My kids really enjoy every part of this park. The playground is nice and kept up well. There are plenty of things to climb up and slide down. There is even portions where it's kind of like a tunnel they can climb up. The big slide is their favorite because they always fly down it so fast! I guess when you're 3 and 6 years old, going down a slide fast is exhilarating? Lol. They also have this spear thing that they sit in that spins. This park also has a small "rock" climbing wall. It's not very tall but it's easy for them to scale up it and get down by themselves. They also have some rockers they can sit on. Their favorite is the motorcycle because it comes with a side car, so they can both ride together. The hills are fun to run around on, my kids burn so much energy off while we're there. I love how they have it decorated for Christmas too. They have lights and even a big Christmas tree! Another huge plus is that this park has restrooms. They are clean and always stocked with toilet paper and soap. It's pretty convenient because the three year old is Potty trained, so when she has to go, she has to go right then and there. We love this park! Highly recommend it.

This is a really nice park. It has a nice crushed granite running loop . It not a real big park but it has a splash pad, tennis court, playground equipment, a baseball diamond, and a large covered pavilion. There are picnic tables throughout with grills beside them. Everything is in great condition. They take great care of this park. I'm going to make it one of my top running spots and I'll probably go and grill sometimes and hang out. Check it out.

I drove by this park some may times not knowing how nice it is. It's very clean and designed to appeal everyone except animals. My son really enjoys the splash pad, running up and down the hills and plus it's free wifi! It's very open and several areas to just enjoy and chill. Ill be looking into having my son birthday party next summer here.

I like this park because it's enclosed from the parking lot (less of a risk of my 6yo bolting into an onslaught of cars) and very clean. They've got a big pavilion, walking trails, playground, basketball court etc

    Still has a holiday flare!

I can't even count how many times I have driven right by this park. I swear I've been meaning to actually stop and check it out, but for whatever reason I just haven't had a chance to do so until now. The nugget and I were driving by and decided to stop to get in some play time to satisfy our daily fun requirement. Upon arrival the first thing that made me happy is the ample parking. I immediately noticed and appreciated how clean and well-kept the grounds were. The main pavilion is very inviting and can be rented for private events for a mere $50. There is another covered pavilion that houses a basketball goal to get your dribble on rain or shine - I feel like getting my Kobe on! As for the primary playground - what the deuce! It's pretty hardcore and made my want to take a crack at the giant slide. All of the equipment in this main playground section is fairly new and is in great shape. There's a sign in the area that says that the area is designed for 5-12 years old, and I think that is fair. The nugget is 22 months and he was having a hard time walking up the different levels. I didn't feel comfortable letting him go down the slides since they were too big for him. In addition to the jungle gym, there's a rock climbing wall and a musical wall with bells (more cowbell!!!) and percussion. Besides this feature there is not much to do for the under 5 age crowd. Summary: A+ for the beautiful setting and the well maintained grounds. B- for the limited activities for the tiny tykes. As the chicken hawk grows we will be back - another year or so on him and this place might be just what he needs.

This park is fairly small. It is great for shooting hoops, having a get together, walking or jogging, a place for the little ones, baseball or recreational sport, and to sit. The trails aren't as long as you may think. It took me only 2 mins to walk it. It is pretty designated too! The rules of this park are misleading. It says, "no animals are allowed". But what about the natural animals who used to live on the land before this was established. I saw lots of animals such as squirrels & birds in the park. If that's not considered an animal then what is that classified as in the kingdom? They make as big of a mess as any pet would though natural animals are allowed...I guess, it should've said "no pets are allowed". There is nothing naturely about this park. It is basically in the center of buildings and near the Medical center. The trails are some-what shaded, but no they are not wooded. If your looking for peace and quiet. This isn't the park! Here there is constant noise of a construction crew and that annoying "beep, beep" backing up sound, kids crying and screaming, and motorist vehicles. Aaahh..Train wreck! Oh yea, A few undeveloped areas are the water fountain playground, the baseball field and looks of a kickball field. The restroom are a big reminder of travel rest area bathrooms. You know the ones that have no air conditioning, feels dirty and has that not so clear mirror? Yep, I just described to you this park bathroom.. no it wasn't the cleanest. Also, if you like water at a park. This park is not the hot spot! The only thing it has close to water was a couple puddles from last weeks rain. Nope, no fishes in there probably only mosquitoes larvae. I probably will not be back when Challenger park is right around the corner. A real naturally park with water, trails, and all animals are allowed even people.

I love this park! It has a big covered pavillion, a few playgrounds, basketball court, baseball field, a walking trail, and a few hills that the kiddos can roll down. This is a really nice park for trainers to have bootcamp because it's very open and there also are several trees to grab some shade if you needed a break. I work right down the street from this park so I often come here in the spring and fall to eat lunch and walk the trail. I'm a fan!

