Ok park. Benches are old and dirty. There is a tarp covered area, water is available and plenty of shade. Nothing for the small dogs to play on in the small dog area. Grass ok, fencing is good. One picnic bench. Not impressed at all but no really nice dog parks in this whole area. I've looked a lot. read more

It's not the park that is the problem, however they need to have someone on standby that removes aggressive animals because my first time coming here my dog was attacked by two huskies, had his cheek but open and was bleeding and apparently (the lady who gave me a napkin to clean him up) told me that she watched it all and my dog didn't do a damn thing, that their dogs previously attacked 3 others before I'd got there. that's not okay. I love dogs but don't bring them around other animals if they're going to act like that, keep them on a leash or take them home. my dog has never been aggressive towards another, he has more friends than I do. read more

Another park in the area with something for everyone: ball fields, picnic areas, a dog park, the start of hike and bike trail, and the put-in for a canoe-kayak trail. Of course, I come here mainly for the paddling trail. This spot provides access to parts of the Texas coastal preserve and Clear Lake. And on top of that it has one of the best boat ramps in the area for kayaks and canoes. Seems like a couple of different rental companies put people in the water here with maps on how to get to the take-out. All goes pretty well as it's a pretty straight forward path to Clear Lake, and the area is marked pretty well. Of course it can be challenging for inexperienced paddlers if caught out in the wider areas when there is a wind blowing. But I really like this area because of the number of options on ways to go. I always put in and take out at the same location when I launch from this park. read more

Beautiful park, great for afternoon walks. They have a fishing pier with Kayak launch ramp. Plenty of kiosks and benches throughout. An updated playground. Splash pad. Dog park - both big and small. As a bonus, you can usually count on seeing turtles, birds, alligators, snakes, and the occasional gar fish during low tide. If you enjoy sunsets, this is the perfect place. read more

First time taking my dogs to the park. The large dog park was big and I love that they had a trail for people to walk on. There's plenty of tables and benches. Not to mention, it's very shaded. Be careful though cause these 2 deep, large mud puddles. This will be my favorite go-to spot to take my dogs. read more

I have wonderful memories of this park from when I was a kid... starting probably 25 years ago in the early 90's. Back then they had metal slides and more old-school playground equipment. I was disappointed to see all of that (or... most of it?) gone when I took my 4-year old recently. But the playground was still pretty good, and he had fun. I was more happy to see the long pier just as I remembered it. Still long and scenic with a lot of great views. I read my son the gator warning sign and he got excited, but alas, we were not rewarded with a gator sighting. It's still a beautiful walk down the pier, and the covered seating areas are a great touch. The park now includes a really big fenced in dog park area, which was cool. LOT of people and a lot of dogs there, yet it didn't look crowded. They really dedicated a huge area to the dog park. Heavily treed with lots of shade, too. Bay Area Park also includes a baseball diamond, a separate fishing pier, some sort of garden area with ponds (I forget its name), and it just spans a nice large area in general. This is a great park with something for everyone. Armand Bayou Nature Preserve next door is also excellent if you want more nature and more hiking plus other options. Alas, we didn't have time to revisit it during this visit to H-Town. (It's more up my alley than the park, but the park is better for most little kids.) read more

I absolutely started to love this dog park thinking it was just perfect for my Jack Russell mix to run around and have fun until other owners began to ruin it. People bring their just born puppies to the dog park to interact with other dogs--that is by far the most silliest thing I've ever seen. Also, they do nothing when their puppy is irritating your dog. That happened to Pocky--he was calmly sniffing the grass and there comes a puppy play biting Pocky, and splashing water on Pocky. Multiple times Pocky tries to ignore the puppy and get away from the puppy, but no the puppy just continues to aggravate my dog. So, I tell the puppy to stop and go play elsewhere. He doesn't he continues the madness. So Pocky has had enough with the BS and attacks the puppy. Then, immediately the puppy's owner run over to incident blaming me for the whole thing. You gotta be kidding me. These owners are plain stupid. First of all, you don't bring a puppy to the dog park. Puppies have a unique scent to them that is very different from dogs. They are vulnerable to be attacked by dogs. Secondly, puppies need to interact with their environment, their owners, and other pets at home not in public. Thirdly, puppies will aggravate dogs just because they can. It's called a dog park not a puppy park. It's meant for mature dogs only not immature puppies. Another thing, I don't like is the fact if you are black and you bring your dog to the park. Other owners assume that you don't take good care of your dog, and that you don't know how to properly handle your dog. I've had owners blatantly stare at me all throughout the park because I wasn't standing right next to my dog or whenever my dog got mad at another dog. One lady, told me that it wasn't normal for my dog to sniff the ground. WTH?! He's a dog that was born in the wild--let him do what he wants. These people are seriously dumb. They stand right under their dogs the whole time they are at the park--I mean what's the point of bringing them to a dog park to interact when you gonna be the one interacting?! Also, the smaller side is tiny. It doesn't give the smaller dogs no where to run. read more

