I've never encountered a bartender who seemed less interested in providing good service. From the moment we got to the bar, she was rude, dismissive, and acted as though customers were an inconvenience. My daughter, whom had already purchased a mixed drink, went up for me and asked what beer she had on tap for a pitcher and she hollers "IDK go look" and waves my daughter away, despite the bar not being particularly busy, any simple requests were met with eye rolls, attitude and aggressive gestures. What should have been an enjoyable night as my fiancé and I were visiting from the east coast with about 15 of my daughter and her gfs (who lives there and frequented this bar prior) closest friends, turned into a pitiful mess of an experience thanks to her immensely unprofessional behavior. Hospitality requires basic courtesy, and conflicts require resolution unfortunately that was completely absent. Along with deescalation skills provided by some lady claiming to be interim manager. After saying several times we wanted to resolve the conflict it was clear they don't know what that means. If customer service matters to you, I would think twice before returning while this bartender is behind the bar because she'll apologize to everyone BUT the person she was rude to. During an interaction with a bartender, I was directly told, "I won't serve you people." As a Black customer, that comment felt discriminatory and immediately made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. There was no effort to clarify or de-escalate the situation, and we chose to leave shortly after. This was not the experience we expected, and it left a lasting negative impression. The Sound View definitely deserves this 5 star review. There are not too many local good places left in Snohomish County but the SoundView is number one in my book. The unassuming outside fools those thinking they are too high class to enter but once you do you see a very clean welcoming bar! The best time to visit is early afternoon as you are sure to get to sit at one of the coveted tables. Locals will be there enjoy company or playing pool. The bartender will greet you and will serve your drink order right away. You can grab a menu and be delighted by the selection and the very very reasonable prices! Water is self-serve from the counter. Soundview offers pull tabs, pool tables, TV's, vending machines dispensing snack and smokes and a large outdoor seating area. Patrons ranged from young (21) to elderly. I was surprised at how busy Soundview was on a Saturday afternoon during the lunch hour. Pints of craft draft beer were $4. Cheap, cold and refreshing. My wife and I shared the Bacon Cheeseburger (single) for $7.75. We chose tater tots as our side. Our burger was everything we expected it to be: greasy, fully loaded, hot and absolutely delicious. Paired perfectly with our ice cold beers. Overall, Soundview is not for people who expect to be coddled or pampered. OK, I have a guilty pleasure. I like dive bars. This one is a long-standing institution on the west side of Everett. Weekends find it filled with bikers, weekdays find it filled with longshore, if you can make it inside, it's got three pool tables, a pinball machine, good food, and a lot of attitude. I've never had a bad experience here and people take you as you are. There's a fenced in beer garden in the back and all the trappings of a great hole in the wall. I was in town on a work trip and saw this was close to my hotel so I decided to give it a shot. I've been to many dive bars and this is one of my favorites. The crowd was mostly all locals but a friendly crowd. I sat down at the bar and the bar keep was super friendly and the service was quick. I just so happen to sit next to the manager and she was a great host and extremely nice. They have great food as well! The drinks are cheap and they have fun lottery scratch offs and tabs you can play with a pretty good shot at winning. I went on a Tuesday night and the place was full. This is a dive bar. Hardcore dive bar. 95% of the patrons are locals and are regulars. The beers are good, the drinks are stiff, the people watching is great, customer service is awesome, and the back patio is a fun little place to grab a drink or three. My only complaint is the cold. I wish they had heaters in the back. It's hard to get seating in the inner tent because the regulars camp there. On the patio it gets damn cold because, well, Winter. I would stay and drink, spend tons of money here, but I can only take so much chill for so long. I went to the Soundview Tavern when I was freshly 21 (literally at 12am on the dot) and got my first drink here. I've had an okay experience, nothing too great. Some of the regular patrons are rude. But those are just patrons. I recently found out information from someone that goes there often, stating that the bartenders are snubs when it comes to tips and will cut people off if they feel they didn't tip big enough. Not sure exactly how true that information is, but with all the other reviews where people are cut off for other random reasons, I'm sure it holds some truth. This is a dive bar. Meant for a usual crowd. Everyone who plays pool there is rude to you if you're not a regular. The bartenders are less than friendly. Come here for a quick drink, hang out with your friends outside, but I don't recommend coming here otherwise. On the bright side, they have this cute little doggy that runs around sometimes. The service is awful, if you go up to order a drink then you should probably order 2 because you'll wait in line for 40 minutes for another drink. After waiting in line and staring into the kitchen I would never trust their food, you can literally count the health code violations as you wait. As other people mentioned, the staff are not friendly, which normally is whatever, but when it takes 40 minutes to get a drink, it's irritating. The friend I came here with informed me that this would be the bar in Everett you would most likely be shot at. I normally go to the Anchor across the street, but since it's closed on Mondays, decided to come here. Everyone says it's sketchy, but it didn't bother me and seemed perfectly fine.
