They have four courts which exceeds anything I've seen in the city and greatly increases your chances of not having to wait. The courts are well maintained and each one is enclosed so you don't have to worry about going far to get your balls or disturbing other courts. There's plenty of parking right in front of the courts. And the park is open late. Really everything I'm looking for in a spot to play some tennis. If tennis isn't your thing, they also have a basketball court and walking trails. And there was even an ice cream truck making its way around the park the last time I was there.

Be careful after rain, even if it's been a day or two since. The dog park itself is a little lower level than the rest of the park so it floods and stays wet easy. There's plenty of running room for your dogs and there are fire hydrants, poop bags, water fountains/bowls, and benches throughout the gated area. It never seems very crowded, so if you have one dog and would like to socialize them, I'd suggest inviting some friends/family who have dogs to join you! The more the merrier :).

There are plenty of partitions and a pavilion area for events as well as my favorite-a doggie park! Not because I have a dog, but when people bring their furry loved ones to the park they have their own area to run and play-giving walkers and joggers like me some space to exercise. Additionally, this park has a small and big dog park. And not to make anyone confused about the definition of small and big, they put the weight requirement on the signage to each park. You know that this a dog friendly park based on all the doggie doo receptacles all around the park too. Did not spot not a ONE pile of doggie doo on my walk. Thank you dog parents for being kind and not leaving doggie doo behind! For human parents, you can come to this park and not have to worry about bad weather delaying your plans to take your child to the park since the playground area is covered. Many parents even bring chairs and sit around the playground area to watch their children play and protected from some of the elements. If you look closer by the events doorway there is a book depot for people to leave books and take books. I love seeing these in communities because it not only supports the importance of reading but creates a sense of community. For a quick walk before running some errands or to let your kids play (human and furry) this is a nice park to visit anytime of the year.

It wasn't until I got out of my vehicle and stepped on the red trail, walking, seeing so many dedication gardens in every area of the park. Who knew that Friendswood had its own flag to be flown so high next to the Texas and US flags? That is what made me feel that this park was a beauty, and I even thought of my surname park, Wilshire Park in Portland, OR. This park and that park can be compared to each other since both are surrounded by trees shading the path around the perimeter of the green space. Both have spaces for children to play, but Stevenson has added amenities, including the on-site pool, Texas native wildflower garden, splash pad, basketball, and tennis courts. The trail is 1/2 mile long, winding, and semi-narrow; when I am trying to tap into mindfulness, I tend to walk slower than a regular-paced person, and as I was walking, other park-goers were cutting me off to overwalk me and not giving me space when passing me up. I would have liked the path to be a tad wider in width to prevent this from happening. Nonetheless, it's still overall a solid neighborhood park and one would say a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting this place to be what it was and had a prenotion bias that it would have been like Frankie Carter Randolph and 1776 Park (two parks that I don't care for); but I am happy that it wasn't. Huge spacious parking lot with restrooms onsite. I think the artwork is from the same artist who painted bayou birds, natives, and animals at the Lynn Gripon (park in League City, TX) and Exploration Green (park in Clear Lake, Houston, TX), which is pretty cool if they are local to the area. Strawberry Park has it all. Everything!…read more The track is well lit even at night; it's a complete mile all the way around. A gigantic Tennis area, I am always surprised how full that area is. Strawberry Park includes baseball fields that are also well lit in the evenings. They have a Basketball area, and pavilion for hosting private and public events. There is a workout station near the main entrance. They have a fairly new, small and fun waterpark that won't break the bank. Disappointed the volleyball area is gone to make way for the waterpark. They have plenty of room, I hope they find a new area for it, soon. They are plentiful in picnic areas with pits, playground areas for tots, and bigger kiddos. The bathroom area, is a no go zone.

Nice friendly fellow dog owners. Located right along the bayou trail and very convenient for people who live in the area to walk to via the trails. There were about a dozen happy dogs in the small dog area the Sunday afternoon we visited. However for those who drive, the main drawback is the parking lot is very small. If you drive there and can't find a parking spot, the next closest parking lot is *probably* at Bayou Parkland (6532 Almeda Rd) and you'd walk your dogs via the pedestrian trails across the Bill Coats bridge to get here; probably a 10 minute walk. A very nice walk on a spring day but probably not in the middle of summer. Some online reviews elsewhere mention part of the dog park floods after rain events. Apparently some construction work has been done to try and alleviate this. I did not see any water retention as we were there on a sunny day but perhaps future reviewers can comment on this.

I remembered hearing about a dog park nearby and decided to come, only about a 5 minute drive from that exit. There is a dedicated parking lot which is nice, however it is a tad small, comparable to the parallel parking lot at Johnny Steele. There's dog washing stations, water fountains, and a neat water feature for your dogs to cool off. There's lots of grass and space for the small dog park. There is a sign stating only dog shorter than 15 inches allowed for the small dog park. There's two park benches and a concrete semicircle bench for seating. All in all, a great place for you and your dog to relax at.

I've seen rabbits, deers, birds and other small creatures on this trail as I've walked it. I'm still trying to figure out what is the earliest time this park opens--I've got here at 5 am and people are already walking on the park. I guess I need to get here at 4:30 am just to walk. It great to bike ride, walk, power walk, jogging, or running trails. Dogs love it--and I'm not sure if cat lovers walk their cats...that just seems pretty strange. There's nothing like a morning walk that doesn't get you ready for your day ahead!

They also have benches to watch the kids or have a romantical conversation in the moonlight......before ten because that's when the park closes. Opens again at five. You probably don't want to go too late if you are a female by yourself as it is heavily wooded and after dark you got to watch out for serial killers and snakes in the grass. Yes, I have seen a snake before. Yes, I did run as if my feet were on fire. There are also bunnies that come out of the woods. Cute, feral bunnies. Bring a friend or two and get your run, walk, or jog on. Come twice a day if you are about that life.

They have education programs all year along for the kids. Outside, there is a long path to walk/run around. Amazing for when it's cooler outside. There are plenty of wildlife to look for and take pictures of. There is so much to do on the inside! They have little puzzles and activities for the kids to do, that gets rotated around a lot so the kids won't get bored. They added a new gigantic computer screen with matching and finding animal games. There is a small pond of 2 alligators and a few display cases of animals, reptiles, and fish. There is a magnetic board to build birds and a coloring station that turns your artworks into animation! They just added a toddler/baby corner with toys and a toddler size tunnel to crawl through. Overall, what a great place to have in the heart of pearland.
