I had an absolute blast with my family kayaking on Lake Union. The service was great, price was reasonable and they even offered my husband a military discount! ((Huge bonus points)) Unlike Alki Beach Kayak Tours, they offered us complimentary dry bags to store our items. Nice touch. Highly recommend Moss Bay for beginner and expert kayakers!

Came here on Memorial Day. The wait was a bit long but the staff were friendly, helpful, and kept us updated. They gave us a safety talk and we were off in a double kayak. It was a great experience overall - just don't forget to pay after your done and pick up your license/ID. I almost forgot to go back to the kiosk!

One of my favorite things I did on my trip to Seattle! We went on a sunny Saturday and rented a double kayak for $26/hour, life jackets and water baggies included. No line--we were out on the water in about 5 minutes. We managed to kayak all the way to Gasworks and back within one hour (as two young, reasonably fit people). BEAUTIFUL view of the skyline and bridges. I would absolutely come back again.

I've kayaked on Lake Union a few times now. Compared to other rental shops, Moss Bay exceeded expectations. The customer service was great--staffed full of friendly faces. Located on the south end of Lake Union, it was the perfect place to capture the skyline of downtown Seattle, the Space Needle, and Gas Works (all in an hour). Other Pros: Beginner friendly, which was good because I was with Mom (an inexperience kayaker). They provided a large waterproof bag for personal belongings. The price was cheaper: $24/hour for a double ($12/person if split). Fees are prorated 1/4 an hour after the first hour. Cons: Expensive paid parking--$9.81 for 2 hours.

Diego and the crew were so friendly and knowledgeable! My first time kayaking and I will definitely come back to Moss Bay!

Kinda hard to rate non food places for me because I don't know what constitutes a 4 or 5 star. Lets just say 4 star is a thing I'd do again, but not regularly. 5 star is something that I'd want to do a lot. But I'm not sure what that 5 star item would be... I went paddleboarding for the first time here right before summer started and it was probably around 75 degrees that day at 4pm. Turned out to be warm enough! I thought it would be chillier since it's water activities, but granted I didn't fall into the water, it was fine! When I see people doing this, it looks super easy, but then I think about it, I'm like that's hard! It turned out to be something in between. You get a life jacket from this place, safety! I got used to standing/balance on the board pretty easily, but paddling was a lot of work from a standing position. When you get tired, you can sit down, and it's like kayaking haha. Lake Union is also a great spot for this. It's generally pretty calm waters, except when you come across fancy boats going by. I went for just shy of 2 hours, which was good enough for me. I bought a groupon so I think it was $15 for the two hours. Regularly $15/hour. They were able to accommodate a group of roughly 10 just fine. Parking around SLU is a bit tricky. There's street parking, but I bet it's probably for only up to 2 hours ($1.50-$2/hr I'm guessing). There's a parking lot right outside of this place, but it's probably more expensive per hour. SOOooo...come on a Sunday when there are no street parking restrictions.

Even though I had trouble getting back I would highly recommend this place. You can also ask them where the sleepless in Seattle house is, it's like 30 mins away from the dock. A lot of fun. Would go back.

We rented two kayaks and two paddle boards this week and had a great time! We showed up right when they opened at 10 AM and were out on the lake within 15 minutes. The service was great, all the kids that work here are super friendly and cheery. My daughter had never kayaked before and I'm no expert, so I do wish the gal could have explained maneuvering a bit more - but she figured it out after some frustration. I like that they pro-rate to the nearest quarter hour on rentals too. They let me take my 4 year old in the single kayak and it worked out great...the lake is beautiful and fun to explore! We were out for almost two hours and it was the perfect amount of time!

You should definitely try and come early as sometimes they run out of the equipment you want and have to wait. I got a single kayak and it's $16/hr. I like where they are located because you are already on the water with a view whereas other kayak rental places are on the other side of the lake and you have to go far to get to gas works or view the space needle.

I've been to Moss Bay a couple of times now for kayaking. They have everything you need, and it's completely okay if you're a beginner! I'm glad my friend checked Groupon before we arrived! Definitely helps to save a bit and share the cost. I've always done the two person kayak (share the paddling effort!) They have dry bags so you can store personal items and it is held with stretchy cords on the kayak. Perfect to keep your phone safe and take it out when you want to take photos. It's nice leisurely kayaking across the lake to Gas Works park. If the water is warm enough, you can park your kayak and enjoy the water for a bit. It's nice checking out the house boats too. Fun sunny day activity and the staff are friendly!