Nice park if you're looking to fish or picnic. There's always families here and large gatherings of people celebrating and having a good time. While a bit lacking in trails, this small park along Armand Bayou is great for those interested in water crafts. The easily accessible launch site is one of the most used near Houston. It's a great access point to the tranquil bayou. Check the water levels or you may make it into a muddy time. The alternative is to use the nearby fishing pier, but it will be to the annoyance of the fishermen there. While kayaking here a few weeks ago, I saw some huge gators along the banks. I had heard about gators being here, but damn... It was very up close and personal. Be careful this time of the year as it's mating and nesting season. Do not bring your dogs with you onto the water! I recommend bringing a picnic lunch, as there are plenty of tables and lots of shade. Very nice little park. read more

This is by far theeeeeee best spot for the littles in the Clearlake/Webster/Space Center area. There's plenty of benches for sitting while the kiddie runs loose. It's normally a shade somewhere while using this park so you don't have to worry too much about staying out of the direct sunlight. There's a huge dog park on the other side. If I had a pooch, we'd be all up in there. If you want to picnic there is definitely areas for it. I love this park. Oh and it's been remixed! All new park activities. You can feed ducks here as well however there is a slight disclaimer. They have personalities regarding their sanctuary. I guess one duck wasn't too happy with our presence in it's space. It started walking towards us and in size comparison, the duck could have easily handled my 4 year in a match(lol). I wasn't going to test it out so we politely took the request to vacate their premises. I guess bread wasn't on their menu at the moment. It's a great park! I can see us using it at least twice a week once the summer rolls around. read more

Bay Area Park - Beautiful - Playgrounds Near Me - Houston, Texas

I like this park. It's pretty big and feels safe when I park there to run by myself. The bathrooms are open though and are usually filled with bugs, but hey when ya gotta go, ya gotta go! The water fountain by the front bathrooms is terrible though; it doesn't come up far enough to fill a water bottle, so make sure you bring extra hydration if you need it. It's on the 9.8 mile running trail that runs around Bay Area Blvd, Red Bluff, Kirby, Nasa Road 1, Space Center, and Middlebrook back to Bay Area Blvd, so it's nice to have a place to stop on the way. There's a dog park too, which looks pretty popular, but I just have cats so I can't comment. There's also a duck pond, and it's on Armand Bayou so there's the possibility of seeing alligators and other wildlife. I've never seen anything but there's always people out there birding and looking at and for wildlife. Plus they kayak and run tours from Armand Bayou here as well. It's really just a stopping point for me on my runs, but it's clean, safe and has everything I need as a stopping point. read more

Duck, Duck, Goose! This is the place that has everything. There are baseball fields and tennis courts for the sports enthusiasts; a huge dog park separated by big and small dogs, with lots of activities for the dogs to run around and play in an enclosed area; docks to sit and relax by the water; many gazebos to enjoy; playground for the kids; area with ducks, swans, and geese to come in close contact and feed. Apparently, there are alligators here too, but I did not see any and was glad. read more

Wonderful local park with lots of features: mature trees playground with lots of well-maintained equipment a garden and atrium area pond with ducks and geese to feed access for kayaking and two baseball fields open to the public!! I spent most of Sunday hogging one of those fields with lots of family and friends playing softball. It was great fun!! When the lil ones got bored, they went to feed the duck, play on the playground, or even just take a walk around the park. The public bathrooms are right acrosss from the fields, so very convenient and not as dirty as you might expect from park bathrooms. read more

I love taking my two dogs here for some socializing. I stick to the small dog section for my Jack Russell / Chihuahua mixes. The park is kept clean, well stocked for bags, easy to use water fountain, and has plenty of covered and uncovered seating. I like the simple double-gate entry/exit set up as well. They also have a wash station for when the girls get muddy. The rest of your experience completely depends on the other owners. Just like with human children, there's a whole variety of doggy parents. My review of the Park is why I rated it 5 stars. If I had to incorporate other participants, well, that would be too complicated. My Warnings: I find it best to simply leave the park if, in my opinion, an owner is not being attentive enough. I am not afraid to push off or keep a dog at bay away from mine if the perpetrator is humping or being aggressive. I always carry an air canister with me to ensure my own dogs' manners, too. There's also a playground right next to the park and some people allow their kids to enter the dog park. While I bring my child with me, she is taught not to touch other dogs without permission... I cannot say the same of other children and at times have had to help save a dog from the clutches of an excited child. If you see me, say "hi" :) I am typically found with my grren hat and have my child with me, too. read more

I love kayaking here! Four stars because the gators scare me. It is really nice and serene though once you are away from them. I like to paddle out to clear lake from here. Makes for a good day trip. Plus you can fill up the cooler with hot dogs and burgers and grill when you get back! What's not awesome about that?! This place also has some nice parks your kids can play at while you are grilling. Sometimes you can even catch a little league or softball game. read more

My cousins and I always bring our dogs out there, a great sized park with a dog washing area. 10/10 recommend

This park is pretty and well maintained. Great nature arenas and playgrounds. There is wildlife, so be careful!

