Elliott Bay Marina We stopped by Elliott Bay Marina to get information about docking when we cruise north from Los Angeles to Washington with our motor yacht, @pacificpearlyacht. Ray went into the marina office and had the opportunity to speak with Brice, the harbormaster. He was incredibly nice, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the marina layout, guest accommodations, and what to expect seasonally, which immediately made us feel comfortable and confident about arriving by water. The marina itself is beautiful and well positioned, with approximately 1,200 slips and guest accommodations for traveling boats. Brice explained that during the summer months there is a lot of movement with boats coming in and out, and that winter docking is typically manageable as well, even though many owners keep their boats in place due to the colder weather. Overall, it was a very positive and reassuring experience. We're looking forward to our next visit--next time arriving from the water side, which is the plan. Highly recommend Elliott Bay Marina for anyone cruising into Seattle. read more

Well, on of the "good" side of this Quarentine is that you can make time to sail away and forget a bit about whats going on on land. Just always be careful with boats coming on the other side. This bay has people but keeps quiet. You don't have to interact with others if you have your key to the door to get into the boat parking. Speaking about parking: be sure to let your party know they must park on the visitors' spots so they don't get towed. Finding a spot can be difficult but I've seen there's plenty of space now with Covid. read more

Elliot Bay Marina is a beautiful downtown marina with views of the Space Needle and Waterfront, located close enough to enjoy the waterfront activities (and about 4.5 miles from Fisheries Supply marine parts store!). Parking is ample, docks are in good shape, and the marina hosts boats from small to super-yachts. Yet even more important to us is the staff. We have had a slip at Elliot bay Marina since November 2015. We recently bought a much bigger boat and reserved a slip next to the shore. (Our previous boat sold and we have had no lapse in maintaining a slip there.) This slip we reserved was our "dream slip"...right by the shore and easy for us to walk our puppy when we stay overnight on the boat. (We bought our retirement boat and were looking forward to spending weekends at the marina for the next 10 years, we haven't spent much time there for the past 9 years due to work). When we finalized arrangements on our new boat, over the span of only 3 weeks...elliot bay marina gave the slip away to someone else without contacting us. When we protested, they offered us a slip far away and much less desirable. We sent an email to the manager and to Southern Marinas (who own Elliot Bay Marina) and neither took the time to respond. We live in downtown Seattle and Elliot Bay Marina is our only real option. We have been wonderful tenants for 9+ years, we are appalled at being treated so poorly. The office has had a lot of turnover, we've made a request 8 years ago to change to a starboard tie, this request went completely ignored and we let it go since we learned to live with it. We knew they were disorganized as we same many new boats show up in starboard tie. But this egregious mistake has left us speechless. We can tell that there is zero contrition or accountability and that we are stuck. read more

Evening walk with all the views. I've always loved dining here. Now we walk here too with Baci. Always empty. Always with views. And all the boats. One of the prettier, less busy marinas here. Unlike where we live, south lake union, it's also quiet. You can grab a dinner at Maggie's bluff! Walk around. Watch the low tides/ downtown Seattle skyline. Sit and watch the sunset. Walk around to the private beach. Even have a small dog park here but we haven't gone into it. It's on the smaller side. All gravels. Looks fun but baci like grass, water and all the fish/ birds in the water. Best for quiet evening walks. Short 1 mile walk but you can loop it! Free parking up to 3 hours. read more

Well maintained marina on Puget Sound. While they have gate codes, there does always seem to be people coming and going for boat maintenance, cleaning etc. I've always felt safe though and staff walks the docks by daily to check on things. They have amenities like laundry on-site. No public transit options but they do have a short walking path around the marina. You can walk down ricks to get to the rocky beach (more beach at low tide). Only two options close by for dining (Maggie Bluffs is the casual option), but you can get delivery from many other close by places. There is a marina store at the end of the fuel dock that has basic essentials (plus ice cream bar and sandwiches!) read more

Beautiful Marina! Was suppose to take a boating class here, but due to covid only one student at a time, so I got to explore the area a bit. There's a visitors parking lot that's free and an area for permit parking only. Looks like there's laundry and restrooms you can use. Two restaurants and a little shop available. The restaurant has outdoor seating so you can watch the views while eating. Also some benches and tables along the Marina for resting if you wanted to take a walk/jog. Lots of room for social distancing and pretty peaceful and quiet atmosphere overall. read more