Be prepared to shiver unless you stay inside the whole time (limited seating). The ship was also a bit outdated. The tour started much later in the evening so bring a coat! We got there a little early so we were able to browse the museum, which was fairly tiny but interesting. Our tour guide was Kim and she was a joy to be around. She really knows how to tell a story and keeps you involved in the tour. (Listening to evps, watching videos, asking questions) Our tour group was small but it made the whole experience feel much more personal. We walked all around Pioneer Square and visited haunted locations. My favorite stop was at the "Merchant Cafe". We actually entered and sat in their underground lounge. It was very spooky and took a few pictures to see if I could spot anything. The whole tour was made even spookier by the actual buildings around us. The mixture of older historical buildings and closed/abandoned buildings. Beware it is rundown and many homeless people but they keep to themselves. And I also felt something push my back during one of the stops. The guide was telling us about a specific spirit that was known for being "grabby" with women. Haha yikes. 4th ghost tour I've been on and excited to do more. Surprisingly I'm still a skeptic!

On Saturday, the 21st, four of us were scheduled to go and do this tour and we were extremely excited. After dealing with the atrocious Seattle traffic and terrible parking situations down by the pier I was already very frustrated. Our party arrived at the Ye Olde Curiosity Shop at 7:04 for our 7:00 pm tour and asked the worker where the tour meets to which the rude worker just replied under their breath, "they left" and returned to work.I explained that I understood we were late but were hoping we could catch up with them. I asked that same worker where the tour meets and they said, "In a big group outside" and continued to work. While we were on the pier in Seattle this information was not helpful. Trying to salvage the night, we went outside and tried to walk around and look for a "big group of people" on the crowded Seattle pier on a Saturday night. After a few minutes I went back inside he shop frustrated and asked the worker if they could find someone that was actually helpful that could answer some questions. With some reluctancy this person called their accommodating manager who explained that the tour heads to the right and described exactly what the tour guide was wearing. Ultimately we were unable to catch up with our tour guide because of how much time was wasted with this worker who was unwilling to help us at all. Again I understand we were late, but stuff happens. This place needs to hire people who have customer service skills.

I booked the Mount Rainer National Park Day Tour and went on May 10, 2026. Overall, I'm glad I did…read morethis tour and I did enjoy the experience, but I think it's important for future travelers, especially non-hikers or people unfamiliar with winter mountain conditions, to understand what this tour can realistically feel like during the snowy season. First, Mount Rainier itself is absolutely beautiful, and I'm happy I got to experience snowshoeing for the first time. That ended up being the highlight of the day for me. However, if you are booking this tour during spring/winter conditions, understand that weather, fog, and road closures can significantly impact visibility and access to some of the more iconic viewpoints around the park. In my case, many areas were still inaccessible due to snow, and visibility at Paradise was limited by fog. Because of that, the snowshoeing portion became the main attraction of the day. While the snowshoeing is technically optional, I personally feel that if I had skipped it, the tour would have felt much less worthwhile since some of the scenic overlooks and mountain views were limited by conditions. I also want to mention that the "introductory snowshoe trail" was much more physically demanding than I expected. If you are not used to hiking in snow or at elevation, be prepared for uphill climbing, snow traction gear, trekking poles, and a decent amount of exertion. I was definitely winded and tired during portions of it. Outdoorsy people may consider this beginner-level, but if you're coming in as more of a casual traveler, just know that this can still feel strenuous depending on conditions. One thing future guests should also know is that group pacing during the snowshoe portion may feel challenging for slower walkers or less experienced hikers. During my tour, the trainee guide led the group uphill while the primary guide didn't join us and remained behind, and the group became fairly spread out at times during the snowy incline sections. Personally, I would have appreciated stronger pacing management and more rear support/sweeping during portions of the hike, especially given the terrain and visibility conditions. I've already provided this feedback directly to the company because I think improved group support during the snowshoe portion would make the experience more comfortable and accessible for a wider range of guests. That said, I'm still glad I pushed myself and did it because it was a unique experience and something I had never done before. The old-growth forest portion later in the day was nice and relaxing, but compared to the snowshoeing and mountain scenery, it felt more secondary. Food-wise, I'd recommend bringing extra snacks or even your own sandwich (I planned to bring a sandwich but forgot to pack it) if you have dietary preferences or are expecting a more traditional lunch. The provided lunch was healthy and accommodating to dietary restrictions, but personally it wasn't very satisfying after a physically active morning and I ended up skipping it. Overall, I think this tour is best for travelers who: - want an active outdoor experience - are okay with changing weather and seasonal limitations - are open to moderate physical activity - understand that winter/spring tours may differ significantly from summer photos online Even with some critiques, I'm still happy I went and I do think it was a memorable experience.