This isn't a huge park, but it's one of the cleanest parks around. I think one of the reasons is that no dogs are allowed. Now, don't get me wrong, I love dogs. But I can't stand dog owners that don't clean up after their pet, especially in a park. Because that's just gross and really irresponsible. This park has a little gravel running/walking trail, it's only about 3/10 of a mile, but it's nice to go around a few times. It has a baseball field, tennis courts, tons of playground equipment and tons of picnic tables and bbq grills. They do have bathrooms and water fountains, too which is really nice. They have basketball court and a nice covered pavilion that you can rent, or reserve. I think you can do that online, or just call the city. According to the city's website, the hours are 6am to 11pm and the park covers 20.08 acres. This really is a nice park, and I'm sure it gets busier on the weekends, but typically when I run in the mornings or after work it's not too busy. It really is one of the nicest parks around and I love that I am within running distance to it!

Very nice, clean and diverse park, neat and new-looking splash area (baseball themed!!). Tested free wifi in the park - works perfectly.

I always knew it was here, and we actually stopped by here one year around Christmas time as they decorate the little gazebo with white lights. It's very pretty, and very romantic, but after that time I sorta forgot it was here. Yesterday though I was on a long run and decided to see if this park has a running trail. And it does! It's only 1/4 of a mile but a lot of it is shady (nice!) and I love the surface! It's not gravel like Texas Avenue and it's softer than asphalt. It feels like the surface that's on an actual track. And bonus, there's NOBODY here. If you want a quiet, solitary run, come here! There was one lady and her young child at the playground area and as I was leaving another runner came along. That's it. Maybe it gets busier later, or at different time, I don't know. Now granted, this is a small park. No bathrooms, no water fountains, and just a couple little playground areas. But lots of picnic tables and benches and the nice gazebo, and of course the little track. But for a nice little quiet run in a nice little quiet neighborhood, this is the place to be! I know I will be back!

The parking lot is small and right off bay area near space center Blvd. So far when I have gone it hasn't been packed so can't say there is any parking issues at the moment. I have only gone in the late morning and early afternoon. They have and still are planting trees along the path. Once they have grown tall enough it will definitely provide some great shade. Right now there is no shade so straight sun and heat along the path. If you plan it right like when we get fallish weather or a cloudy day then it isn't bad for a loop. It is a paved path so if you bring your kiddo In a stroller or a jogging stroller then you won't have any issues. Plenty of room for a stroller and a runner to go by. It does connect to phase 4 so if you are looking for a longer path then continue on. According to my Garmin watch the phase 5 loop is 1.27 miles.

Gosh-lee I didn't realize that the trails were deep and winding. They are well paved and they don't go into any wooded parts. There are trash and doggie poop bags scattered throughout the park (so there's no excuse why you couldn't pick up your dogs poo). I spotted several ducks sitting by the water. If you come in the morning, you can see all the birds preparing for flight. It's so beautiful. On the outskirts of the park is all residential with houses and townhomes/condos. This particular location on Diana Lane, you have the option to park on the street across from some old apartments or in the designated parking lot. There's an ample amount of parking in the lot. Exploration Green is an expansive park and as many parts to it including one off of El Dorado Blvd (small parking lot on the right side) and Bay Area Blvd. The parkgoers are pretty nice and greet you in passing. It wasn't until I got out of my vehicle and stepped on the red trail, walking, seeing so many dedication gardens in every area of the park. Who knew that Friendswood had its own flag to be flown so high next to the Texas and US flags? That is what made me feel that this park was a beauty, and I even thought of my surname park, Wilshire Park in Portland, OR. This park and that park can be compared to each other since both are surrounded by trees shading the path around the perimeter of the green space. Both have spaces for children to play, but Stevenson has added amenities, including the on-site pool, Texas native wildflower garden, splash pad, basketball, and tennis courts. The trail is 1/2 mile long, winding, and semi-narrow; when I am trying to tap into mindfulness, I tend to walk slower than a regular-paced person, and as I was walking, other park-goers were cutting me off to overwalk me and not giving me space when passing me up. I would have liked the path to be a tad wider in width to prevent this from happening. Nonetheless, it's still overall a solid neighborhood park and one would say a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting this place to be what it was and had a prenotion bias that it would have been like Frankie Carter Randolph and 1776 Park (two parks that I don't care for); but I am happy that it wasn't. Huge spacious parking lot with restrooms onsite. I think the artwork is from the same artist who painted bayou birds, natives, and animals at the Lynn Gripon (park in League City, TX) and Exploration Green (park in Clear Lake, Houston, TX), which is pretty cool if they are local to the area. I will have to add to this my list of parks to explore in the evenings and weekends!