I attended the Green drinks event here today and it was a blast. The other time I've been here is to go sailing on my friends boat. It a great place for private ev events. Parking is strictly street unless you have s permit. It's also next to the Palisades if you miss HH go elsewhere seating outside is at least 30 mins or more. Love that they're by the water added bonus to sitting outside. The event was a success they ran out of all the food due to the large turnout I've seen in awhile. Success all around. Very nice marina at the foot of Seattle's Magnolia bluff THE ROSES: Immaculately maintained facility. A physical plant that is second to none. Staff is professional, and will come out and help you dock if you ask (a real plus on days when you have a strong southerly wind). Beautiful parklike location with excellent walking paths and a picture-postcard view of downtown. Great security and it's inconvenient location (more on that in 'thorns') mean none of the vagrants or drug addicts that are currently infesting much of this city. Ladies, you can go for a late-night run in relative safety. Lots of parking. THE THORNS: Not cheap, but you do get value for money. Magnolia bluff location has its challenges. Long hike to a bus that can take you downtown make this a poor choice for visiting yachtsmen who wish to explore Seattle. As a result, if you don't want to eat on your boat, your dining choices are limited to a high-end restaurant (Palisades) or pub grub (Maggie Bluffs). THE VERDICT: Impeccable facility makes this a great place for overnight or long-term moorage despite inconvenient location. By all means check it out! read more

We love Elliott Bay Marina!!! During the summer months, we are here every Thursday night to sail in the Downtown Sailing Series. We are one of 70 or so sailboats that gather around the Elliott Bay Marina breakwater for one of the most popular boating events on Puget Sound. It truly is a fun, and awesome, sailboat regatta! A tightly packed group of boats jockey for position, an air horn sounds and colorful sails unfurl, propelling a parade of vessels along the Seattle waterfront as spectators watch from the Edgewater Hotel, Waterfront Grill and the SAM Olympic Sculpture Park. The after-party is equally as awesome. Every week, the staff of Elliott Bay Marina grills up food for 400+, and provides a couple kegs of beer and cases of wine. As the sun sets, hundreds of people sprawl out on the lawn and mingle along the marina's main walkway. It's during these beautiful, summer evenings spent sailing out of Elliott Bay Marina that I fall in love with Seattle every.damn.time! Thank you, Elliott Bay Marina! read more

I recently moved my boat from South Lake Union to the new N Dock (multi million dollar upgrade) at Elliott Bay Marina. Both the new dock (massive) and fairway (wide enough for most boats) provide a fairly stress free approach even with a strong breeze. The staff here our outstanding getting a 10/10, starting with strong management from Jordan and Brandon and great friendly dock hands and weekend staff. The views are incredible facing south of the city and Mt. Ranier and they have ammenities galore. Don't forget to look for harbor seals as they are everywhere. read more

We have moored in Des Moines, Lake Union, Winslow, Port Orchard, Bremerton, Laconner, Fishermans Termina, Cap Sani, and Bellingham, over the past 35 yrs. probably 20 of those years at Elliott Bay Marina. EBM is great! It's very convenient, easy access, not overly 'yachty' (otherwise we would have been kicked out a long time ago) and reasonably priced. On more than one occassion they have notified us promptly when there was a problem and were on hand to help. EBM is the best marina in Puget Sound! The facilites here are top-notch and spotless - everything still has that 'brand new' look and feel. The docks are sturdy and well designed. Water, power and cable TV are at every slip, and the water, cable and garbage are included in your moorage fee. The breakwater keeps the marina placid even when the wind rips in at 25 knots from the south. The staff are friendly, knowledgable and willing to go above and beyond their call of duty to help out marina tenants (they have literally and figuratively saved my ass more than once.) The location? Are you kidding me? 1 second outside the breakwater and you're in Elliott bay, downtown Seattle to port, Puget Sound to starboard. You can hear the Seahawk fans at Qwest field and see the Olympic mountains from your slip. The setting is park-like, as it is literally a park. Palisade is a fancy restaurant that will make most silver-spooners blush, and Maggie's Bluffs serves great pub food to the hoi polloi. No, I don't work for EBM. I'm just a happy tenant since 2006. The prices here are a little steep, but still reasonable compared to the moorage fees charged at many of the way less spectacular marinas here on Puget Sound. Des Moines? Not bad, but you're an hour from Seattle and only five minutes from that 'Tacoma aroma.' Everett? Dump. Boathaven in Port Townsend? Low rent dump. Edmonds? Over-priced. Shilshole? Over- priced zoo. That place under the West Seattle bridge and next to the concrete plant? I've seen half-sunken boats there, and the staff (if they exist) don't care. South Park? Sheesh. I was almost mugged on their docks. Do you own an 80 ft multi-million dollar yacht but don't want to appear ostentatious? You'll fit right in at EBM. And don't worry, in the summer mega-yachts with helicopters onboard will show up to overshadow you. Are you like me and own a 40 yr old 25 ft sloop? You'll fit in too. At EBM, I have been able to rub elbows with, commiserate with, swap stories with, help out and be helped out by sailors and motor boaters from all walks of life and all economic strata. read more

This is a nice marina, the evening harbor staff are friendlier than the day shift. Bathrooms and showers are very clean and modern. Both restaurants are good with plenty of variety. Marina is a short uber ride to anywhere in Seattle. busy fuel dock but plenty of space. One pump out. Fuel dock also has basic grocery items. read more
