While the station entrance is elevated, you need to walk down a flight of stairs to the train platform. The platform is surface level on par with I-5. This station does have parking available, 494 parking spaces to be exact. However, the location is not close to anything other than the stadium. There is no retail development near the station. It seems like a station intended for nearby residents to park at and take a train into Seattle, as well as a connecting location for bus commuters.

It's an odd way to build a station but here we are in the 2020s. There are only two platforms. One that goes south and one that goes north. After you exit the elevator, look up to see which way to go. Each platform is only maybe 100 yards from each other so it's not like you can choose wrong. Just hope your train isn't arriving if you do go the wrong way. It's a fairly busy station but slowly becoming less busy. With the amount of gentrification happening, youre seeing less and less BIPOCs here. There is a bus station outside of the station that can also take you downtown or towards Chinatown. Outside of the station is a coffee shop called "The Station" which I highly suggest. There's no ride and park area here. So you gotta either know the area to know where to park or maybe hop on at another stop.

So glad that there's a Bellevue Downtown Station on the 2 Line, which is crucial for getting into…read moredowntown Bellevue. Selfishly, I love this stop because it's right next to my office, making it the perfect commute. But this stop is much needed as it's in the hub of Bellevue. Just like other stops on the 2 Line, it's easy to find and access. But this stop will get you right next to The Bravern and city hall, and is walking distance to several office buildings, the transit center and Bell Square. Like I said, it's the hub of Bellevue. I've noticed on certain days, the train has more people riding during the middle of the week, with more people working in the office. But it's never crammed and everyone is able to find a seat on the train. I'm happy that the Bellevue Downtown Station is along the 2 Line, which eventually will get you to downtown Seattle. But I'll take what I can get for now, which is either towards the South Bellevue Park and Ride and downtown Redmond. Glad to have this stop in a convenient location, walking distance to many popular spots.

Located in the heart of downtown Bellevue, this outdoor transit center (basically a series of…read moreberths where different bus numbers come and go) can be used to go to SeaTac airport in about 45 minutes. It also has local buses going throughout Bellevue, which can be used as connectors. The lightrail does not connect through Bellevue. There is a lot of construction next to the transit station (building some sort of high rise). I-405 is what connects Bellevue to the airport, and the bus takes it most of the way. It is just a standard bus, so doesn't have luggage racks nor empty spaces where bulky luggage can be placed. Works if you have one piece of luggage and the bus isn't too full. Bus driver was super friendly, and the fare one-way is $2.75 if using the mobile app that lets you buy the ticket on-line (you have 2 hours of unlimited uses once you activate it...so free transfers).

If you go wait at the bus stop super early like 10-15 minutes to prepare for the buses that come too early but it's delayed, you will end up waiting 20-50 minutes in total just standing in the blazing sun or cold rain. But if you try to go on time with a few extra minutes early, there are days buses will be 8-10 minutes early so you will miss it and with my luck the next bus will be delayed. Today I went out at 1:10PM for a bus and it was super early so I waited for the next one and it was delayed. Now I will arrive somewhere around 2:30PM for a place that takes 10 minutes to drive to.

Redmond has become more of a hot spot because of this station. There are also buses that have stops under the station making it a good transfer point. Of the stations on the 2 Line that are on the Eastside, this station is the best example of area development built around transit.Taking light rail to this station is my preferred way to get to and from Downtown Redmond as train service is frequent and quicker than taking a bus.

It opened almost 1 year after the initial opening of the 2 Line, and provides easy access to downtown Redmond. Our family took a Sunday afternoon train ride ($3 per person) from the current southernmost station (South Bellevue) to here, a ride taking under 30 minutes. It is within easy walking distance of many restaurants, and the large H-Mart as well. Definitely doable to take the train from Bellevue to here, to do a little Korean grocery shopping.

Wilburton Station is the station on the 2 Line right after Downtown Bellevue Station. It is located…read moreright next to Whole Foods and across the street from Kaiser Permanente. The new Bellevue Connector Bridge also provides walking distance access to shops like Uwajimaya, Best Buy and Home Depot which are nearby. It is one of the least used stations, but I use it somewhat often to get to Whole Foods when I don't want to deal with parking there on a busy day. I can take the train, buy my groceries and hop back on the train afterward. The wait for a train is at most 10 minutes, which is convenient enough. This stop will become more useful when the full 2 Line opens next month.

Finally, we have the long-promised light rail in Bellevue. Although it doesn't extend to Seattle…read moreor even Redmond Town Center as originally planned as of yet, there is light rail running now in Bellevue, which goes from South Bellevue Park and Ride to Technology Center AKA Microsoft in Redmond. This is called the 2-Line. I took light rail from the Wilburton Station to see what the fuss was all about. The Wilburton Station is well, new, of course, so it's clean, bright, easy to find and navigate and so forth. I walked here from my place as I needed to get to Seattle for work. This particular station is next to The Pumphouse and Whole Foods and when I took this on a Tuesday morning, only one other passenger was waiting from Wilburton. The station has a partly covered area on the deck for waiting, but the best part is the view from here of downtown Bellevue, which is the next stop going west. I only waited for about five minutes for the train and then got off the Downtown Bellevue station, which took less than five minutes. I'm looking forward to taking light rail much more, especially when it finally goes into Seattle.

So form here your only about 15 from each end, depending on where you want to go... just 3 blocks from my house Comes every 10-15 pending time of day. Never crowded Cool sculptures around this station so you cant miss it! I. E. A giant shovel and a giant magnifying glass. Love this station (Did I mention that already?)

The Seattle Waterfront Shuttle is a FREE shuttle that accepts tips for the drivers who drive a…read morecontinuous loop stopping at all the local tourist sights. There were 4 shuttles cruising the loop on the day that I was riding and I used the shuttle as a Hop On Hop Off to see as many sights as I could. I stayed in downtown Seattle so it was only a short 5 block walk to the closest pick up stop. Some stops are clearly labeled with a sign and some you just have to look for a small group of people gathering while waiting for the pick up. The shuttle is available to anyone in the waterfront area and it holds about 20 people. The posted online information said it takes about 45min- to 1 hour to traverse the whole loop and busses should arrive avery 15 minutes. It was very convenient for getting to the Space Needle and the Pike's Place Market/Aquarium area. Some of the bus drivers were friendlier than others and the busses were very clean. I'm not sure if this shuttle operates year round but I know that it is fully functioning during cruise ship season in Seattle.

The free Seattle Waterfront Shuttle was created in 2018 (running from May to Labor Day), and later…read moreexpanded to include the Seattle Center (where the Space Needle is) in May 2025. This allows passengers to connect from the Chinatown light rail station as far north as the Seattle Center. This route is also served by the monorail, so our party of three used both (monorail going to Seattle Center from Westlake station, shuttle coming back to Chinatown station). It's a shuttle, not a bus so probably seating for no more than 25 people. On the day we took it, it was not too crowded and traffic wasn't too bad in the area, so the goal of the shuttle coming every 15 minutes seemed to be met. One must look for a bus sign that clearly states Seattle Waterfront Shuttle...there are a lot of other buses in the same area...we saw it drop off people on the other side of the street, and then about 10 minutes later, came for us on the other side. The journey to Chinatown was pleasant, with most people on the bus being dropped off at the Pike's Market stop.
