon on top. Now, that is a great creation I was super happy to try. This is my favorite bacon cupcake in town. Irish Car Bomb: Chocolate cake perfectly balanced with the moist Jameson center. The bailey's frosting is the sweet compliment bringing out the rich chocolate. Cowboy Coffee: EXTREMELY chocolatey, with a rich dark taste. Hint of espresso goes back and forth with the Jameson. Both have perfect moist centers that taste as if they were lightly soaked in alcohol, and the cake was ACTUALLY BETTER than the frosting (only other place that accomplishes this is The Sweet Lobby). I'm not downing on the frosting, though. It is perfectly complimentary. As of right now they sell them in bars/private events/festivals. But I hope to see a store front in the future.

So glad they still had an impressively wide selection at the end of the festival as many venders ran out. The Giant Peanut Butter Cup is very decadent with rich dark chocolate and creamy peanut butter. Just a couple of bites was more than satisfying and paced myself and able to devour the cup over a few days. The Dark Chocolate Covered Mint Oreo was delicious and my pick over the Dark Chocolate Covered Oreo, which didn't taste that different from a normal Oreo. Of the truffles, the Raspberry and Dark Chocolate Ganache were my favorites. The Hazelnut truffle was fun to try and reminded me of a Ferraro Rocher hazelnut truffles. I miss seeing Capital Candy Jar at the farmer's markets as many have shut down and excited to see them at more festivals and events post pandemic. Looking forward to seeing them again and coming back for more delicious sweet treats!

Lots of unique candies, Washington landmark Oreos, political party Oreos, ice cream and more. I snagged a few things to send my family for Christmas and can't wait for them to receive them!

I really enjoyed my experience at Toki Underground!…read more Toke Underground a small bar and restaurant in the H st corridor which seems to be most well known for its ramen offerings. We got there nice and early on a Friday to enjoy the happy hour which is available from 4-6 on weekdays. As a part of happy hour they had several cocktails and small bites for $10 or less. I had the pumpkin spice spritz and an order of the fried chicken bites - both were really really good. I'd order both items again. For awareness, they limit dining in to about an hour and a half - because the restaurant is fairly small, they want folks to make their seats available for other guests pretty quickly. They weren't rude about enforcing this time limit, but they definitely tell you up front and quickly gather your orders/plates to help move you though the meal quickly. This is a nice date spot - it's coziness would make for the perfect ambiance in you're looking to grab a bite with that special someone. Pro tip: Be careful not to walk past it! The signage outside isn't the best, so it's very easy to miss the door completely (as I did).

Servers are very attentive and come by very often. Must Try: Shrimp Naruto Atmosphere/Setting: very small place with dim lighting. This isn't the place to have your birthday celebration with a Partiful of 20 people. It's moreso catching up with a friend or having a good meal after a long day alone. Food: it's a ramen spot but honestly I've had better ramen but this one is pretty good. I think the appetizers are moreso the star of the show ! Appetizers : Shrimp Naruto (10/10) , Brussels Okonomiyaki (8/10) , Yuzu Rootbeer Wings (6/10) Shrimp Naruto is phenomenal , literally my favorite. I wanted to like to e wings but they were too soft for my liking. If they were fried harder or had a bit more of a crunch I'd rank them higher because the flavor is there. Drinks: both drinks were great !

The last time that I was here I also purchased a case of Polar seltzer water. The line to the self check out area was not so cool, and they only have four self checkout computers. The ambiance is just ok and there is also a Starbucks here which adds to the convenience. The store was clean each time that I've been here. However the area outside of the grocery store appears to be a little dicey. For today's visit I out headed half pound of pasta salad and Utz potatoe chips.

The Safeway is dirty, sometimes has items that don't look fresh and has limited items compared to other Safeway stores. And In order to get your money back, you'll have to go through both the store and the outsourced customer service number from the app. I would suggest another Safeway.

Everything is tastier when it looks good and is bite sized and this my friend is a check, check and a check! The owner elevates tarts into one sophisticated bite using seasonal ingredients and beautiful flourishes like sprinkled covered marshmallows or edible flowers. If sugar ain't your thing you can check out their savory flavors as well -- sweet potato hummus? Yes please! The crust is hearty and the perfect foil to the sweet, sweet insides. Perfect for cocktail parties and they take orders online so you never have to talk to a human person (sorry, I'm an anti social hobbit who just wants to live on tarts). Definitely check this local business out!

Black Pearl recently provided red wine and fruit compote tarts topped with sweet goat cheese and…read morepoached pears for an event I attended. I was stunned. It's actually worth talking about their appearance before I get to the experience of eating them: On the table, their products look elegant--striking without being intrusive or gaudy. They set a great mood. These are some of the best-presenting tarts I've ever seen. I can't vouch for their full line of products, as the only tart on offer was the Mulled Fruit & Goat Cheese, but it was shockingly well-thought-out: Every texture at play in the tart--firm, crumbly shell; jammy compote; smooth sweet cheese; crisp poached pears--kept its distinct profile throughout the evening. Coming to them later in the night didn't result in a soggy crust, limp fruit or runny compote, and the textures recombining in your mouth were a delight. Of course texture doesn't mean much if it isn't backed up by flavor, and so I saved the best for last. As I mentioned above, it's obvious that everything about this dessert was carefully considered, and considered with excellent judgment, at that. Every element was in balance, announcing itself clearly on the tongue without overwhelming the other notes: The mild cookie-ness of the crust, the deep mulled wine in the compote, the sweet tang of the goat cheese--this was a joy to eat. Full disclosure: Black Pearl is operated by Christina Marie. I do know Christina personally--we have a number of close mutual friends, though I don't know her terribly well. I'm writing this review because Black Pearl is a local start-up whose food really impressed me, not as a personal favor to someone I know.