My dog loves this park but there is an owner with a set of two small corgi's that will bark/nip and herd the larger dogs. She won't bring them into the small dog park because they are so aggressive with the small dogs so she lets them harass the larger dogs. It makes it hard for them to even run and enjoy themselves. She formed a circle around herself and gossiped about all of the other owners with dogs like her dogs walked on water. They were terrible and the owner wouldn't take them to the small park. She was very rude and entitled. Ended up having to take my dog to a baseball field to run free and happy. read more

I used to frequently walk the road loop in this park several years ago. There are no trails within the park. Then the dog parks were created which are great for a lot of people and dogs, but the traffic in the park felt hectic! So I started coming in the morning but that GOOSE. I haven't been attacked but if you walk that loop, that goose is threatening. He/she thinks that the portion of road right before bleachers is their turf. I saw other early morning walkers carrying sticks and yelling at them. It is not peaceful at all. I understand that this is a place for animals too, but when there is an animal (and it was the same goose) that is threatening park visitors can someone please consider relocating them? I then moved to walking the trail along Bay Area (because of that goose), but it's loud with cars rushing by and the trail is slanted horribly. Other than a visit every once in awhile with the kids to play in the park, I never come here anymore. read more

Such a beautiful park! You can walk out onto the lake...maybe see a gator. You can watch a baseball game. Take out your kayak or canoe out on the lake. Maybe grill a up a steak, have a get together. Went there for a walk , just loved it. It was great park area! However, stay hydrated it was insanely warm and one bottle of water was not sufficient for this Texas weather. This is the far worst dog park you could bring your dog to. Not only do the dogs get into it also do the owners. I've seen dogs get agitated, because a careless dog owner thinks it's okay to bring a puppy into an dog park. Dog parks are not designed fresh born puppies. Puppies are just bait for dogs.. because of the distinctive odor. Or nincompoops owners think it's "cute" to bring their children into a dog park. What the heck.. a dog park is made for dogs not for children, to chase and play grab butt with the dogs. It's stressful enough to have a child in the park with a puppy. Both babies in the park. The owners are straight cut throats, I've witnessed fights not just from a dog, but from owners who don't give flying F's over people. Most of them join a clique and stand off to the side talking jibber jabber about someone else dog or their own. If when those talks turn "sour", usually over a disagreement it turns into a whole brawl. Forget about the ears of your dogs. Some owners if your dog gets aggravated towards their dog. They will go A-wall on you and your dog. I've seen dogs tossed around as if they are rag dolls not by the owners, but by other unknown owners. "Hey", if your thinking about throwing a dog.. do consider the ground is hard. A real "ghetto" hood dog park, if your looking for one. It's as if the owners don't get out nor does the dog. Like a real outrageous rendezvous. The small dog park is literally small compared to the big dog park. It is huge stretching wide and far. Now, that's not too fair. Don't they think small dogs want to run out in the dusty ground or get lost in the spacious area like the large dogs get to do. Ever thought about that? I'd think twice to bring your dog here. Unless, you got your combat "granny" panties on to wipe any owners out if you have to. Come at your own risk. Overall, the rest of the park is pretty good. Lots of nature and open waters. But the dog park straight hood. read more

A beautiful park, rife with potential adventure. However, the over-saturation of a police presence is both a nuisance and a deterrence. What's more, this park is often either a safe haven for law enforcement to sit and neglect their public duties, wasting tax payer dollars, or an opportune location for them to set up speed traps on Bay Area Blvd. Enjoy the park, but be sure to keep an eye on the police. This is the best park to come to if your looking for a place to take your dogs! My dog absolutely loves coming here to play and run around with others. There's never any dog poop lying around and there's even a small lake area to take photos at. I love coming here with my family and pets just to spend the afternoon. Coming here is so much fun and there's always something to do. read more

We love the dog park here! We have 2 small dogs who know when we are getting close and just get so excited. Often there are lots of other dogs to interact with but sometimes not. Either way, our dogs love it! There is a place outside and between the large & small dog pens where dogs can be rinsed off, there's always been poop bags when we've gone and the path for humans is well-maintained. read more

I took my Senior pictures here & now I take my fur baby here and meet new people and puppies. It is easy access and family friendly. Just watch for the cops if your heading towards Red Bluff!
