The DMs who were assisting were also great. I cannot say enough about the rest of the staff (instructors, dive masters, etc). Every interaction was professional, positive, encouraging and welcoming. I'm talking about Kai, Jake, Maddux, Boris, and especially DMs Leean and Chris who were assisting for the pool instruction and open water dives.

From my first interaction with Scott and his Team I found them to be warm, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They provided all the necessary background and planning information so I felt prepared and ready. The GP team was fantastic also. The accommodations are rustic but comfortable. The food was phenomenal. Truly an exceptional chef. I would say I almost enjoyed the topside experience as much as the diving. The location felt special in the fact that it was remote and you hardly saw any other boats or people. We saw whales, eagles, otters and sea wolves (which was particularly special). I wore my trilaminate dry suit, a 10 mm hood, dry gloves, a Fourth Element Halo AR jumpsuit with a heated vest and was comfortable. I will say I loved the elevator on the boat! I enjoyed the diving but will say as an older diver, seeing the macro life pointed out by the excellent dive guide, Xuanni, was a bit challenging. I would probably recommend a magnifying glass of some type if up-close vision is an issue. But the macro life is plentiful and very unique. Overall I highly recommend Seattle Dive Tours and the GP experience.

In addition to a new regulator setup, I was fitted for an Aqua Lung BC. Unfortunately, I was fitted incorrectly for the BC. During my first Dive, I could not get the waist straps of the BC tight enough and it kept shifting on me. I did some research and found out that the waist straps on this BC are interchangeable. I called the Seattle store and explained the situation to a saleswoman. I asked if they could SELL me the correct size waist straps at a discount, since I was initially sold the wrong size. I was not asking for a refund, or a replacement or anything that would actually cost them money. I could not believe how rudely she responded. No apathy, no apology for the incorrect fitting, just "Too bad, so sad" was the reply. Needless to say, I will never patronize their shop again, and will encourage all my dive buddies to shop elsewhere.

Patient and knowledgeable, he made the experience straightforward and got us through the tricky parts of the training. If you are interested in scuba certification in the Seattle area, give these folks a try. Even if you do the final open water referral dives in warm water, take the pool classes here, as this is a great team. As a side note, August diving in Lake Washington is just fine - warm water and calm conditions.

As a former Coastie on the wrong side of divers in distress I was leery of certifying without doing my research and looked at 5 shops in the area. I landed on T L Sea Diving after checking off all safety marks and after talking with David who was willing to meet me after the shop closed due to my work schedule. I instantly felt at ease with the entire team (David, Nicole, Joe, Ian, Larry, Phil and Jill) and was so appreciative of their process, high level of skill, and how they individually accommodated all four of us and our learning/personality styles in the group. I felt exceptionally well-cared for and safe throughout certification and look forward to the Advanced Open Water course coming up and the very cool international and club dives they have planned.

My 1st club dive though did not go well for me, due to my inexperience and I think partly due to shortcomings in my OW instruction. The DM, Dave, though was excellent. He was very patient, supportive and helpful to me. Soon after, I took the AOW class with Dave. I found him to be a great instructor who is willing to take the time I needed to really learn the skills being taught - and does it with a good sense of humor.

Annie is patient, professional and extremely knowledgeable about the sport! She taught me things I never learned, and the one-on-one experience allowed her to personalize the training specifically to me. The most helpful skills she went over (that were never taught in my open ocean course under a different dive master) were perfecting neutral buoyancy and how to weight properly. I had been taught to wear way too much weight! She keeps things simple, intuitive and allows you to relax and just have fun. I know she has a passion for sharing the experience of breathing underwater with anyone and everyone, and this passion exudes from every pore. I also went on a dive trip that Annie coordinated, and it was so much fun! The trip was well planned, and stocked full of extra lessons between dives about diving, photography, travel, marine life... you name it! This was a four day trip and she really made the most of the time she had with us. I could tell Annie just loves to teach, and she has so much knowledge to share. I am not a professional photographer, but her tips even helped me take great underwater photos with my point and shoot camera. I think she knows just about anything and everything you would ever want to know concerning diving, traveling and more! She has been all over the world diving, and she is just inspirational to be around because she is all about achieving your dreams! Well thanks to Annie, I HAVE achieved my dreams and I am now working full time in a career that includes diving. I could not have made it as far as I have without her. Annie is one of my most valued mentors, and I encourage anyone considering learning to dive or furthering their dive experience to do it through Annie!! A friend told us about this camp and we mulled it over with our son. He wanted to go so he could meet people and NOT be bored all summer. We signed him up for 1/2 week and HE LOVED IT! We were able to secure another week, a month or so later, he could not wait to go back! He had so many great experiences to share with us and is completely hooked on this camp! The entire staff were so friendly and welcoming, they made his experience one to remember! Since the summer camp, he also signed up for the Scuba Camp (same location) and finished with his Advanced Certification in Dry Suit Diving. He has made a lot of lifetime friends at this camp! Super job to Annie and her entire Camp Staff, you guys ROCK!!!!!! We'll be back!!!!

Although I had a fantastic time, I was hesitant to give 5 stars because the staff were very friendly, however didn't make me feel particularly safe. I've spent some time as a hiking guide up in Denali Alaska, so I suppose I may be a bit biased, but when I choose to go out on a trip with a guide, it's because I would like for them to share expertise and keep me safe; both of which fell a bit short for me on this particular trip. I also recognize it was very early in the season, so some of the staff were training and brand new. However, the whole experience felt a bit unorganized, honestly, and like we were just being rushed in and out. Luckily I am a decently experienced kayaker and it's so hard to have a horrible time out on the water with gorgeous weather and good company!
