Clear lake park is a go to park. Especially for me & my wife! We've been here many times. It's always great to see a plethora of families enjoying themselves on a weekend or week day. Whether it's people fishing, grilling food, kids or adults playing on the playground, people jet skiing, boats driving by it's a great atmosphere, people feeding seagulls, ducks quacking, fish jumping out of the water and a list of other things. A fantastic spot for fishing and spending quality time with children. We're particularly fond of the Lagoon splash pad and can't wait to experience fishing from the pier. The place offers stunning sunset views, along with the spectacle of flying fish and pelicans. The venue provides abundant parking on both sides and a covered dining area for events. Today's my birthday, and I was fortunate to celebrate it here. Get this, though. The party I went to wasn't for me but for a young nephew of a family friend who happened to be born a day after I was. About the park, simply beautiful. If you're on the right side of it, you get a majestic view of its namesake, Clear Lake. Mother Nature was cooperating so visitors were able to see all the way to Kemah to the east. Towering above the green is the Endeavor high rise. It should be noted that you'll be kissed by a slight breeze if you get closer to the lake. Now, the rub. One of the men's rooms lacks doors on their stalls. That said, and forgive me for providing TMI, doing a No. 2 is ill-advised. Overall, Clear Lake Park presents itself as the place to be for picnics, cookouts, festivals, and anything else that's meant to be done outdoors. read more

We were driving by and saw this park and we had to stop and check it out. The kids were cooling off in the water fountains shaped as Dolphins. It was a very clean park which seemed under utilized. Maybe used more on a weekend. There was a large bathroom building next to the fountains. As we drove away we realized it was a section of Clear Lake Park. I had a choice today to take myself to look at some shoes that I wouldn't buy or take my dog, Pocky to Clear Lake park. (Hint: I've been wanting to take him here for the longest) Guess what, I made a smart choice and I took him to the park. He loved it!! We walked along side the shore it was very nice, the breeze felt soooooo good, and my dog couldn't stop smiling. You could tell he was relieved, that he loved it. And I did some deep thinking. Perfect place to relax, and think about things. It was so many people and families there. I felt pretty bad because it was a family oriented park, but I don't have any close family and my mutual family don't care to spend no time with me. But likewise, everybody has a life story. Though, I enjoyed my time with Pocky. He really makes me happy. The shore of where the water was coming up, it was dead fish. Poor fish, I felt bad for them, that they had to die like that. Nice park, about a dozen playgrounds for children, adults, or whoever to play on, plenty places to picnic, a pier, just little parking. They need more parking lots for this large crowd. read more

Such a wonderful place, I grew up around this area but never got to explore it until now. So clean and family oriented. If you're gonna do water sports, there's a number of docks here, to the right under a bridge is calm water but the bridge underpass has low suspension! Sail boat with mast up won't make it! the rest opens to the marina, and waters can be a little rough without something motorized! It's never too crowded, water is clean with food fishing or crabbing out their dinners, just the sweetest sight. read more

The splash pad is nice but there is no fence or barrier between the Lake and the park to keep curious kids (like my highly active grandson) from heading to the water. I spent the entire time chasing him to keep him on land and not in the lake. I felt like there should be something to keep the water loving kids from running into the lake or at least from that drop off. But the park is a great place ... just a suggestion for the higher ups! read more

Not your average walk in the park at Clear Lake Park! Since I have moved to the bay area one of the biggest perks is this family friendly park. It has plenty of seating areas with covers, grills, clean restrooms, plenty of play area, the splash pad and even a public boat ramp. My kids love coming here and I feel comfortable coming here as I read my book while they are running around. Another huge plus is that it is also a fun park for adults to enjoy the outdoors and maybe sneak to the nearest rental place to jet ski. read more

Don't get me wrong this is a nice park right on the water, however, I smell tons of smog from the busy street it's on every single time I come here. No matter how much wind there is, it never seems to vent it all out away from the park. I wouldn't bring my children here. There are plenty of nice parks nearby, notably Nassau Bay Park, that's 2 miles down the street, that has a lot more space and wildlife than this one. And no smog! read more

