After all I had only consumed a measly 10 tequila drinks and 12 beers! I thought this was a bar??? Most of the girls here are bar rats but a few diamonds in the rough will appear on occasion. My step son (7) was knocked to the ground by 2 college aged guys who were involved in a shoving match. After being kicked out me and my step son snuck back in at 2AM and bummed cigs from the outside table area on the first floor until security recognized me and physically escorted me off the premises. The bouncers here need to check their egos and grow up!

Also because of this wrap around bar concept, it keeps people flowing in a "lap walking" form. So even though it gets crowded, it doesn't feel that claustrophobic. There is also an outside area in the back. So if you want to get out of the crowded bar, this is usually pretty wide open. Would I frequent 17-16 if it were in my hometown? Probably not. But when I do my once in a blue moon visits and know what I'm getting in to, I can't think of another late night bar in the loveliest village on the plains.

Our server was training tonight but his apprentice was just as knowledgeable and attentive - in fact he helped us with drink selection and ensured we had bottles of water flowing since we were so dehydrated from the day. This is nothing fancy but this is a nice old fashioned bar with lots to do open LATE and late bar bites ( didn't eat but it looked yummy ) There was also a local guy that sang country wore jeans buckle and hat that was great local talent as well.
