I'm sitting here in the waiting room, 30 minutes past my appointment time, and I already know that…read morethis is a waste of time. There is one front desk person, one laser tech, and a whole lot of fluffing. The machines are fine, but how the laser is applied is NOT professional - too low a setting (the tech has never actually remember what setting they had me on the last time and has had to ask ME what area and what size it was for every time - why are there no patient charts?!) and they go over the area way too fast. Seriously, they ACTUALLY go too fast; the laser doesn't hit every target area, and you feel the difference. It doesn't even feel like a rubber band snap (how it usually feels at other medspas) and my tech would for some reason press the plastic part of the laser into my scrawny bony areas, which burned. With your standard laser hair removal, you "shed" hair follicles a couple of days after the treatment - here, nothing. Just regular hair growth. Luckily, I did this as a bit of a trial and am not overly concerned about the hair on my body (thanks Asian genes?) but I WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone who wants to see good results, if any. DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON I'm itching to just finish up my sessions and never come back. Don't be tricked by Groupon deals, or by how nice the office (in this case, a shared office) may look. DON'T. DO. IT.

Debra is amazing! I had my first electrolysis appointment…read morealmost a year and a half ago for hairs on my chin. I have since added laser hair removal to my underarms, face and bikini. If you only read one thing about this place - hair removal is definitely worth not having to worry about it anymore and Debra is the best at what she does! The process: At your first consultation, Debra takes you through what to expect, including how many treatments, pain level and cost. She evaluated my chin (which was hairrryyy) and said due to my incessant plucking, I had to undergo electrolysis instead of laser hair removal. She gave me a timeline of treatments starting every 2 weeks and eventually downgrading to every 4-5 weeks. She said I would really start to see a lot less hair after my 10th treatment and she was totally accurate. Since then, I've also come in for laser hair removal every 6 weeks or so. All in all, it took about a year, but I no longer worry about my chin hairs and I feel so much better about my appearance The pain: Electrolysis does hurt, but Debra makes it bearable. Since you have to zap (literally) every hair, it is a much more lengthy appointment than laser. But, Debra takes care of you, and after the first couple of appointments you get used to the process Laser is much quicker, but targets more hairs at once so it hurts more in my opinion. Debra will go as fast (get it over with) or slow (take a breath) as you want. She tells you all the post-appointment creams and ointments so that you feel better after you leave her office too. Most of my appointments were during my lunch break from work since her office is downtown. At first with electrolysis there was some redness and swelling that would last up to a couple of days, but could be covered with makeup. Eventually my skin got used to it (and the appointment got less intense) so that all the redness went away within 15-30 minutes The price: So much more affordable that I thought it would be! She lets you know price at your consultation and expected length of the appointments/how frequently you would need to go. So, you can definitely calculate how much it would be in total. I would call Debra a bargain for the peace of mind she's given me about my appearance The place: She works in a dental office which at first sounds strange, but it makes sense given that the chairs move every which way and sometimes you need to be laying down in weird positions. She is always very clean and careful. If she is running late (rare), she notifies you so you aren't sitting around waiting 10/10 would recommend!

Although the procedure itself is uncomfortable, Debra's bright personality and ability to talk about literally anything makes the time fly by, even as she keeps zapping away! Her office is located downtown, it was very easy to get to after work and she made herself available to me after work hours. I would highly recommend anyone looking for laser treatments to visit Debra, not only have I for sure seen exactly the results I've wanted, but she's just so much fun to be around and work with. Highly recommended!

She also discussed appropriate in-office treatments for my personal needs, concerns, and goals (such as the hydrafacial which I now have booked coming up soon)! I went to this Dermatologist a while back for an unexplained rash on my belly. I didn't like her…read morestaff or her demeanor from the beginning I just had a bad vibe... She did a scraping of the rash and tested it for fungus and said it was not fungal and suggested maybe it was from taking nsaids... However, I am not one to take pills or nsaids unless I'm really in bad shape so that wasn't the case! She said she couldn't prescribe me anything bcoz she didn't know what exactly it was. There was no further testing done and I was charged, sent on my merry way and told to come back when the rash becomes active again because she said that day it looked like it was just post hyperpigmentation... even though I said it was still itchy. Today I still have the same rash and looking for a dermatologist who can actually help before taking my money... no luck yet.

I would not recommend Dr.Damstetter for your medical needs. I went in for my first appointment and…read moreshe was in the room for all of 3 minutes to introduce her self. The rest of my appointment was with her assistant. She prescribed me two different medications that don't even work. You can not use steroid medication with a anti fungal cream. After that I broke out in hives throughout out my whole body. I called the office and was not able to get in contact with anyone. I then had to email her to get her attention. She asked me to come in for a follow up appointment. Now its two days I had to take off work to come into her office. two times they billed my insurance and charged me. She realizes that the medication was not a good idea and gave me a bag filled with 5 different anit-itch creams. a week latter I am not able to go to work, my whole body is in hives, and I am trying to get ahold of her again. She is not at the same location every day. So now I have to wait a whole week to be seen. 3rd follow up appointment and she spends another 4 minutes in the room and her assistant calls in another prescription. 4th follow up appointment in 2 months and I am getting worse by the day. 6th different medications I finally look for a second opinion. I was recovering from all the different medications she had recommended because she had no idea what to do. never did any biopsy test and when I asked for my chart notes she put in false information. I would recommend going to a specialist that know what they are doing and not using you as a test guinea pig, over billing your insurance, and over charging your for their mistakes. I would have not written this review is she didn't bill me over $500 and say this is my fault.

Alyssa was super patient and spoke to me for a good twenty minutes before we settled on a treatment plan. I felt like it was a collaborative exercise, and a far cry from previous visits to dermatology clinics that had a very top-down approach to treatment. The assistants helping her were also absolutely fantastic and extremelt personable. Importantly, everyone was tremendously kind. The receptionists at the clinic are also lovely, and always made me feel welcome not just during the first visit but during subsequent visits. It has been roughly five months since my first visit, and my skin is so much better. The inflammation and breakouts are gone, and only hyperpigmentation remains.