I've been coming here pretty much daily at lunch to just hang out and chill and get away from the office. As soon as it cools off some I plan on walking around the little track just to get the blood circulating after sitting at my desk all morning. This park has it all! Numerous play areas, a museum (which I plan on checking out sooner rather than later), a dock, lots of parking spaces, tons of shaded benches, bbq pits (although because of the drought they can't be used right now), tennis courts, bathrooms....what doesn't this park have? I'm not sure I can add anything that hasn't been mentioned; they do have a lot of festivals and the like here so it probably can get pretty busy on the weekends, but during the week it's pretty quiet. The new playgrounds are finally done! Take your kids to the splash pad and let them roam around on the 3 huge playgrounds. Super colorful and vibrant. The views are spectacular. Right over the water, you'll get nice breezes in this sweltering heat. I've been here several times over the course of the summer and I've loved it. My daughter wasn't so keen on it before the playgrounds were open, of course. She was convinced the orange mesh blockades were just for decoration and that the structures were, in fact, ready for play. The splash pad features cute dolphins and several little water fountain squirt things. Looked like a lot of fun if I were still miniature size. The bathroom is right next to the splash pad, which does seem a tad gross (sorry for my honesty), but it does provide great shade and sun protection for those weary of the rays and Pokemon GOers. Speaking of Pokemon...Magnemites everywhere, plenty of Magikarps (for your Gyrados, of course, no one wants them protecting gyms). It's a pretty good location for Pokemoners of all sizes and ages (trust me - I've seen them all there - from Pokemon GOers in training [even potty trainging] to Sensei Pokemon GOers). There are 6 Poke Stops and 2 gyms (which get put through the ringer, being taken over by all colors of the rainbow at all hours). There's almost always a lure going, so save yours for a dry day of loneliness...or you can go the route of "sharing is caring." I'm just saying, no matter your need to catch them all, there's someone already there who wants to catch them more. Just trust me. This park has a very nice, relaxing feel and I love it. So do Pokemon. :) read more

A good, functional park right near Clear Lake and Mud Lake on both sides of NASA Parkway. On the land side is mostly baseball/soccer fields with a privately booked pavilion and senior center. Lots of parking over here great for corporate events (at the pavilion) or youth league. A small park is adjacent with some limited playground and picnic area. And a small pier. On the lake side there is a new water play area that always seems crowded in the summer. Very limited parking on that side, also playground equipment and another private pavilion for events. A very large parking lot for boating and public boat ramp is also present. On this side is also a rec center (seems like every week is a pottery/plant show), also a voting center for elections. All in all, a very functional park. As a runner, I wish there were better running areas. Limited parking on lake side and limited functional equipment on the land side kind of limit this park's capability. With the water play area, I could see this as higher ranked by those with kids. Also high with boaters for the launch area. read more

With a free kiddie water park, 3 dry play areas, extensive picnic areas for large groups or just single families, a fishing pier, public boat ramps, ample parking, AND a mostly fenced in play area to contain pets make this is one of the most fun, and free places to take the family for a day in the sun. The public toilet on the far side of the park (away from the kiddie water park, yes there are 2 public toilet areas) could use more attention but for a public facility it wasn't worth reducing to 4 stars. The park itself has ample space for even large dogs to run and roam (leash laws apply) and several picturesque views of the bay. The most important aspect of any park though for a family is the play areas and this park is top notch. The water park is fantastic, just push a rather obvious button on a post and the entire area comes alive with spraying water and gleeful children. Right next to the water park area is a clean public restroom and a dry play area separated in half for school aged kids and preschool aged kids making it perfect for the family with an age range as all of the kids can play and the parents need only one vantage point to see everything. read more

This is a HUGE park for the clear lake area. There are actually two sides, both equally beautiful. However, one side is a lot more parking. You're better off parking on the side with the big circle loop and crossing the street to the other side of the park if you really want to see that side. Both sides has playgrounds and docks for the water. read more

This is an amazing public park in only 3 miles away from NASA! If you have young kids like mine (all under 5) that need to run off some steam after Space Center, this is the place to go! The parking here can be very a bit difficult especially on busy weekends. They posted the sign "lot full" but there were several spots open. We pulled into one, dumped a load of sunscreen, and we were off. This park offers amazing views of Nassau Bay. There are several places where you can camp out, namely a Spanish mission-like picnic shelter. There are at least 3 main playgrounds, all of them well kept and new (Little Tikes Commercial). They boast some new features like a suspended chain where you can pull yourself across, a pirate ship, very steep slides, to a seesaw raft. Some of the other things like the jeep or some of the seesaws are all metal (too hot!) but the playground nearest to the splash pad has some shading. Speaking of the splash pad, my eldest kid absolutely loved it! It's called Dolphin Lagoon and at the end of the park. It boasts dolphin slides, shooters, fountains and more. It also offered shade all around for the parents, which was quite welcome in the afternoon heat. The only thing is that I wished they had proper changing rooms for afterwards. But the Harris County staff does a great job in maintaining bathrooms, but there are no doors to the stalls (?)...so we just changed in the car. Overall, this park is greatly recommended if you are in the area. It promises a great way to spend time with friends and family overlooking the bay! read more

