They have four courts which exceeds anything I've seen in the city and greatly increases your chances of not having to wait. The courts are well maintained and each one is enclosed so you don't have to worry about going far to get your balls or disturbing other courts. There's plenty of parking right in front of the courts. And the park is open late. Really everything I'm looking for in a spot to play some tennis. If tennis isn't your thing, they also have a basketball court and walking trails. And there was even an ice cream truck making its way around the park the last time I was there.

It's always well maintained and has a vast amount of space for whatever activity you want to partake in. During the holidays, Pearland puts up a tall light display -- usually a Christmas tree or Santa. The only thing holding this park back is the lack of shade in several crucial areas. The artificial covering above the sandpit has oddly disappeared. Additionally, about 75% of the cement trail does not have any trees hanging overhead. More sun-blocking elements would let this park reach its full potential.

It wasn't until I got out of my vehicle and stepped on the red trail, walking, seeing so many dedication gardens in every area of the park. Who knew that Friendswood had its own flag to be flown so high next to the Texas and US flags? That is what made me feel that this park was a beauty, and I even thought of my surname park, Wilshire Park in Portland, OR. This park and that park can be compared to each other since both are surrounded by trees shading the path around the perimeter of the green space. Both have spaces for children to play, but Stevenson has added amenities, including the on-site pool, Texas native wildflower garden, splash pad, basketball, and tennis courts. The trail is 1/2 mile long, winding, and semi-narrow; when I am trying to tap into mindfulness, I tend to walk slower than a regular-paced person, and as I was walking, other park-goers were cutting me off to overwalk me and not giving me space when passing me up. I would have liked the path to be a tad wider in width to prevent this from happening. Nonetheless, it's still overall a solid neighborhood park and one would say a hidden gem. I wasn't expecting this place to be what it was and had a prenotion bias that it would have been like Frankie Carter Randolph and 1776 Park (two parks that I don't care for); but I am happy that it wasn't. Huge spacious parking lot with restrooms onsite. I think the artwork is from the same artist who painted bayou birds, natives, and animals at the Lynn Gripon (park in League City, TX) and Exploration Green (park in Clear Lake, Houston, TX), which is pretty cool if they are local to the area. The rest of the play space is an absolute free-for-all. There are slides, a ball pit, climbing areas, padded things to play on, pretend play areas and even an arcade. My oldest is over coming here, it's not really for teenagers, and my preteen is almost done here too. My 6-year-old still loves coming here, though. It's not too pricey either which is great. It does get crazy busy on the weekends. I have found that the best time to come is first thing in the morning when they first open.

Helen's Park is located near a neighborhood library and YMCA center. We always park our car at the YMCA next door and walk over. It's very peaceful here when there's not a crowd of people (which there usually is - everyone taking professional photos). The running water flowing through the middle of the park makes the environment very tranquil. The pictures below are from a cold winter day and don't do the park justice, but in the springtime when the greenery and flowers are in full bloom, I guarantee it is beautiful!

The Planned Development is proposed to include office, continuing care retirement center, retail, condominiums, townhomes and apartments. As for now, the playgrounds are AMAZING! One playground is for younger kids and one is for older kids. Both are shaded! There is a covered pavilion between the two with picnic tables. Next to the playground is an amphitheater. (Not sure what it will be used for just yet but it looks super neat!) Along the lake is a walking/biking trail. On a windy day, the fountain in the lake will provide a refreshing mist. It will definitely be cool to watch this area transform over time. Like I said, right now, this is literally in the middle of nowhere. Only negative is that the only trash can near the playground is overflowing with garbage. My guess is that because this place is so secluded, trash emptying might be neglected. All in all, a great park!!

The Ivy District is a mixed-use project which will eventually be home to offices, apartments, retail centers, along with this public park. Unfortunately, it seems that there have been some delays including legal obstacles in project development and it's unclear what the timeline of finishing will look like. That being said, the public park portion of the development is currently open! There is some work to do - There is no official parking lot (parallel parking on the street is available), trash cans, or working restrooms yet. The park includes a children's playground, a few manmade lakes complete with lit up fountains, and surrounding trails that start around the lake and eventually branch off into woods. There is even a pedestrian bridge that connects to Shadow Creek Ranch and allows you to visit the Shadow Creek Nature Trail. We spent about 30 minutes enjoying the trails at sunset. As residents of the area, we think this park is just what Pearland needs and hope it will be completed soon!

I have an 11 month old and it was pretty perfect for him. Artificial grass areas for him to play on with a small hill. Swings for little ones too. He had a ball. Lots of play structures, spinners, climbing, swings, most of the area is wood chipped. Nice coveted area to have a gathering - birthday, etc. The area is completely gated for safety. Parking on opposite sides of the street, don't park directly on park side. Don't block driveways.
