Each side of the trail has an observation deck to climb up and enjoy the view; makes for great photographs. It does get muddy during rain; may not want to use your fancy shoes for this. I'll be sure to explore here again when I'm in the area. It makes for a pleasant walk when you want to get steps in and enjoy the surroundings.

You will be happy you did. It's super peaceful. It's our favorite park. Lots of running room for my pup. There are deers there, she loves to chase them, but keep in mind they are there.

I've seen rabbits, deers, birds and other small creatures on this trail as I've walked it. I'm still trying to figure out what is the earliest time this park opens--I've got here at 5 am and people are already walking on the park. I guess I need to get here at 4:30 am just to walk. It great to bike ride, walk, power walk, jogging, or running trails. Dogs love it--and I'm not sure if cat lovers walk their cats...that just seems pretty strange. There's nothing like a morning walk that doesn't get you ready for your day ahead!

Taking in nature as you walk is a really beautiful thing. It makes me feel pretty zen. Yeah!! I don't know how many miles the entire walk is but I think it's six. People bike here and there is also two playgrounds for the kiddos. Or if you want to have a picnic there are covered tables. They also have benches to watch the kids or have a romantical conversation in the moonlight......before ten because that's when the park closes. Opens again at five. You probably don't want to go too late if you are a female by yourself as it is heavily wooded and after dark you got to watch out for serial killers and snakes in the grass. Yes, I have seen a snake before. Yes, I did run as if my feet were on fire. There are also bunnies that come out of the woods. Cute, feral bunnies. Bring a friend or two and get your run, walk, or jog on. Come twice a day if you are about that life.

I usually go on hikes with the Houston Women's Hiking group Clear Lake edition, but when I want to…read morego on a good adrenaline hike on a Saturday I come here. Jack Brooks is the only park in the area that I know that has high slopes with deep dips and some flat terrain that is similar to something you'll find in Hill Country, Central Texas. I get here very early in the morning to beat the MTB (mountain bikers) since the trail was essentially designed for them. However, it's also perfect for hikers too. Trekking poles are recommended when doing this trail that crosses over ponds, wooden planks curved in to create a high endurance speed track, and different props throughout. A suggestion is to wear good hiking shoes non-slip with good grip support. Ones that don't slip and slide around when you're walking. I would even wear toe covers to protect your toenails from shoe impact if not, you might have hikers toes (hematoma in the nail bed) otherwise. I don't recommend physical disabled, limited ROM, or anyone ridiculously out of shape to experience this trail. It isn't easy and it is very challenging; it's best if you have somewhat physical fitness under your belt since you'll need that abdomen and legs strength to pull yourself up and down between all the dips. If not, you'll be very much out of breath and unhappy. It isn't wheelchair or any assistive devices friendly as you may experience falls if you're unstable on your feet. The signage on the trail is themed based on your experience when attempting each path such as they have some that say: Hell II, Autobahn, and Hell I. When I come with the hiking group and alone, I hike up to 5.5 miles. And if you get lost, I tend to rely on AllTrails app to guide me. It can be very helpful when it working. The whole trail is heavily shaded, but since it's located in Santa Fe/Hitchcock, TX which is closer to Galveston (Gulf of Mexico) then the temps are typically muggy hot humid leaving me in a sweat bath. I suggest bringing some electrolytes and a hydration pack because whew, you can get dehydrated or overheated just by hiking this trail. The mosquitoes can be bad, so spray yourself first. There's wildflowers, spider webs blocking paths, and flying bugs. Nonetheless, this park trail system is by far the most fun I've experienced. I love it! I was a tad bit leary of hiking solo since it's in Santa Fe, TX has a history of KKK rallies dating back to the 1980s and the presence of hateful looks from the locals are still present today (my mum experienced it at Haak Winery and my sister experienced it at the Walmart). That's why I like to go early or with a group of ladies (all races) because I don't want no flack from anyone when I'm simply trying to have fun burning calories. To get to the trail, at the stop sign once you enter the park, take a left turn then go to the big parking lot. Park then walk at the starting point according to AllTrails. Summer time brings orb spiders on the trails. I have seen small snakes and rabbits in the spring on the trails. I have heard there are wild hogs and have seen the prints and areas where they are digging for grubs and such but have never seen one. There are areas for frisby golf and other open areas for other sports and picnicking. Covered areas are available and restrooms are clean and well maintained. The whole park is well maintained.

The trails here go through the trees, by the creek, and lead out to the section along the road and towards Pine Gully Park. I park here often for early morning runs to take advantage of the light from the nearby neighborhood yet gives me access to the trail sections among the trees. The Coty of Seabrook should be commended for their dedication to providing a quality recreation area for their citizens and other locals

It's not necessarily a park with a lot of amenities but a neat little place off of the Seabrook Trails right off of Todville Road with a pretty little butterfly garden. There's not a lot of parking, but the trails are nice enough to walk along to get there. Definitely stop by when you're out running the trails. It's a pretty little place that will help you forget you're only about 40 minutes from Houston!

Small amount of parking, it's worth stopping by for the 5-10 minutes and strolling around forgetting your troubles.

You can say that's pretty much a hike by then. This park has both walking and biking trails; I like to do nature walks and loop back into the concrete paths. The very end leads you to a residential area and furthermore walking, but I stop at the loop. Be careful if you decide to walk the trails in the evenings since careless dog owners love to have their dogs roam without the leash despite the leash laws. I've had three big dogs come up to me and their owners were no where to be found. I love the local artwork in the park; it's so vibrant and nice to look at. There are two dog parks for small and large dogs, but since they are considered a cesspool (that's how my veterinarian described it), I don't take my dog here. The dog parks are huge and apparently maintained on Mondays so they are closed. Unlike other parks I've been to, this one has restrooms near the basketball courts. There is a large parking lot and a field for baseball too. The paths for the bike trails are dirt, some rocky, but trekking poles aren't needed since majority of the path is flat. However, if you go deep into the woods where the trails continue on, there are some parts that are steep in slope. This is a pretty well rounded park that has everything for everyone. I've even seen people fishing in the bayous. Lynn Gripon is very near Challenge Seven park, but as you know Challenger 7 trails are under construction so this is the best best thing! So two weeks ago me and my dog were both attacked and both got bit up pretty badly. The guy had a…read moreDoberman and I think the Husky was also his. The Husky attacked my dog and would not let go of him, the large strong man tried to pull him off and in the mist of that I got my hand bit. The guys other dog came up behind me and bit my hamstring which I had to get stitches on and also stitches in my hand. My dog also had to go to the doctor's office as well, with a wound to his ear. The guy left the park and never came back to check on us and exchange information. I do appreciate the people there checking on me but no on stopped the guy to get his information. Its a nice dog park and the people were nice but after going for a few weeks you can tell the dogs kind of clique up and that can be scary when they are hovering over your dog and trying to pick a fight. If you go I would say stay away from the morning group 6:30-9:00am.

They have four courts which exceeds anything I've seen in the city and greatly increases your chances of not having to wait. The courts are well maintained and each one is enclosed so you don't have to worry about going far to get your balls or disturbing other courts. There's plenty of parking right in front of the courts. And the park is open late. Really everything I'm looking for in a spot to play some tennis. If tennis isn't your thing, they also have a basketball court and walking trails. And there was even an ice cream truck making its way around the park the last time I was there.