They've added new equipment to this park which is great! While we were there it looked like they were adding another section as there was construction stuff around one area and it was taped off (with a sheriff keeping an eye on it to make sure no one wondered in - we actually heard him get on to some people while we were there so clearly this is a problem lol). The new splash pad is great for the kids, I love free and fun entertainment for the family so it's a nice addition. My one qualm with this park is there's not a whole lot of shade, and not a lot of park benches close to the playground to keep an eye on the kid(s) while they play. read more

This park has been completely redone with all new playground equipment. The 2 play areas are huge and it also has a splash pad for those hot days. The park itself is very clean and well kept. The view over the water is amazing. A great place for large family gatherings or a quick evening trip to let the kids play. read more

We visited the Clear Lake area for a week, and had a chance to hang out at this park 4 times - the place is huge, with numerous play structures for kids. The play areas are "zoned" which is great! There is a tiny tots play structure (ages 2 and under), which is separate from the "big kids" section. So we never felt like our toddlers were going to get run over, and the play structures weren't crowded. There are 4 sets of swings, covered gazebo, picnic tables, barbecue pit area. The best part is that this park is RIGHT on the water! So there is a nice breeze off the lake, plus a great outlook. At dusk the dragonflys come out, which the kids loved. Plenty of parking. And a dock for checking out the jumping fish. read more

This is our second family field trip, in two years, going to Clear Lake Park. I really enjoy this park and my kids love it, too. On a beautiful, but hot Sunday afternoon, there's families from all types of background (love the diversity) having BBQ picnics, fishing, jet skiing, kids playing at the the two big playgrounds and/or splashing around at the "Dolphin Lagoon" splash pad, birthday parties or family reunions,strolling around, walking their pets and lounging out on the grass (you have to beware of pesky sneaky ants, though). There's a nice breeze coming from the lake and the scenery is nice. I can even the the see the ride that takes you to the top and slowly rotate around at Kemah Boardwalk (I can't think of the name). This, indeed, is my most favorite park and the long drive (from the south side of Houston) to get there is worth it. read more

This is a pretty large park located right on Nasa Pkwy. It seems to be split into two segments divided by NASA Pkwy. One side contains the SplashPad, two playgrounds, a long T-shaped fishing pier, multiple benches, covered picnic areas, BBQ pits and gazebos along with a large covered pavilion. Sidewalks create pathways in which to walk the length of the park. The bathrooms are housed in a building right in front of the splash pad aka Dolphin Lagoon. The women's restroom has 4 stalls, 2 sinks and 1 hand dryer. There is no soap so I suppose you'll have to bring your own. There wasn't even any space for soap containers on the sinks and no holes in the walls or anything to indicate there was ever any soap dispensers here. Very odd. The two playgrounds are separated by a large amount of space and indicate eh oh age ranges are appropriate for each age groups. The day we went, both playground areas were blocked off with that orange construction safety fence. The playground that was closest to the SplashPad had small rocks as the "flooring". The other playground had a combination of the rock flooring and soft black turf flooring. Although it was blocked off, it appears some people have pulled on the safety fence to where it was down on one side. People entered on that side and there were children playing on the equipment. I did notice that all the swings were missing. It looks like such a fun playground for the children. The edge of the park is bordered by water. You can see people on their boats floating by. It is very peaceful out here. I saw a lot of people on the pier fishing. There's a lot of space to run around for kids. It's nice to just sit down and enjoy the breeze and scenery in front of you. There are three parking lots. One large open parking lot for the majority of folks and another that slopes up to a fenced in parking lot for the Dolphin Lagoon goers. Then another parking lot a little further down closer to the light. That one is a small parking lot and parking here will lead you to the walkway that is bordered by tall palm trees leading to the pier. The other side of the park, across the street, holds a softball field, 2 playgrounds, the Bay Area community center and Bay Area museum. This section is set in a loop. You drive in the entrance and pass the community center, softball field, museum and playgrounds in that order. One side of the park borders the water. There are picnic benches and BBQ pits here too. There are two small, covered playgrounds; one for children under 5 and the other for 5 and older. There is also a swing set here. There are 6 belt swings and 2 bucket swings located towards the bottom, closer to the water, near the smaller children's playground. It's not as big as the other side but it seems to be more quiet and peaceful. There is also a small, covered outdoor gym space filled with equipment. I think that's the major enticement to this side of the park. Overall this is a really great park in my opinion. You would do well to spend time on either side. read more
